Scarlett Jennings was confirming with Samuel Chalrs about the whereabouts of the escaped Malice Worm, but there were no leads for the mont.
Suddenly, they encountered another youth who had been possessed by the worm.
Could it just be a coincidence?
While Scarlett Jennings pondered this, soone from the Academy had already co scampering over.
But instead of Wu Hu, it was Wu Hu’s good friend Hill.
Though Hill had lost his temper in front of Scarlett Jennings last ti, he was usually carefree, and didn’t have any special reaction upon seeing Scarlett again.
However, he did look at Marcus Knight with so wariness,
"You’re that human friend of Wu Hu’s?"
As he spoke, he circled Marcus Knight, as if morizing his scent in every way.
Upon seeing the word ’Tiger’ on Marcus’s face, Hill was a bit displeased.
This tiger emblem was clearly written by Wu Hu.
He actually marked a human behind his back!
No one paid attention to Hill’s little emotional pang, and seeing him circling without addressing the matter at hand, Hannah Hearne directly asked him,
"Where’s your Tiger Demon friend? Why is it you who ca?"
Though Hill was bold by virtue of his panda bloodline, he still had so fear of the Special Demon Squad from the West District, so he honestly said,
"Wu Hu skipped class today."
He paused, then added, "But I know where he is."
Hannah Hearne raised an eyebrow, and without further ado, motioned to the chubby panda, "Lead the way."
The group of people then moved from the Academy of Mystique to Demon Street.
Throughout, Marcus Knight was led around to a place he had never been before. He wasn’t worried about being abducted, but anxiously touched his face.
Hill led the group to a small courtyard, knocked on the door, and indeed, they saw Wu Hu, who jumped at the sight of Marcus Knight,
"Why are you here?"
"I’m looking for you," Marcus Knight said, pointing behind him to the group, "They brought here."
Seeing the group of people behind Marcus, Wu Hu’s expression was also complicated. He hesitated but gestured them to co inside.
Once the group was inside, they saw an elderly woman sitting in the hall.
Her hair was completely gray, but she exuded a sharp aura. Seeing these youngsters coming in, her face grew even more stern.
Her gaze finally landed on Marcus Knight, and only then did she say in a cold voice,
"Wu Hu has told about your issue. He’s too young to deal with what’s inside you, so he used demonic power to temporarily suppress it."
Wu Hu’s original form is a Tiger Demon, and the tiger mark made with demonic power serves as a dium, allowing his demonic power to exert a certain effect in a short period.
Originally, upon discovering the anomaly in Marcus’s body, Wu Hu planned to turn to the Mystic Regulation Office.
But the Mystic Regulation Office does not deal with human matters, so instead, he sought out this tribal grandmother for help.
He hadn’t expected Marcus to show up on his own, and bring so many people.
"I originally didn’t want to involve myself in a human juvenile’s matter, but since he begged and you’ve also co directly to my doorstep, it’s not like I can’t help you this once."
The elderly woman paused here, her tone becoming even more solemn,
"But I hope after this, you keep a distance from Wu Hu. He’s a demon, and you’re a human; nothing good cos from your association."
Hannah Hearne’s ears perked up hearing this line.
If it weren’t for the inappropriate setting, she would certainly think this was so evil mother-in-law storyline pressing a slum girl to leave the prince’s son.
All that was missing was a check for ten million.
Hannah Hearne, having co to watch the drama, let her mind wander at this point.
Scarlett Jennings didn’t mind her, keeping her gaze fixed on Marcus Knight, watching him as the tiger-faced elder signaled him forward.
Faced with the elder, Marcus’s face was fully exposed, displaying the painted tiger emblem.
The elder sat firmly, extending her hand and releasing her own demonic power towards Marcus Knight’s cheek from a distance.
The sharp demonic power released from the elder’s palm, and as it penetrated Marcus’s cheek, his expression instantly shifted; he looked pained, letting out an involuntary cry of agony.
"Ah..."
He scread and struggled, but the elder seed prepared, pressing down on his shoulder with a hand that seed as heavy as a thousand jin, immobilizing him.
Hearing his screams, Wu Hu felt a pang of empathy and was about to say sothing when Hill pulled him back a step,
"Don’t disturb grandma."
Hannah Hearne was indifferent to a human’s screaming, instead looking with interest at Hill and Wu Hu.
Hmm, Hill is supposedly the chosen fiancée in Wu Hu’s family, according to the novels.
Lucas Jennings, having followed them inside, hadn’t expected such a brutal scene, especially the sight before them.
Amid Marcus Knight’s cries of pain, he watched as sothing began to break through the tiger emblem on his skin.
Black, worm-like things erged from the flesh without warning, floating in the air wrapped in invisible demonic power.
Was this the thing hidden in Marcus Knight’s body?
Everyone watched in disbelief at the bizarre insect shrouded in black smoke.
The elder grimaced in disgust,
"The crude creation of human masters."
As she spoke, she intended to crush the little worm with her demonic power.
But just then, things took an unexpected turn.
The tiny worm suddenly turned into black smoke, breaking through the demonic bindings as it aid to burrow into the palm of the elder.
The elder’s expression changed slightly, along with everyone else who had no ti to react. Only Scarlett Jennings, who had been watching closely, moved in an instant.
"Samuel Chalrs!"
With this shout, a golden light suddenly flashed from the room, appearing in front of the elder. The golden light wrapped around, stopping the black worm from entering the elder’s body, enveloping it tightly in golden light.
Samuel Chalrs’s sudden appearance caught everyone off guard, and the elder nearly lashed out instinctively.
Upon realizing who it was, she sat back in her seat.
Scarlett Jennings, acting in tandem with Samuel Chalrs, sent a Yellow Talisman towards Marcus Knight,
"Heavenly Talisman, Invisible Ghosts, Unite the Gates, Seal!"
Red runes flew from the Yellow Talisman and adhered to the opening on Marcus Knight’s face, acting as a sealing barrier to prevent sothing from entering.
It was at that mont the group, previously focused on the worm, noticed the abnormality on Marcus Knight’s face.
The black blood that had flowed when the skin broke, seeming almost sentient, writhed and attempted to return to his wound.
But as the wound was rapidly sealed by magic, it could not re-enter, blocked like hitting a barrier, and could only writhe on his face looking for another entrance.
The scene was impossibly eerie.
Yet if anyone from the "Heartbeat Mont" team had been present, they would have imdiately recognized—
The strange black blood flowing from Marcus Knight’s face was identical to the bizarre black blood that Franklin Nova had previously vomited!
