But upon contact with the fireball, the black energy transford into nurous black bats, scattering in all directions before swooping toward Scarlett and Magnolia Hearne.
Magnolia Hearne pushed Scarlett behind her, charging toward the bats.
Scarlett watched clusters of sparks gleam as the fla-scorched bats turned to black smoke and vanished.
Instinctively wanting to assist, she realized she could not use Spiritual Power.
So she took out the system turtle and asked directly,
“Can you absorb them?”
