Chapter 644: Chapter 644: A Separate Volu in the Family Register for Her
As Scarlett Jennings predicted, shortly after the contract ceremony started, the Capital Security Bureau team responsible for tracking the Undying Bone arrived directly.
Just a glance at the array behind them, their expressions changed.
“You! The Undying Bone has already committed murder! You still want to contract with him?!”
“What murder? Do you have evidence proving he killed soone?”
Scarlett played dumb on the spot, and the younger Security Bureau mber said,
“That man carries the foul aura of the Undying Bone with him, what more evidence do you need?
Don’t think that using a Talisman to suspend his soul will cover up the fact that the Undying Bone killed soone!”
Scarlett coldly scanned the opposite side but retorted,
“Aren’t you aware of what kind of person he is? A scum who molests children, you think he shouldn’t die?”
Scarlett’s counter-question left the three opposite sowhat speechless.
Truth be told.
That person indeed deserved death.
Especially since there was a female team mber on the other side who had a sister ten years younger, and she detested such things even more.
She believed such a person should be directly taken to be executed.
But, this is still a separate issue from the Undying Bone killing soone!
Scarlett saw that they didn’t speak, and knew the three opposite still had moral principles, so she slightly softened her tone,
“The Undying Bone acted to save soone but hasn’t fully adapted to his Undying Bone body; he acted a bit too forcefully…
Why must you be so demanding?”
Scarlett’s pose of you’re too harsh made the two opposite twitch at the corners of their mouths.
The initially speaking young team mber couldn’t help raising his volu,
“He acted a bit too forcefully?! That man’s soul was almost shattered by his foul energy!”
The other party wanted to argue further, but was stopped by the older team mber beside him who raised his hand.
That person was evidently the leader of this three-mber team, looking at Scarlett without confrontation but rather solemnly.
“Scarlett, I understand your desire to protect the Undying Bone. Personally, he is an Undying Bone, but he was made from the bones of our martyrs and even retains his human consciousness.
If he can maintain his prior behavior, contracting him would be the best choice, but now he’s stained with human life, even if for justice, it’s still murder.”
The man said solemnly,
“Perhaps one can be lenient with ordinary people, but he is the Undying Bone. Since ancient tis, zombies stained with human blood must be eradicated, like beasts that have tasted human flesh cannot be kept.”
For once they taste human flesh, in their consciousness, they will list humans as food.
Undying Bones and beasts share the sa logic.
Even though he retains a part of human consciousness, he ultimately is no longer human.
This logic is understood by those present.
Scarlett also understands, but–
“He hasn’t eaten anyone, so it doesn’t count.”
She held onto the Peach Wood Sword, showing no intention to relent.
“You’re rely worried the Undying Bone will lose control again. As long as Stella Gibson can successfully contract the Undying Bone, all issues will be resolved.”
“Stella Gibson? Who is Stella Gibson?”
The young mber beside couldn’t help speaking again, “She’s not one of our Security Bureau people, right? Are you letting a non-Security Bureau person contract the Undying Bone! Aren’t you afraid soone might use the Undying Bone to cause chaos?!”
Scarlett furrowed her brows upon hearing, just about to say Stella is trustworthy due to her traditional family background, when Samuel Chalrs who hadn’t spoken, chid in, saying,
“Headquarters has already approved. As long as Stella Gibson successfully contracts the Undying Bone, she will imdiately join the Security Bureau like Scarlett Jennings, and the contracted Undying Bone will also beco part of the Security Bureau personnel.”
He spoke, directly looking at the leader,
“Since they are personnel, enforcing the law upon witnessing misconduct is fine. If there’s doubt, you can confirm directly with Simon.”
The team leader, hearing him call Simon by his na, instinctively harbored so curiosity about Samuel Chalrs.
However, before he could ask, he saw soone opposite holding up a phone already in a video call, and on the other side, was Simon himself!
The three mbers here were taken aback upon seeing Simon.
Knowing Simon’s presence in the Security Bureau is relatively unique, rarely seen by people, ordinary mbers may not get a chance to see him for years.
The team leader leading them had seen him before, but… he didn’t have Simon’s contact information, let alone video calling him…
What was the relationship between the Bureau “newcor” none of them had seen and Lord Simon?
In the video, upon hearing Samuel Chalrs’ recent words, Simon earnestly agreed,
“That’s right, Stella Gibson and the Undying Bone’s joining the Security Bureau has been approved by headquarters.”
Approved by who, really? Simon suddenly notified him regarding this, without ti for him to communicate with the higher-ups.
Though he grumbled inwardly, Simon maintained a dignified exterior, even deliberately put on a stern face, saying,
“But the premise is the contract must succeed.”
Simon addressed the three Security Bureau mbers,
“The situation with the Undying Bone is special; the bureau made a comprehensive consideration to decide to give such a chance. Since the contract has begun, forcibly interrupting is pointless, better to wait for the outco.”
Upon Simon’s words, the three imdiately responded,
“Understood.”
Simon nodded, wanting to take the chance to “explain” a few things to Samuel Chalrs, but hadn’t opened his mouth yet when Samuel swiftly hung up the video call.
Simon: …
Scarlett was a bit surprised about Samuel contacting Simon to secure assurance for Stella and the Undying Bone, but not overly so.
He was always reliable in his actions.
Samuel didn’t inform her beforehand, nor used Simon to imdiately dismiss the Security Bureau people, because even as the Security Bureau’s leader, mandatory orders aren’t easily accepted within if they knew about the Undying Bone’s harmful capabilities.
Rather than verifying whether to contract the Undying Bone through certainty or debate, Scarlett’s approach was more effective: act first, report later.
No matter the decision from above, they initiated it anyway.
And once it starts, forcibly interrupting is futile.
The three obviously understood this logic, but were still sowhat concerned,
“Scarlett, I know you excel more than your peers, but how do you confirm your so-called contract can constrain the Undying Bone’s behavior?”
Contracting an Undying Bone, none have succeeded in over a thousand years.
Scarlett was about to retort, but heard Stella Gibson’s voice from inside the array, suddenly shouting firmly,
“I can guarantee it!”
Stella Gibson had heard the outside discussion.
As long as she successfully contracts the Undying Bone, both she and the Undying Bone can imdiately beco Security Bureau personnel!
In such a situation, she must fight for it.
This wasn’t just about adding a page in the family chronicles for her.
She wanted to open a whole book!
