Chapter 305: Chapter 305: Don’t You Have ? Chapter 305: Chapter 305: Don’t You Have ? Scarlett Jennings and Evander Simpson suddenly ran away one after another, and of course, Director Clark took it seriously.
Several guests were worried that sothing had happened and they all left the shoot to look for them.
It wasn’t easy finding them, but in the courtyard, only Evander Simpson was left.
In his hand, he still held a prop sword from the production crew, and it seed like there was blood on the sword?
“Evander, why did you two suddenly run off? Did sothing happen? Where’s Scarlett?”
The host asked, his eyes uncontrollably glancing at the sword in Evander’s hand.
It shouldn’t be possible, the crew’s swords are blunted.
It shouldn’t be a murder.
Evander was still guarding the Talisman Array that Scarlett had set up, and upon seeing a crowd from the production team approaching, he casually explained,
“There was a bit of a situation just now, my young friend Jennings… she went back to Sea City first.”
Although she had inford the Security Bureau to catch soone, Scarlett still decided to go back herself, as she had so questions to ask those behind the scenes.
After a quick trip to the hotel to grab her backpack, she let the assistant assigned by Donovan take care of her remaining belongings.
Once she left the hotel, just as Scarlett was about to hail a taxi to the airport, she saw a familiar car that still shone with Golden Light even in broad daylight parked in front of her.
The rear window rolled down, revealing Samuel Chalrs’s face enveloped in golden radiance.
“Get in the car.”
Scarlett was sowhat surprised, why had the big shot co again?
Was he coming to settle accounts?
As she thought about it, the air next to her stirred with Shadow Energy – it was Sophie Harper.
“Master Jennings, I especially notified your Taoist couple to co pick you up; am I considerate or what?”
While floating around, Sophie leaned in close to Scarlett with her face missing bits of Shadow Energy due to the recent brawl, giving her a sowhat pitiful look.
But she seed to not care at all, wearing an expression that read [See how useful I am?], eagerly awaiting Scarlett’s gaze.
Scarlett: …
I’m afraid I’m unable to rid myself of this Ghost Servant.
Yet this thoughtfulness…
Thanks, but it’s not that great.
“Don’t just go find him without my permission next ti.”
Before getting into the car, Scarlett did not forget to whisper a warning to Sophie, then paused, feeling that her tone was a bit too harsh, so she added softly,
“He’s busy.”
Having acknowledged Samuel as her Taoist couple, she had to continue the pretense.
Otherwise, this Big Ghost might really lose her constraints and turn to bother Samuel Chalrs again.
Sigh.
If I had known, I might as well have struck her with lightning and killed her from the start.
I shouldn’t have listened to her backstory.
Sophie was unaware of Scarlett’s regret for not directly striking her down, she only heeded the warning, rolled her eyes earnestly, and nodded her head.
“I understand!”
Although Master Jennings is young, she’s quite considerate of her own Taoist couple.
I get it.
Getting into the car, Scarlett subconsciously glanced at Samuel’s expression.
Although she couldn’t see clearly through the light, she vaguely felt that he probably wasn’t angry.
She stared hard, and Samuel, who would feel it unless he was dead, slightly turned towards her and asked,
“Have you taken her as your Ghost Servant?”
Scarlett felt a headache at the ntion of Ghost Servant, but after Sophie had unhesitatingly helped her fight a group of ghosts earlier, she didn’t outright deny it and reluctantly nodded,
“She’s very clingy.”
Speaking of which, he added, “Once I make the contract with her, she won’t dare to approach you without my permission.”
“Mm.” Samuel Chalrs responded softly, then suddenly said, “Having a Ghost Servant by your side is also quite good.”
At the very least, you’re not left dealing with things all on your own.
Scarlett Jennings thought he found the idea of having a Ghost Servant flashy and couldn’t help but explain the problems with keeping one to him.
First and foremost, if she kept a Ghost Servant, she would have to be responsible for its cultivation.
This was also why Scarlett Jennings had always refused before.
After all, she herself still struggled with her own cultivation.
Samuel Chalrs rarely heard her talk about these things. When she ntioned sharing Spiritual Energy with a Ghost Servant for cultivation, he didn’t think much of it and simply asked,
“Don’t you have ?”
He was referring to her previous comnt about the purity of the Spiritual Energy around him, but as soon as the words left his mouth, he felt as though they sounded a bit too intimate.
Intimate to the point of being sowhat ambiguous.
Scarlett Jennings clearly also felt the subtlety.
Especially just after the morning’s rumors about their “romance.”
A subtle silence filled the back seat of the car, and after a long while, Scarlett Jennings vaguely acknowledged him, then fell silent again.
It was only when the car reached the airport that Scarlett Jennings thought Samuel Chalrs was only dropping her off, but unexpectedly, when she got out, he followed her into the airport terminal.
Scarlett Jennings was truly surprised this ti, “You’re going back to Sea City with ?”
Samuel Chalrs looked at her and nodded lightly, “I’ve finished dealing with things over here.”
In fact, he had a dinner engagent that evening, a gathering organized by the governnt officials responsible for negotiations, and he had agreed to make an appearance.
But then, the appearance of Big Ghost and hearing that Scarlett Jennings was suddenly in a hurry to return to Sea City made him wonder what could have happened, so he simply handed over the remaining matters to the vice president in charge of the local project and changed his flight last minute to accompany her back.
Scarlett Jennings, hearing his indifferent tone, assud that it was just a coincidence that he was on the sa flight back and did not think too much about it.
However, as they were boarding, she couldn’t help but ask Samuel Chalrs, seeing the assistant ticulously allocate adjacent first-class seats for them,
“Shouldn’t we avoid giving cause for speculation now?”
She didn’t mind travelling with Samuel Chalrs, but after their “romance” was just exposed in the morning—though suppressed from hot searches—it seed a bit too blatant, didn’t it?
Upon hearing this, Samuel Chalrs rely said,
“I’m not in the habit of deliberately restricting my behavior for the sake of others’ gazes.”
While saying this, he provocatively glanced sideways at her,
“Do you?”
Of course, Scarlett Jennings couldn’t afford to do so.
Thus, the two boarded the flight openly and sat together without reservations, even exiting the airport in unison upon arrival.
Scarlett Jennings’ face was almost universally recognized in Sea City, so when she and Samuel Chalrs suddenly appeared at the airport together, their handso and beautiful pairing sparked countless imaginations among passersby.
Only Donovan Jennings.
Upon hearing that his sister had suddenly returned, he thought sothing might have happened and ca specially to pick her up, only to see the two walking shoulder to shoulder out of the VIP passage.
Donovan Jennings felt a mont of darkness before his eyes, his usually smiling face instantly grew solemn.
His peach blossom eyes fixed on Samuel Chalrs with a glint of coldness rising within.
He hadn’t settled accounts with the man yet, and now he was openly accompanying his sister!
Heh…
As if he were dead.
Without showing his feelings in front of Scarlett Jennings, Donovan Jennings quickly returned to his usual smiling deanor, stepped forward with long strides,
“Scarlett, your big brother is here to take you ho.”
As he said this, he reached out to take Scarlett Jennings’ carry-on bag and with a nudge of his shoulder, he straightforwardly bumped Samuel Chalrs away from her side.
Samuel Chalrs’ cool gaze swept over, but Donovan Jennings acted as if completely unaware of his presence, warmly pulling Scarlett towards their family car,
“Co on, you must be exhausted flying back alone. Just in ti to rest at ho for a couple of days, no need to rush back to school.”
