Elias Quinn, a computer science student at Sea University.
Average grades, average looks, ordinary background.
He’s so unremarkable that it’s easy to overlook him at first glance.
When Scarlett Jennings first saw him, she didn’t sense anything unusual about his soul.
But that’s understandable.
According to the system, once a soul from the Otherworld fully rges with a body, not even a Master can detect anything abnormal.
Just like when she first saw Alicia Sharp, she never thought she was reborn.
Yet, for so reason, the person in front of her gave her a different feeling.
"I know you, you’re Scarlett Jennings, right?"
Elias Quinn seed honest, but there was a glimr in his eyes when he looked at her.
Just like those enthusiastic students she had encountered before,
"Can I take a picture with you?"
It was a usual request, one that Scarlett had agreed to before, but this ti she didn’t respond imdiately. Instead, she took out her phone and pulled up a screenshot.
"I ca to find you mainly to ask about this."
What Scarlett showed him was the latest screenshot of the ssage he had sent to her, taken by Abigail Bryant.
"This is what you sent to Abigail Bryant, saying that three days later, there will be a mass student suicide incident on the Sea University campus. Can you tell more about this?"
Adam Jennings, who had been listening casually next to her, suddenly turned his head towards Scarlett with a start upon hearing this news.
She had just ntioned coming to find soone but hadn’t said anything about such a matter.
Moreover, how does this guy nad Elias Quinn know about sothing happening in three days?
His mind was racing, but he knew Scarlett wasn’t one to speak without reason, so he chose to remain silent and listen.
Elias didn’t seem too surprised when Scarlett showed him the screenshot.
Instead, he lowered his gaze slightly, as if he had anticipated it,
"I know you’re soone with skills. If you’re willing to get involved in this matter, I think you might be able to prevent the tragedy."
He spoke with a hint of self-mockery,
"Back then, I asked Abigail Bryant to write these yet-to-happen things into a novel, hoping that one day soone would take notice and take my words seriously."
Just as Scarlett suspected, Elias indeed was reborn from the Otherworld.
But unlike Alicia Sharp, he had no regrets from the past.
If this world was a novel, then he would be the most ordinary NPC in it.
A mundane life, a family neither too happy nor too cold, living step by step from childhood to adulthood.
He hadn’t faced any significant hardships, only trivial disputes; there was no change before and after his rebirth.
But he felt that since he was reborn, he should do sothing.
So he recalled all the social incidents that might occur at all the pivotal monts he could rember and tried to tell everyone about them.
His hope was that soone could prevent all of them from happening.
After all, he was just an ordinary person, not so savior.
"Regarding the mass student suicide, I don’t know much because, in my previous life, the police didn’t report the final investigation results. So online speculated it might be related to campus loans, but there’s no conclusion."
To put it simply, this incident was also an unresolved case in the Otherworld.
"There were as many as eight people who jumped at the ti, not simultaneously at one location but scattered across different dormitories, teaching buildings, and laboratory buildings, all at the sa ti, as if it had been planned."
The event was a sensational one back then because several buildings had deaths, causing panic among the students and severely damaging Sea University’s reputation.
"I only understood it online at the ti, but since the police didn’t report specific nas, I don’t even know who the eight people are specifically..."
Adam Jennings listened to Elias describing the situation, but upon hearing this point, he couldn’t help but speak,
"Wait a second, are you saying that besides knowing it’s three days later, you don’t know who is planning to jump, why they’re jumping, the exact locations, or even the precise timing...
How is this any different from saying nothing??"
Adam frowned at him, "No information at all, how is anyone to prevent this from happening?"
Even Scarlett couldn’t achieve that.
She’s just one person, not soone with many arms and legs.
Elias listened to Adam’s dissatisfied words, but his expression didn’t change much. He didn’t react and instead looked at Scarlett. His eyes were dark and unclear,
"I wonder, if it’s Master Jennings, there might be a way?"
He asked with a probing tone, but inexplicably, it carried a profound implication.
After all, the information he provided to the police initially was only a rough tifra and regional scope.
But she, hadn’t she prevented it?
Scarlett glanced at him, her almond eyes indifferent,
"We can give it a try."
Though it might be troubleso, it’s not a major problem.
Hearing her words, Elias imdiately looked pleased, "If Master Jennings is willing to step in, I can be at ease."
He paused for a mont, then suddenly said,
"If this matter is resolved smoothly, as a thank you, I can tell you sothing, sothing related to Master Jennings."
Scarlett’s eyes flickered as she looked at Elias, her gaze carrying a hint of scrutiny.
Adam, however, frowned deeply,
"What can’t you say until it’s resolved? Why can’t you say it now?"
Why be so secretive?
Faced with his challenge, Elias lowered his head at once, showing a sowhat apologetic stance typical of an honest person.
However, Scarlett seed uninterested in pursuing the question, giving Elias a deep look and then saying,
"Alright, I’ll co by in three days."
Since it’s sothing happening three days later, there was no need for Scarlett to start keeping watch at the school today.
Adam wasn’t sure what Scarlett would do, but since she agreed, it should... be fine, right??
Elias agreed on the matter and didn’t stay too long.
He parted ways with the two of them.
Adam accompanied Scarlett away, while Elias headed back to his dormitory.
As soon as he entered, he saw so roommates eating takeout in the dorm.
They were eating snail rice noodles, and the strong sll made him involuntarily frown.
Yet, he didn’t show much emotion on his face, but as he walked further into the room, he saw his clothes, originally hanging on the chair, now lying over a table, covered by a takeout box lid and bag.
He abruptly stepped forward and pulled the clothes out, and sure enough, they were stained with the oily broth from the snail rice noodles.
His roommate rely glanced at him and casually remarked,
"Sorry, wasn’t paying attention, thought it was a rag."
Elias said nothing, just took the clothes and threw them heavily into the trash in front of the others.
Upon seeing this, his roommate’s face darkened instantly, and he slamd his chopsticks down near Elias’s feet,
"Are you acting tough with ?! It’s just a piece of clothing, do you need to pay for it?!"
Seeing him about to start a fight, another roommate hurriedly intervened to hold him back.
"Alright, alright."
After much persuasion, they managed to pull the person away, yet the offending roommate continued cursing under his breath,
"I just can’t stand his stupid face!"
The three resud eating, oblivious that Elias, standing with his back to them, looked at them through the mirror with eyes so cold as if he were staring at a dead man...
