Chapter 529: Chapter 529 Whose rit Golden Light Is So Unstable?

Scarlett Jennings felt a rush in front of her eyes as she was suddenly embraced.

The scent belonging to Samuel Chalrs, along with the golden light, enveloped her.

Her body stiffened slightly, montarily forgetting to think, and she didn’t notice the suddenly intensified golden light.

Her mind went blank for a mont, forgetting to push the other person away, unable to recall what she had just said, she barely managed to call out to him,

“Samuel, Samuel Chalrs?”

She thought that if she spoke out, Samuel would release her, yet he rely responded softly,

“Hmm.”

Samuel Chalrs’ voice was very light, as if afraid of startling her.

He wasn’t unaware of how her body stiffened slightly in his arms, nor was he oblivious to the abruptness of his actions.

Yet, he didn’t want to let go.

The atmosphere between them beca increasingly subtle with such a response.

Liora Gold and Araminta Gold peeked out from their pockets.

Their round heads tilted, looking at one, then the other.

Finally, the two little ones covered their eyes with their tiny hands and gently floated to the ground.

They turned their heads, pitter-pattered away.

Even though they had golden light, they didn’t want to be third wheels.

Scarlett Jennings was trying to figure out the situation when she noticed the two little papern sneaking away hand in hand.

Unexpectedly, she felt a guilty conscience as if caught in the act.

Awkwardly shifting, Scarlett considered whether to directly speak up for Samuel to let her go, but before she could decide, his arms had already loosened.

Samuel Chalrs stepped back, looking at her, his eyes returning to their usual calmness, only saying,

“Sorry.”

He offered no explanation as to why he suddenly held her.

Scarlett Jennings couldn’t quite articulate her feelings.

Back with the Jennings family, she had tried close interactions with those around her.

But Samuel’s embrace was sohow different from her brother’s or father’s hugs.

His embrace was warr, hotter than his exterior suggested.

Not unlikable.

It even made one sowhat… attached.

This feeling was so unfamiliar that Scarlett Jennings’s ears seed to warm slightly.

She couldn’t help but wonder if this was also an effect of the golden light around Samuel?

That’s right, the golden light.

Scarlett’s sanity returned at last, and looking at Samuel in front of her again, she was baffled.

This golden light… why does it seem a bit brighter than before?

Though not as intense as initially, it’s indeed brighter compared to just now.

“Your golden light…”

Scarlett pointed to his chest, looking sowhat puzzled.

She was truly uncertain.

Was the golden light around Samuel really rit golden light?

Which family’s rit golden light is this unstable?

Could it suddenly regain strength because of holding her?

At this possibility, Scarlett’s expression stiffened again.

She felt she might be overthinking.

Her determination,

Stay firm.

Seeing her expression shift from initial confusion to a resolute pretense of calm, Samuel helplessly interrupted her thoughts, continuing with her words,

“What about the golden light?”

Scarlett, snapping back to reality upon hearing the question, looked at Samuel again, rely saying,

“It’s nothing.”

Scarlett didn’t have the courage to step forward and verify her hypothesis by hugging him again, so she decided to hold off.

Rembering what she’d said before, she asked him,

“About the task, is it okay with you?”

After a pause, seemingly worried he might be too busy, she added, “If you’re really too busy, I can think of another way.”

“No need, let’s do it your way.”

Without waiting for Scarlett to reconsider, Samuel straightforwardly responded,

“No problem, I’m quite free recently.”

Scarlett didn’t fully believe him.

Since she’d known him, he never seed to really have free ti.

Running such a huge Chalrs family business alone while guarding against other Chalrs family mbers’ ‘cobacks,’ he couldn’t relax.

But since he said so, she decided not to expose him.

“Alright, I’ll handle it.”

Scarlett left him a few spirit talismans, including the Anti-backstabbing Talisman and others.

Even though he might not need them, it would be better if he didn’t have to rely on his golden light.

After a few more words, Scarlett finally left the Chalrs family.

Only upon returning to the Jennings family did she rember why she initially went to the Chalrs family.

She had forgotten to pass along Oliver’s greetings.

Oh well,

So other ti will do as well.

Samuel Chalrs stood at the entrance, watching her leave, the butler beside him looking on eagerly, wanting to ask, but not daring to say much.

After hesitating for a while, before the butler could speak, Samuel calmly said,

“Give the order to have all the children over ten from the Chalrs branches co to see tomorrow.”

The butler was quite surprised by this.

Since the young master took over as the Chalrs family head, he’d never let those mbers set foot in the Chalrs household.

What’s the reason for wanting to see those children all of a sudden?

Though puzzled, the butler didn’t question further, agreeing quickly before deciding to contact everyone.

Samuel didn’t care whether making a phone call this late would leave so on edge for the night.

So things, he had to plan ahead.

On the other side, at the White family.

Oliver White returned ho at ten o’clock in the evening.

Old White, who rarely waited in the living room for her, asked when he saw her,

“I heard the little girl the Jennings just found ca to see you at the office today? What did she want from you?”

Oliver walked over, sitting directly on the sofa opposite, and soone imdiately handed her a cup of hot milk.

After downing the milk slowly, she replied to the old man,

“It’s a girl’s business. You’d better not ask too much about it.”

Upon hearing her refer to herself as a girl, Old White’s mouth twitched,

“Don’t think I don’t know your sches. You went to that girl’s birthday party yesterday, and today she cos to you, just trying to curry favor with the Jennings through her.”

While he spoke, his face suddenly darkened,

“You think by getting close to the Jennings, you have enough bargaining power to negotiate with , that I’ll hand the White family over to you? That’s impossible!”

The White family’s business is definitely to be passed on to the male heirs.

No matter how excellent a daughter is, once married, she belongs to soone else’s family.

Oliver listened to his words, casting a cool glance, not bothering to argue, rely saying,

“Since you know I went to her birthday party yesterday, you should also know that yesterday was Miss Jennings’ eighteenth birthday, and Samuel Chalrs from the Chalrs family and Derek Gibney from the Gibney family both attended.”

“So what?”

Old White was indifferent,

“It’s just a girl’s birthday party. Even sending a gift is generous enough; if the Chalrs and Gibney families choose to elevate her like that, aren’t they afraid she’ll be overwheld by such fortune?”

“Why should she be overwheld? I think she can handle it just fine. Instead of worrying about others, why not consider the current situation of the White family.

Yesterday, the Jennings, Chalrs, and Gibney families were all present, except for the White family. Do you know what this signifies?”

“What does it signify?”

Old White instinctively asked.

“It signifies that the three families no longer include you in their considerations.

Everyone attends, you don’t go; it doesn’t make you appear superior, it just makes the White family look isolated.”

Once Oliver finished speaking, with satisfaction, she watched as Old White’s eyebrows twitched. She added,

“So you should be thankful I went yesterday.”

Waving her hand, Oliver continued on her own, saying, “You’re welco.”

Saying this, regardless of her father’s discontent and anger behind her, she stood up and went upstairs.

Returning to her room, she sank into the massage chair.

After just two seconds, she sat up straight again, taking out her phone. Looking at the only entry labeled “Wen” in her special contact list, Oliver adjusted her mood slightly,

Finally dialing the person for a voice call.
