Chapter 431: Chapter 431: Amber Livingston Really Saw a Ghost

These days, Scarlett Jennings made Isolde Garrison feel both fear and hatred.

She hated Scarlett for causing her death but couldn’t seek revenge on her.

And she feared Scarlett discovering her existence, then annihilating her completely.

When she was alive, she felt nothing unusual about Scarlett, but after becoming a ghost, she could clearly sense the aura of a Master emanating from Scarlett, an aura that filled her with dread.

If it were only Scarlett, Isolde might have managed, but the car Scarlett had just stepped out of carried an even more terrifying presence.

Just sensing it from afar made Isolde feel her soul body growing unstable.

“Scarlett Jennings…”

Isolde Garrison could only grit her teeth and mutter at the departing car before turning and chasing after the ambulance in another direction.

She couldn’t confront Scarlett, but Josiah… he wouldn’t escape her clutches.

Heh-heh.

City Hospital.

Josiah Garrison wasn’t seriously injured; compared to Nicholas Woods’s concussion, Josiah’s were just minor injuries.

But his remaining luxury car had been wrecked in the crash.

This was the third car he’d crashed in the past two months.

The family’s fixed assets were all gone now.

Sitting on the ergency room bed, Josiah Garrison clutched his head in agony.

He’d lost too much these past few days.

His parents were in prison, his sister had passed away, the family company had gone bankrupt—he had fallen to the status of an average man.

But he knew this wasn’t the end.

For so ti now, he had felt a heaviness on his shoulders, and even had dreams of Isolde.

In the dreams, he saw her as a child, clinging to him and persistently demanding piggyback rides.

Each ti he woke up, his shoulders ached terribly.

Moreover, his recent streak of misfortune was uncannily similar to the ti when he had been haunted by Quinn Sinclair.

Josiah suspected he was being haunted again.

That’s why, when he had seen Scarlett Jennings earlier, he had insisted the paradics let Scarlett bring him to the hospital.

He thought Scarlett could fix whatever was happening to him.

But she had refused—all while the paradics ca back looking at him like he was insane.

Josiah Garrison thought he was about to lose his mind.

He couldn’t understand how Scarlett could be so indifferent.

Just as he was brooding over this, a familiar sense of heaviness returned to his shoulders, plunging Josiah into a fresh wave of agitated despair.

On the opposite bed, another man curled up in his ergency room bed, trembling.

It was none other than Amber Livingston, who had been rushed to the hospital tonight due to sudden gastric spasms.

Since “Inspiration” aired, his popularity had soared rapidly, but along with it, his abilities had co under widespread scrutiny.

Skepticism about his practice involving out-of-body fairies had been constant, but fans of “Inspiration” were particularly ruthless.

They’d remark, “I know he’s faking, but I just love watching him put on a ridiculous show and deceive himself.”

Amber Livingston was left fuming but had no way to refute them.

Earlier tonight, during his live stream, so viewers egged him on to perform the Immortal Fox possession. He had absolutely no intention of pretending, but then his gastric spasms acted up, so he shut down the stream and called for an ambulance.

But,

If Amber had known he’d encounter that thing at the hospital, he would’ve rather died at ho than co here!

While lying in bed earlier reading ssages of concern from his fans, the two n injured in the car accident had been wheeled into the opposite bed.

At first, everything seed normal.

The man on the opposite bed had his wounds tended to, then sat there clutching his head in deep thought.

Amber hadn’t paid much attention.

That was until a gust of cold wind seed to blow through the room, and when Amber glanced up, he was startled to see a woman sitting on the man’s shoulders.

To be precise, it was a female ghost.

The ghost sat astride the man’s shoulders, her hands clasped around his head, softly murmuring “Brother.”

Amber was utterly paralyzed with fear at the horrific sight.

The scene was so terrifying that Amber montarily wondered if he was experiencing post-production hallucinations from filming too many episodes of the show.

Upon closer inspection, Amber realized he hadn’t just seen a ghost but recognized her face!

The man and ghost on the opposite bed were none other than the infamous Garrison siblings featured on the first episode of the show.

Amber had even perford the Immortal Fox possession for them back then!

Recognizing them nearly made Amber collapse.

The reason being, Amber had previously skimd comnts about Isolde Garrison’s death!

Which ant this wasn’t just a gastric-spasm-induced illusion.

He was truly seeing a ghost!

At this mont, Amber Livingston felt as shattered as Josiah Garrison across the room.

Amber couldn’t understand how he’d suddenly gained the ability to see ghosts.

But, truthfully, he was scared.

Others might not know, but Amber was fully aware that he had no Immortal Fox to protect him—not even the talisman the production crew had given him was on hand.

If that ghost across the room realized who he was, he… he’d be dood.

Desperate to appear calm, Amber shrank under his flimsy blanket as he shakily typed a ssage to Evander Simpson, begging for help.

He didn’t dare make a sound.

Minutes passed, but Evander still hadn’t replied.

Growing more anxious, Amber decided to ssage Scarlett Jennings instead.

Amber Livingston: [Master Jennings… I’m at City Hospital; I saw a ghost; help !]

The ssage was sent, and Scarlett replied quickly, though her words exuded an inexplicable calm:

Scarlett Jennings: [Seeing ghosts in a hospital is completely normal.]

Amber Livingston’s hands trembled as he typed, [That ghost is your foster sister.]

Amber couldn’t recall Isolde Garrison’s na but vividly rembered Scarlett’s “love-hate entanglent” with the Garrison Family.

On the other end of the line, Scarlett Jennings hesitated briefly at the ntion of “foster sister,” eventually figuring out he was referring to Isolde.

She hadn’t expected her recent encounter with Isolde Garrison to be followed so soon by Isolde’s appearance at the hospital.

And now Amber had seen her, too.

It had been about ten minutes since Scarlett had placed her order, yet the Spiritual Affairs dispatcher still hadn’t arrived to collect the ghost?

Even so, Scarlett wasn’t overly concerned.

Scarlett Jennings: […Didn’t the show give you a talisman?]

Isolde’s soul power was weak; a talisman would be sufficient protection.

Amber Livingston nearly burst into tears: [It’s at ho; I didn’t bring it.]

Scarlett was still calm: [It’s fine; you still have the Immortal Fox.]

Amber thought she was mocking him and almost cried, skipping the keyboard to send a voice ssage instead. Lowering his voice, he pleaded, “Sis, I was wrong! You knew I was faking all along—I won’t fake anymore, I swear, okay?”

He was only trying to make a living!

Scarlett Jennings: …

Scarlett had genuinely intended to inform Amber that the Immortal Fox would protect him.

How could she have predicted that Amber, even after dreaming of the Immortal Fox, would remain oblivious to its existence?

At this point, if Scarlett told him about the Immortal Fox, he’d probably assu she was being sarcastic.

Thinking quickly, Scarlett replied, “Soone will arrive shortly to take care of it. Just stay put for now.”

“Really?”

Amber’s cryptic mood instantly shifted to elation, his voice montarily loud enough to attract attention.

Perched on Josiah Garrison’s shoulders, Isolde Garrison abruptly turned her gaze toward Amber.

Amber shuddered violently, cautiously lifting the corner of his blanket.

The next instant, his brain went utterly blank, and his blood seed to drain from his body.

Because he saw Isolde’s ghost suddenly descend from Josiah’s shoulders.

And then, slowly but surely, she floated in his direction…
