Chapter 483: Chapter 483: The All-Powerful Jennings Family
Unlike my brother’s family business, the families of the other eighteen people either own shops or are company employees.
And today, without exception, they were all suddenly hit hard.
Families with local shops were suddenly asked to vacate their premises, with landlords even willing to pay a high breach penalty.
Company employees were suddenly fired or directly transferred to a branch in another city.
Even a few who were simply attending school locally couldn’t avoid it; though they couldn’t be expelled, their family’s jobs back ho were also affected to so extent.
In one short evening, none of the nineteen people were spared.
The small group of nineteen people was suddenly in an uproar.
[This is too much! The Jennings Family forced my family’s shop to be taken over! What gives them the right? Is there no law anymore?!]
[My dad got fired from the company! My brother-in-law even called ho to yell at !]
[My dad called too, asking what kind of person I offended, but I swear I didn’t do anything!]
[I worked so hard to secure my footing in Sea City! Now it’s all over!]
[The Jennings Family is practically trying to control everything! We can’t just let this slide!]
Several young mbers in the group were indignant, all feeling that Scarlett Jennings’s thods of reprisal were too lowly.
Is it impressive to have money?
Even if they harbored bad intentions at the ti, they didn’t actually act on it, right?
Scarlett Jennings wasn’t even touched by a hair on her head by them, so why go so far as to annihilate their families?!
Yet the Jennings Family left no evidence behind when doing this, not even involving any legal issues.
Led by my brother, a few of the young mbers couldn’t stand it and imdiately discussed exposing the Jennings Family’s ‘evil deeds’ online.
This plan was instantly refuted by a few slightly older mbers,
[If you’re going to court disaster, don’t drag us with you! The Jennings Family has already warned that if anyone dares to expose or insult Scarlett Jennings online, it won’t be as simple as just making us unable to stay in Sea City!]
Once these words were spoken, all nineteen mbers of the group felt noticeably apprehensive.
If they were sowhat indifferent before, the Jennings Family’s actions tonight really made them a bit fearful.
They dared not think of retaliating against the Jennings Family anymore, only venting their anger on other group mbers.
Thinking if it weren’t for soone instigating back then, how would they have stood together with those people, contemplating to harm Scarlett Jennings?
These people had ruined them.
For a ti, the group was filled with mutual insults and complaints, and if it weren’t online but offline, these people would have definitely fought each other.
Scarlett Jennings is unaware of Donovan Jennings’s handling of these nineteen people.
Because at this mont, she was just finishing a farewell dinner with the crew of the ‘Inspiration’ show.
The ‘Inspiration’ variety show ca to legendary prominence, blazing through the sumr, yet surprisingly they never shared a private al; Director Clark consulted the guests’ schedules in advance, thus arranging this al.
By the end of the dinner, it was almost nine o’clock.
Just as they were about to disperse, Ariel Zimrman suddenly said to Scarlett Jennings,
“Scarlett, Senior Brother Xander seems not to be in our guest group. Why not add him?”
Scarlett Jennings was ssaging Samuel Chalrs, and responded instinctively,
“Nathan isn’t in the group either.”
Not only Nathan wasn’t there, previously all who served as the sixth guest except Ianthe Lawson were not in the group.
Scarlett Jennings was puzzled by why Ariel Zimrman suddenly ntioned this, then saw her looking eagerly at her, her voice carrying an inexplicable tone of pleading,
“Add them.”
Scarlett Jennings wasn’t experiencing sweet girls’ pleading for the first ti; hearing this, she obediently added Gregory Xander to the group, and thoughtfully added Nathan White as well.
Can’t favor one over the other.
Ariel Zimrman obviously had no objections, and Gregory Xander slightly frowned when he saw he was added to the group, instinctively looking toward Scarlett Jennings.
He didn’t understand, the work was finished, why was he added in?
Ariel hurriedly explained this was to stay in touch in the future, as a proof that everyone had once gathered together.
Gregory Xander rely responded, “Probably won’t have much chance to stay in touch in the future.”
Unless you run into a ghost.
As he spoke, he gestured to exit the group.
Ariel Zimrman watched his actions, her gaze imdiately followed, directly asking him, “Do you dislike being in the sa group as ?”
Ariel Zimrman’s words made Gregory Xander’s hand suddenly pause.
Turning his head, he saw Ariel Zimrman looking like she was about to cry, prompting him to quickly retract his hand and seriously say,
“I don’t.”
“Really?” Ariel Zimrman was skeptical.
Gregory Xander had to explain again and promise not to leave the group casually. Only then did Ariel finally let it go and turned to bid farewell to the others.
anwhile, Samuel Chalrs’s car had arrived for Scarlett Jennings.
She and Ariel Zimrman walked out together, imdiately spotting Samuel Chalrs’s car, just as she was about to approach, Samuel Chalrs unexpectedly got out of the car.
Simultaneously, he took out a huge bouquet of… green roses from the trunk.
Scarlett Jennings was montarily stunned, while Ariel Zimrman excitedly grabbed her arm, shaking it.
“Ahhh, Mr. Chalrs is so romantic!”
In contrast to Ariel Zimrman’s excitent, Scarlett Jennings appeared overly calm.
After saying farewell to Ariel Zimrman, she walked towards Samuel Chalrs, looking at the flowers in his hand, her gaze inquiring.
Scarlett Jennings wasn’t ignorant of the aning of lovers gifting flowers.
But she and Samuel Chalrs, they were fake.
Samuel Chalrs t her obviously questioning gaze, simply said,
“Assistant said celebrating your work ending shouldn’t be empty-handed.”
Samuel Chalrs was telling the truth.
Originally, seeing the ti was right, he was about to co pick her up; as he went downstairs, his assistant heard he planned to go empty-handed, promptly shooting him a gaze of disbelief and complexity.
Only then did Samuel Chalrs realize that at such a ti, he should prepare sothing to celebrate for her.
Unfortunately, knowing too late left him no choice but to bring flowers.
Scarlett Jennings understood instantly upon hearing the assistant suggested it.
She thought as much, his type wasn’t soone who’d prepare such things.
The two got in the car, Scarlett Jennings placed the flowers in the middle between them, Araminta Gold and Liora Gold imdiately jumped out from their pockets, directly diving into the bouquet to play hide-and-seek.
Scarlett Jennings tilted her head watching them for a while, her gaze instinctively shifted from the bouquet to Samuel Chalrs beside her.
Because of the Golden Light, she often couldn’t see his expression clearly, sotis couldn’t grasp his thoughts.
Just like today’s bouquet.
If it wasn’t for their faux romantic relationship, he wouldn’t need to do this boyfriend thing.
Thinking about it, Scarlett Jennings suddenly asked him,
“Samuel, when do you think it’s suitable to publicly announce our breakup?”
Scarlett Jennings’s sudden question made the driver in front tremble violently on the steering wheel, then quickly stabilized.
Samuel Chalrs paid no mind to the driver’s previous instability, slowly turned his head toward Scarlett Jennings, seeing her earnestly asking for his opinion.
Samuel Chalrs’s lips curled into a cold smile she couldn’t see, but his voice revealed no emotions,
“We only just implicitly announced our relationship today; talking about breaking up now, do you think that makes sense?”
