Chapter 871: Chapter 871: Having Is Your Blessing
Camilla Sullivan had heard so of the rules of the Mystical Sect.
Unless there’s direct causation, transactions like this are best settled with a clean exchange of money and goods.
More importantly, she just heard that the Jade Talisman could be used for her or her family.
Camilla Sullivan didn’t think Scarlett Jennings would casually ntion her family.
If Scarlett foresaw that her family might be in trouble and indirectly warned her, Camilla would definitely not refuse her offer.
In fact, she would be grateful to her.
Scarlett Jennings originally had no intention of giving away for free, but even if bought with money, Scarlett’s Jade Talismans aren’t easily sold.
Especially since she ca to the Capital tropolitan, following courses at the Taoism Academy while studying at the Academy of Mystique and practicing control over Demon Energy—she hadn’t sold any Talismans externally for a long ti.
Not to ntion the crafting of Jade Talismans, which demands ti and effort.
The offer for a trade was made purely because she valued Camilla Sullivan.
And she hoped to lend a hand to her family.
Thus, she directly quoted the price,
“One hundred thousand.”
A hundred thousand might sound expensive for ordinary people, but for the Sullivan Family, it was surprisingly affordable. Without hesitation, Camilla Sullivan transferred the money to her.
Carefully placing the Jade Talisman safely.
Noah Zimrman noticed she too had an Amulet, so he no longer worried if taking the Jade Buddha was inappropriate.
The rfolk felt sowhat joyous, then he suddenly turned his gaze towards George Goodman outside, pressed by bodyguards, whose eyes were filled with apparent resentnt.
Having been fully exposed, with the Jade Buddha taken away, George Goodman naturally didn’t pretend anymore.
He couldn’t keep up the act.
Watching intently as Noah Zimrman seized everything ant to be his, George Goodman’s resentnt towards him and the others almost materialized.
Noah Zimrman t his gaze without flinching, stared at him for two seconds, then suddenly flashed a fierce grin.
George was imdiately startled, his body jolted, instinctively freezing in place.
He hasn’t forgotten—this was a Demon.
Seeing his intimidation succeed, Noah Zimrman was instantly satisfied.
He turned away, eagerly approaching Scarlett Jennings and softly asked,
“Master Jennings, he knows my identity. Will he expose ? Will this an I can’t be a celebrity anymore?”
Scarlett Jennings glanced at him upon hearing the concern.
Now you choose to worry? Should’ve done that earlier.
Camilla Sullivan found it amusing but spoke up willingly, saying,
“Master Jennings, Mr. Zimrman, leave this person to . I can assure you he won’t speak out of turn.”
They had been conversing in the corridor of the resting room for quite so ti without interruption, thanks in part to Camilla Sullivan’s efforts.
Regarding Noah Zimrman’s secret identity, Camilla certainly wouldn’t make empty promises.
She believed Scarlett Jennings had ans to silence George Goodman.
But… not everything needs to be solved through mystical thods.
Sotis, financial power can achieve the desired outco as well.
Camilla Sullivan took on the task of handling the aftermath, and Scarlett Jennings naturally didn’t bother herself with it.
The ti she and Samuel Chalrs spent out had been sufficient, and since things were resolved, it was ti to return.
Just as they were leaving, a small surprise awaited.
The director of the variety show Noah Zimrman and George Goodman were supposed to appear in today.
This variety opportunity was originally secured by Camilla Sullivan for George Goodman. Now that it’s known he had intentionally deceived, Camilla naturally reclaid those resources, and today’s scheduled recording was canceled.
The show’s director dared not express dissatisfaction towards the Sullivan family’s young lady but saw Scarlett Jennings!
Rembering what her friend Director Clark said about Scarlett Jennings’ temperant, she pitifully intercepted Scarlett, half-complaining, half-coaxing, successfully getting Scarlett to agree to appear as a guest, though the timing must be her own discretion.
The director naturally had no objections and expressed willingness to cooperate with Scarlett Jennings’ schedule.
After all, with Scarlett Jennings’ popularity online, as long as she appeared on her variety show, it would be a sure hit.
Though losing George Goodman, gaining Scarlett Jennings as a guest felt like hitting the jackpot!
Thanks, George Goodman.
…
What happened later with George Goodman’s career decline after losing the Sullivan Family’s support, and the thod Camilla Sullivan used to successfully silence him—Scarlett Jennings no longer cared.
She followed Samuel Chalrs back to Demon Street, then straight to his courtyard.
Samuel Chalrs paused, reminding her,
“You live next door.”
“I know.”
Scarlett said, “But I also ntioned I would help you, follow you, and investigate the source of these contaminated demon energies.”
She finished speaking and without waiting for Samuel Chalrs to respond, raised a hand, pointing to his pocket,
“I know you took a scale from Noah Zimrman; you want to study the source of its contamination. I can help you.”
Samuel Chalrs wasn’t surprised she noticed his intentions; from past dealings with her, he knew she’d find reasons to assist with the research even if he refused.
Not saying more, he turned and walked inside, “Co in.”
Dashiell returned, heard they’d stay ho tonight to research, and his eyes lit up, imdiately offering,
“I can’t help with this, so I won’t interfere, but I’ll handle logistics~ How about two cups of milk tea to drink while you work?”
He said, without waiting for their refusal, darted off.
Samuel Chalrs couldn’t be bothered to argue, letting him go.
Scarlett Jennings claid she could help, genuinely aning it.
She was adept in conducting research; many Magic Talismans were her own creation. She had a thod for extracting and studying contamination on scales.
The two found different clues from Noah Zimrman, naturally not missing the chance to spend the entire afternoon researching the contamination.
Until Scarlett’s stomach protested and Samuel Chalrs rembered she needed to eat.
“I’ll order you dinner.”
Scarlett didn’t hold back, “Okay.”
As they spoke, heading outside, Dashiell exclaid from the yard, “Dinner is ready~”
Listening, Scarlett and Samuel naturally walked out towards the sound, simultaneously pausing in place.
The previously refined courtyard had completely transford.
Apart from ground and surrounding walls draped with lights, even the ginkgo tree Samuel planted was adorned with colored lights.
The lights illuminated, stars twinkling romantically.
At the center of the courtyard, Dashiell had sohow procured a dining set with a tablecloth, candles, flowers, and exquisite food—a visible effort.
Standing at the courtyard’s end, he called to them,
“I’ve already eaten, but I’ve prepared dinner just for you both—co on over!”
He said, eyeing Scarlett with a subtle wink.
See how clever I am,
Having is your blessing~
Go on, praise !
