Chapter 812: Chapter 812: The Soul of Lingpo

There was a bizarre silence in the Jennings Family’s living room for a mont.

It was not hesitation, but disbelief.

Even Kingston Jennings himself showed a hint of surprise upon the unexpected news.

But soon, he was gently nudged by soone.

The action seed to urge him, yet it was restrained.

When Kingston turned his head, he only managed to catch Adam Jennings withdrawing his hand and feigning nonchalance.

No one could have imagined that the first to speak up was the old lady of the Jennings Family,

“He’s willing! He…”

They’re all grandchildren, and it was false to say she didn’t feel a pang of heartache, especially since she was in the sanatorium for two years in poor health, spending most of the ti with this grandson.

But just as she spoke, the old sir of the Jennings Family suddenly held her hand, indicating not to decide for the grandson.

This concerns matters of this life and the next, only Kingston can decide for himself.

Amber Livingston ant the sa.

Without his consent, she wouldn’t make the decision on his behalf.

Fortunately, Kingston quickly regained his composure, picked up his phone, and typed seriously.

[I’m willing.]

Then added, [Please help .]

The next life is the matter for the next, now he only wants to live this life well.

“Then I’ll go back and submit an application for you. When the ti cos, you might need to record your Soul Breath.”

Amber said, seeing the Jennings Family displaying expressions of joy and anticipation, she felt imnse pressure, and couldn’t help but whisper to Scarlett Jennings beside her,

“Well, this is my first task, I can’t guarantee the approval of the application once submitted, maybe you can tell your family…”

He also feared leaving them with empty hopes.

Listening to his words, Scarlett didn’t show the slightest concern,

“Since Ivan let you co, it ans there’s a 90% chance the application will be approved.”

She paused, then added,

“If there’s indeed an unexpected situation, you should go find Ivan.”

Previously unaware, now knowing his solid ties with the Underworld, there’s no reason not to take advantage of this.

Moreover, Ivan was never soone who liked ddling.

Since he took the initiative to ntion the matter, in a way, it guaranteed that once the application is submitted, it would certainly be approved.

With this thought, after sending Amber off, Scarlett privately sent a ssage to Ivan.

[Thank you.]

Ivan replied quickly, clearly expecting her ssage,

[I was just casually ntioning, as I said, the Underworld never ddles with earthly matters.]

It’s just that the rit-related business happens to involve the Underworld.

Scarlett nonetheless appreciated his gesture, his reminder itself seeing it as a favor among acquaintances. Without him, they would never have known that the rit Exam Bureau had such room to maneuver.

Now, Kingston can finally be at ease.

On the other side.

Gregory Xander followed those from the Security Bureau Headquarters in the Capital tropolitan, who had co to retrieve the corpse, into the room where special corpses were stored.

Looking at the room where Elysia Xander’s body lay quietly inside the barrier.

This was the first ti since the last academy competition he’d seen Elysia Xander’s appearance firsthand.

Her face still held half of her visage each on either side, but now her face and body were covered in large red patches.

To prevent the infection from the red patches, her body was draped with a Yellow Banner inscribed with runes.

Gregory Xander was here today as the future head of the Xander Family to claim her body.

When he heard of her death, Gregory Xander felt little emotion.

Everyone must be accountable for their own actions.

Caught in conspiracy with Ghost Fog to seize Sea City’s Fortune, only to die in Ghost Fog, this was the consequence of her choices.

There was no bla on others.

Although it had been decided earlier, the agent responsible for receiving the corpse from the headquarters still sought Gregory Xander’s permission as per routine,

“Elysia Xander’s physical symptoms were a result of the Red Mist Plague infection. To prevent others from encountering similar situations in the future, as usual, we need to take the infected corpses back to the headquarters for dissection and research. If you have no objections, we’ll bring her back with us.”

Gregory Xander nodded,

“No objections.”

Beside them, an agent from the Sea City Security Bureau took out a box. Inside the box was a small orb enveloped in spiritual light,

“This is Elysia Xander’s soul, along with Layla Xalvadora’s soul fused into her soul body due to an evil technique. The two souls are now fused into a state where they can’t be separated. Is this also going to be taken to headquarters?”

Due to this special soul body condition, the underworld refused to receive them.

They have to report and see how it should be managed.

The headquarters agent looked at the entwined soul body, furrowing his brows in thought about whether to accept it, when Gregory Xander spoke from the side,

“Leave the soul body to .”

Gregory Xander told the headquarters individuals,

“Layla, who was subjected to the Face Changing Technique, hasn’t recovered her appearance, but apparently Scarlett Jennings has new insights, so this soul body can be left to her to handle.”

Upon hearing Scarlett Jennings would handle it, the headquarters agent stopped contemplating and simply said,

“Then make sure she submits a docunt stating she’s responsible for receiving it.”

Gregory Xander nodded.

Taking the box, he took one last look at Elysia Xander’s body and then left the Security Bureau, carrying her soul body.

He didn’t go directly to find Scarlett Jennings because he knew she had many matters to attend to upon waking.

He went directly to the house the Security Bureau had arraigned for Layla.

Upon entering, he saw Layla sitting motionlessly on the bed, lost in thought, while the soul of the old woman guarded beside her, muttering,

“The folks at Mystichall say the Security Bureau people reserved it for . When you’re well, inherit my mantle, and that house will be yours.”

“I’ve spoken to the Ghost ssengers from Underworld, and for now, I’m not going to reincarnate. Anyway, it’s crowded downstairs, why don’t I stay here with you.”

Though she’s in soul form, due to the old woman’s blindness from helping people with spiritual inquiries, even turned into a Shadow Soul, she remains blind.

Nonetheless, she could accurately sense Layla’s position and her emotions.

Indeed, Layla, though awake, remained in a consistently poor state of mind.

Because the tortoise stickers from the system couldn’t synchronize with souls, initially Layla didn’t believe the soul of the old woman had co to her side.

She thought perhaps the Mystical Sect mbers were scared she’d be exploited again, hence they used an excuse to comfort her.

Gregory Xander had tried persuading, but she refused to believe, so neither he nor those here to care for her nagged further.

Anyway, once her senses restore, she’d see the soul of the old woman herself.

Yes, he agreed to receive Elysia Xander’s soul body after hearing that one of the elders had new insights on dispelling Layla’s Face Changing Technique.

This ti, perhaps Layla’s appearance would be completely restored.
