Chapter 518: Chapter 518: The Laws of the World

To avoid unpleasantness at the birthday party, the Jennings Family tacitly agreed to temporarily shelve matters regarding Kingston.

But now back ho, Michael Jennings was the first to react, glaring coldly at Kingston and gritting his teeth as he asked,

“You an you could speak all along?”

Kingston had already spoken publicly before, and now he did not intend to continue hiding it, yet he did not speak directly but took out his phone to type,

[Yes.]

The emotionless electronic voice of the young man instantly seed to ignite a fuse within Michael Jennings, whose face darkened as he reached out and, without a word, slapped Kingston’s phone away.

“Don’t speak to with that electronic voice of yours!”

Accompanied by Michael Jennings’s low shout, Kingston’s phone landed on the ground with a dull thud.

The Jennings Family mbers, just settling in, were taken aback by Michael Jennings’s actions, and even Old Sir Jennings uncharacteristically showed a dark expression,

“Second Son! Who allowed you to lay a hand on the child in my presence?!”

Michael Jennings was subdued by the reprimand from Old Sir Jennings, his forr arrogance slightly quelled,

“Dad, I didn’t lay a hand…”

Suppressing a breath, he looked at Old Sir Jennings,

“You heard it yourself earlier; he could speak all along! He’s deceived the family for so many years, even keeping it from , his own father!”

He, a musician, had a mute son, a matter he had long been ashad to speak of.

Michael Jennings had resigned himself to it.

After all, the child had been frail and difficult since he was young, and Michael Jennings had no high expectations for him.

But that didn’t an he could accept being deceived by his own child!

Michael Jennings was genuinely angry.

How did he end up with a son like this?

Faced with Michael Jennings’s anger, Kingston remained calm throughout, even when accused, showing more concern for his fallen phone.

Bending over, he was about to retrieve the phone, but a hand was quicker than him.

Scarlett picked up the phone, finding the screen shattered, revealing the force with which Michael Jennings had struck the phone.

Ignoring Michael Jennings’s incessant complaints, Scarlett looked at Kingston and said,

“This one’s broken, want to use mine?”

Kingston shook his head and simply took out another identical phone from his suit pocket, then typed,

[I have a spare.]

Upon hearing the familiar electronic voice, Michael Jennings’s anger flared up again, turning to Kingston once more,

“I told you not to…”

Before he could finish, a Yellow Talisman appeared before him.

Scarlett held up the talisman, her voice indifferent,

“Second Uncle, do you want to control your emotions yourself, or should I help you?”

Seeing the talisman, Lucas Jennings and his brothers’ eyes brightened.

Lucas: My sister is fierce, standing up even to the elders.

Chase: Seems like she’s not only targeting .

Adam: I recognize that talisman, Silence Talisman, she used it on the first ti…

Michael Jennings didn’t see the expressions of the younger generation beside them. When he heard Scarlett’s words, the muscles on his face involuntarily twitched twice.

But having already witnessed his niece’s “ferocity” today, coupled with his older brother being right there, Michael Jennings could only suppress his temper and say in a low voice,

“Scarlett, it’s your birthday today, I won’t argue with you. But disciplining Kingston is our family’s matter.”

“The Jennings Family is not divided, our family’s issues are my issues too.”

Scarlett was unwavering, her almond-shaped eyes coldly fixed on Michael Jennings, adding, “Besides, Kingston has helped before.”

Scarlett’s words made her stance clear and also reminded everyone of the incident at the party earlier.

Luca Jennings also glanced deeply at this nephew, then coldly at Michael Jennings,

“Second Son, Scarlett’s right. Kingston’s issue is the Jennings Family’s issue. You step aside for now.”

He finished, noticing Michael Jennings wanted to speak again, and said,

“If you can’t control your temper, let Scarlett silence you directly!”

At that point, it wouldn’t be a younger generation acting against an elder; it would be because I instructed it!”

No matter the ti, publicly striking an elder is unpleasant.

But if this elder brother were to discipline a younger sibling and have a daughter handle it, that’s acceptable.

Seeing Luca Jennings speak seriously, Michael Jennings didn’t want to be forcibly silenced by his niece in front of so many family mbers. He could only grumpily sit back on the sofa.

With Michael Jennings no longer complaining, everyone’s gaze returned to Kingston. Lucas was the first to speak curiously,

“So, why did Kingston play mute? And what happened back there? You just said shut up, and Ava Zimrman really did obey?”

Upon ntion of Ava Zimrman, Chase’s expression beca awkward, avoiding looking at Scarlett, but still listening intently to understand Kingston’s situation.

Adam, too, wanted to know.

“What is his situation? Is it because of this Child Life thing?”

The Jennings Family hadn’t forgotten that Kingston’s years of illness were due to Child Life.

Because he improperly used an immature surrogate Child to block the Child Curse, his Child Life couldn’t be resolved.

Under everyone’s gaze, Kingston only pursed his lips without speaking, instead looking at Scarlett and nodding to her.

Seeing this, Scarlett had to explain for him,

“The reason he could control Ava Zimrman is that he, like Ava Zimrman, has the Power of Word Spirit, capable of making words reality.”

Regarding Ava Zimrman, few in the Jennings Family knew.

Since it was necessary to explain the chaos Ava Zimrman caused at the birthday party, Scarlett straightforwardly disclosed Ava Zimrman and the Evil Master’s deeds and her abilities.

The Jennings Family then learned that Chase had been subjected to Ava Zimrman’s verbal suggestions, nearly causing his fate to change.

For a mont, everyone looked at Chase with complex expressions.

“No wonder… lately it seems Chase’s taste has declined sharply.”

“His deanor seems different too; I didn’t say anything.”

“Sa here; lately, I’ve found him irritating, wanting to punch him several tis.”

This last comnt ca from his mother, Flora Xalvadora.

Chase: …

No, isn’t this discussion supposed to be about Kingston?

Why did it turn into judging him?

It’s not his fault his taste changed.

Clearly, Harry Whitley’s taste influenced him!

Thinking about Harry, Chase suddenly recalled the days he turned into Harry… No, can’t think about it, just thinking makes his liver ache.

Fortunately, Scarlett didn’t continue dwelling on his near fate change, instead bringing the conversation back to Kingston after explaining Ava Zimrman’s situation.

She looked at Old Sir Jennings, her expression serious, and said only,

“Although Kingston possesses the Power of Word Spirit, he must never speak casually again unless absolutely necessary.”

For the laws of the world and its cause and effect are predetermined; gaining sothing inevitably ans losing sothing.

“Every word he speaks will correspondingly shorten his lifespan.”

This was the real reason Kingston chose to be mute all these years.
