Stella Gibson said eight minutes, and it really was eight minutes.
When she arrived, Scarlett Jennings was dividing ingots among a few ghost children, as their "hardship fee" for this trip.
Seeing Stella sprinting like a hundred-ter dash from the end of the street, Scarlett waved her hand to dismiss the ghost children.
Without the ghostly restraint, Greta stood by watching, showing no intention to run.
After all, he had already co to an agreent with Scarlett Jennings.
As for why he trusted Scarlett Jennings so much, besides witnessing her Fire Thunder that day, it also had to do with the man beside her.
The man nad Samuel Chalrs gave him a feeling of... wanting to be close.
Greta wasn't sure if this was the right way to describe it.
But when that man looked at him, Greta felt an unprecedented sense of stability.
When Stella ca over and saw that tall man standing obediently and quietly, she was a bit incredulous.
Although she had heard Scarlett Jennings' description of the Undying Bone on the way, the man before her looked no different from an ordinary person, quite unlike the Undying Bone she saw in Lloyd Village.
"Do you, do you rember ? You even chased before."
Feeling nervous, it didn't stop Stella from boldly stepping up to chat.
Greta only glanced at her, then expressionlessly moved his gaze away.
When Stella saw that he was really as Scarlett claid, "like a person," she relaxed even more.
"Do you really not rember? In Lloyd Village, when you were chasing , a Living Corpse suddenly lunged at , and you smacked it away with one slap!
Technically, we're kind of acquaintances."
She said with a cheerful smile, now completely at ease, she tried to be friendly with him, pointing at the little one standing by Greta, and asked,
"The little girl is so cute, is she your daughter? Can I touch her?"
Greta: ...
Little Olivia Xalvadora: ...
This sister is quite self-assured.
Greta listened for a while, only catching the last sentence, and instinctively looked at Olivia by his feet, raising his hand protectively.
"No, touch."
"Whoa! You can talk!" Stella didn't mind being rejected at all, if anything, she was delighted, turning to Scarlett Jennings with excitent,
"Scarlett! He can talk! He can chat with in the future!"
Greta: ...
Samuel Chalrs looked at Scarlett Jennings, raising an eyebrow slightly; though he said nothing, his aning was clear.
[Are you sure you want her to make a contract with the Undying Bone?]
He thought the Undying Bone might be tempted to run away from ho.
Scarlett Jennings: ...
The child was just too excited, it would ease with ti.
No matter what, forming a contract wasn't sothing that could be done casually.
Because Greta was cooperative, Scarlett Jennings simply decided to take him and Olivia back to where they were currently staying.
Samuel Chalrs didn't like staying in hotels, so for the past two days, they had been staying in a garden villa in Peaceful City, with good privacy, so setting up a formation here wouldn't attract too much attention.
After preparing so food for Olivia and giving the pair clean clothes, while they tidied up, Stella discussed business with Scarlett Jennings.
"The typical Ghost Contract I know can only bind existences below a Ghost King, but the Undying Bone's strength is greater than a Ghost King's, and it's not really a ghost, so I was thinking of perhaps adding your family's Corpse Control Technique to the foundation of the Ghost Contract."
She had previously witnessed Stella's Corpse Control Technique in Lloyd Village.
When considering different plans for the Undying Bone, Scarlett Jennings' first thought for a contract partner was Stella.
She could also try to contract the Undying Bone herself, but as Samuel Chalrs worried, it would inevitably require her to use her Spiritual Power to balance the stability between her and the Undying Bone.
However, if it were Stella, there would be no such concern.
Because of Stella's family heritage, her own Spiritual Power attributes were sowhat more special than normal Masters, and these attributes just happened to resonate with corpses.
The Undying Bone is also a corpse.
A zombie.
And Stella, coming from a Corpse Chasing Family, was best at controlling corpses.
Hearing Scarlett Jennings' words, Stella wasn't vague about it, directly taking out her luggage bag.
"After you told you wanted to contract the Undying Bone, I specifically asked my grandpa about it. What you ntioned is sowhat similar to the Corpse Ghost Contract passed down in our family, which is about making a contract with a corpse based on controlling it.
But our family hasn't encountered an Undying Bone for three generations, so we don't know if the Corpse Ghost Contract would be effective on it, but I've brought along everything we need."
Stella said this with so emotion,
"Modern people are all directly cremated, so the Corpse Chasing Technique has nearly died out by my generation, I don't have any chance to encounter any fresh corpses, can only fiddle with puppets..."
Scarlett Jennings simply said,
"That's good too."
Dealing with corpses isn't a good thing, especially Living Corpses like in Lloyd Village, it's best if they never appear again.
Stella didn't know that's what she ant, and she got all excited again,
"Puppets are nice, but if I can successfully contract an Undying Bone, I will gloriously bring honor to my family!
None of the Corpse Chasing sects, including my ancestors, have ever tried contracting an Undying Bone.
Scarlett, if this works, you'll be the main hero in revitalizing our family! If you co to my house for dinner, my grandpa will have to give you the head seat!"
Scarlett Jennings: ...
No need for that.
While the two were mumbling about the Corpse Ghost Contract, Greta and Olivia Xalvadora had already changed into clean clothes.
Seeing the little girl now tidy and pretty, Greta's usually calm eyes showed a subtle movent.
The first ti he t her, she reminded him of the child in his mories.
But now, she looked just like those little girls he saw on the square wearing pretty dresses.
Instinctively, he reached out, his large hand falling stiffly on Olivia Xalvadora's head, giving a few awkward pats.
He felt that a child like this was better.
Children shouldn't always be thinking about being eaten.
Olivia Xalvadora did not look happy being patted on the head, watching as Scarlett Jennings and the others approached, there was still a trace of wariness and unease in her eyes.
"You guys really won't let the police officer co and take away?"
Stella didn't know about this little girl's situation, but she figured it wasn't right to leave a child with the Undying Bone, so she instinctively wanted to say sothing.
But Scarlett Jennings was a step ahead, saying,
"If you don't want to leave, then you don't have to."
"Really?" Olivia Xalvadora was still skeptical, "But aren't you taking uncle away?"
"We are taking him away, yes."
Scarlett Jennings glanced at the little girl, saying, "But if you want to follow, I can try to think of a way."
Upon hearing this, Olivia Xalvadora's eyes suddenly lit up, while Stella was utterly baffled.
Stella: ???
Wait, you never ntioned contracting the Undying Bone cos with a bonus kid, did you??
What's this supposed to be?
Buy one, get one free???
She didn't know how to raise a kid either...
