If Samuel Chalrs isn’t human.

Scarlett Jennings had once considered this question.

She just didn’t expect that he would be the one to bring it up first.

"So, are you?"

Scarlett Jennings pursed her lips, not waiting for his answer, and directly said,

"When I was in the Otherworld, I searched for information related to the Chalrs Family."

Back then, she used the new phone her mom bought her to search for information about the Jennings Family, intending to see what differences existed between the Jennings Family of the Otherworld and this world.

Later, by so inexplicable impulse, she also tried entering Samuel Chalrs’ na.

She still rembered the search results that popped up.

The Otherworld had no record of Samuel Chalrs, just as it had no record of Scarlett Jennings.

Scarlett Jennings thought of two possibilities.

The first was that, like Donovan Jennings, the disappearance of a specific individual led to his nonexistence.

The second was that, like her mother, he simply did not exist in the Otherworld.

Scarlett Jennings guessed he was the second type.

Sure enough, she heard Samuel Chalrs softly say,

"Not entirely."

Born as Samuel Chalrs, in that sense, his current body is indeed human.

However, ever since he was awakened by the Heavenly Dao’s Fire Thunder, he beca more than just Samuel Chalrs.

Yet, he didn’t explain further.

Scarlett Jennings seed to understand that he didn’t want to talk about it, so she didn’t press further, only responded to his earlier question,

"I don’t care whether you’re human or anything else."

When she found out even her master and her mother were demons, Scarlett Jennings didn’t feel much about it.

What kind of existence they were wouldn’t affect her relationship with them.

Not just Magnolia Hearne, but anyone around her suddenly turning into a demon wouldn’t prompt such a question from her.

But Samuel Chalrs was different.

He is her partner with whom she has a marriage contract, the person who will walk with her through life, so Scarlett Jennings had to be certain of his thoughts.

Samuel Chalrs evidently understood this too, so he answered.

"My answer is the sa as yours."

No matter whether she was human, demon, or half-demon, it didn’t matter to him.

In his eyes, she was always just herself.

Scarlett Jennings wasn’t surprised by this answer, though unsurprised, she still couldn’t help but feel a quiet joy deep in her heart.

That feeling was like the joy when a flower bud blooms.

Her eyes slightly curved, a smile tugged at her lips, she didn’t dwell on whether one was human or not, she held his hand again and continued walking forward with him.

Magnolia Hearne stood by a window on the second floor, watching from afar the backs of the two walking hand in hand.

Clearly, she was the one who personally planted the Peach Wood Mark in their palms.

But actually seeing the two really co together, she didn’t feel happy.

Instead, the heavy feeling in her heart beca more evident.

Back then... did she make a mistake in secretly binding Samuel Chalrs and Scarlett together before he awakened?

Unable to hold back, she let out a low sigh, even the fox ears on top of her head drooped a little.

Luca Jennings imdiately ca briskly from behind, sensing the almost imperceptible change in her emotions, his face serious, he asked,

"What’s wrong?"

Saying this, he glanced in the direction she had been looking at, spotting their daughter and Samuel Chalrs walking hand in hand down the path in the village.

His heart sank slightly.

Could it be that Logan didn’t like Samuel Chalrs as a son-in-law?

If that were really the case...

Luca Jennings pondered another possibility with a serious expression, but Magnolia Hearne had already quickly regained her composure and found a casual excuse,

"Just seeing Scarlett with soone, and thinking of my current state and not being able to go back..."

In the Artefact Village it wasn’t so bad.

The village was inhabited by artefacts that had undergone Spirit Transformation, so Magnolia Hearne, a half-demon, wandering there wasn’t unusual.

But if she were to return to the Jennings Family...

Though Scarlett said the Jennings Family’s acceptance of Mystical things was high now, Magnolia Hearne didn’t think her family would accept her current state.

Not to ntion others, Grandma Jennings would certainly not accept it first.

Upon thinking of this, the casual excuse she gave Luca Jennings turned into a serious thought.

Luca Jennings took her sighing to be about sothing else, but hearing it was only because of this, he couldn’t help but relax his stern face a bit.

"You don’t need to worry about this. You are my wife, and this won’t change because of anyone’s opinion."

If they can’t accept it.

Then he’ll put so effort into making them accept it.

That isn’t a problem.

Looking at his wife in front of him, Luca Jennings had another layer of concern in his heart.

Though she was now in the so-called Demon State, her appearance hadn’t changed much from when he first knew her.

He privately asked Scarlett’s classmate nad Jade Bennett, learning that not only do demons have long lifespans, but when they transform into human form, they maintain one appearance for a long ti.

Like Logan now, still looking under thirty.

But he... was already fifty.

No matter how well he maintained himself, even being called a handso middle-aged man by others, it couldn’t be denied that he was indeed aging.

Standing next to her now, saying it’s like an old bull eating young grass wouldn’t be wrong.

For the first ti in his life, Luca Jennings felt anxiety about his age.

...

Magnolia Hearne didn’t know about Luca Jennings’ little "worry" in his heart.

Though Scarlett Jennings had awakened, the group didn’t imdiately set out to leave the Artefact Village.

Firstly, Greta still needed ti to quietly recover,

Secondly, Scarlett Jennings had learned another matter from the stone that restored Spiritual Energy, Jade Bennett.

About Magnolia Hearne and the Artefact Village.

She had just discovered that Magnolia Hearne was the one who originally "encouraged" the Elizabethan Manor artefacts to split their Half Soul to guard the manor, while their other Half Soul returned ho, and even helped build this Artefact Village.

"This was really just a mont of impulse."

Speaking about her connection with the artefacts, Magnolia Hearne seed a bit embarrassed.

Because at the ti, she had just graduated from Sea City Taoist Academy, and was sowhat famous in the Mystical Sect.

After all, she was the first Master of half-demon origin in the Mystical Sect.

Many people wanted to see her represent the Mystical Sect in a contest against the Mystic Regulation Office in the sect’s grand competition, but she had just encountered Luca Jennings.

Love ca without reason, she was just attracted to him.

But Luca Jennings was cold, formal, and serious, Magnolia Hearne pursued him for almost half a year.

Perhaps being pestered, Luca Jennings casually said,

"If the Elizabethan Manor could put up for auction the artefacts stolen back then and we successfully win them back in the upcoming international auction, I’ll agree to try being with you."

Owing to his words, Magnolia Hearne specifically researched the background of the manor’s artefacts.

Then she beca furious.

She thought, rely auctioning them wasn’t enough, she wanted to bring them all back!

So she didn’t leave a word, directly went abroad, and personally visited the Elizabethan Manor.

"And that trip made realize how naive my thoughts were."
