Chapter 231: Chapter 231: Which Window Did God Close for This Family Chapter 231: Chapter 231: Which Window Did God Close for This Family Lucas Jennings and Luca Jennings walked at the back, glancing ahead along the never-ending steps as they followed Nathan White’s direction. They pursed their lips slightly.
The steps seed endless, but in reality, an array barrier had been set up on the mountain path, making the already long road seemingly infinite.
This was likely to prevent anyone from accidentally wandering into the academy.
Since Nathan White had been arranged to guide them, there was no reason he wouldn’t know about this.
The only explanation was that this was an entrance exam for new students.
Looking around, Luca seed alright since he often worked out, but so guests and staff, including Donovan Jennings, were already showing signs of fatigue.
Scarlett Jennings thought for a mont and then took a talisman paper from her backpack.
The cara stayed on Scarlett, and seeing her move, zood in to capture it imdiately.
She was seen heading to one of the steps with the talisman and pasted it on a step. Then she gathered a few stones from nearby and arranged them around the paper.
“Sis, what are you doing?” Donovan Jennings noticed Scarlett’s actions and couldn’t help asking.
The guests ahead also stopped and turned to see Scarlett squatting and playing with stones.
Scarlett kept her head down, placing the last stone, and explained in a calm voice,
“Breaking the array.”
“Huh?”
Not only was Donovan puzzled, but the staff and live broadcast viewers were also confused.
Evander Simpson was stunned, finally realizing what was happening, and quickly looked at Nathan White,
“Is there a barrier on the path?”
Nathan White smiled sheepishly and nodded.
Then whispered, “But Scarlett just broke it.”
Everyone present looked bewildered, and the audience in the chat was just as perplexed.
[What do you an, broke the array? Where was the array? Where’s the spell? The seals? The process??]
[Huh? She broke the array on site? I didn’t catch it properly, did anyone record it?]
[I saw clearly, our girl did it so casually, feels like I could do it too.]
[High-level magic often needs only the simplest thods…]
[This Taoism Academy is amazing, to have a barrier!! Aren’t they afraid of soone intruding, treating us as outsiders!!]
[Don’t doubt it, the academy does treat you as outsiders; think about how they enroll less than thirty students a year.]
[Aaah, it’s my first ti seeing an array, huh? It’s already broken? Where?]
Neither the millions of eyes in the live chat nor the staff figured out what had changed around them.
It was Donovan who suddenly said, “The steps have beco shorter.”
Everyone was still confused, Amber Livingston looked at the steps, seemingly unchanged, and asked, “Where are they shorter?”
Donovan smiled habitually, “There were seven hundred ninety-one just now, now there are five hundred ninety-four.”
Everyone: ????
What on earth?
When did you count, how co they didn’t know?
The live chat audience were also shocked and bewildered.
[How did he get the exact number of steps instantly? I have to count each one painstakingly.]
[Impossible, I don’t believe it! Let count!]
[I just used a specialized counting app to scan, it’s indeed five hundred ninety-four steps!!]
[Woo hoo… is this the legendary genius?]
[Sorry for the show-off, my hubby is just good at math.]
[Curious to know which window God shut for this family…]
Though there was so disbelief, as everyone continued climbing, they indeed began to see hints of the academy.
Excitent filled everyone at the renewed hope, and spirits lifted as they carried on.
As everyone climbed higher and higher, Sea City’s Taoism Academy, nowhere to be found even on satellite maps, finally unveiled itself on the live broadcast.
Behind the majestic and heavy stone gate stood ancient buildings built along the mountain, with a rustic, grand aura. Blue-tiled white walls and red columns intertwined like they had withstood the test of ti yet stood as strong as ever.
Towards the peaks, more pavilions erged, barely visible.
In the distance, a bell’s chi seed to be heard, the ancient and solemn sound slowly echoing through the mountains, flowing through the woods to everyone’s ears.
Whether it was the crew or the live audience, all were in awe of the mountainous scene.
It was their first ti seeing such a “university.”
This was no ordinary school; it could easily be mistaken for a national heritage site.
Many local Sea City residents weren’t even aware of such a place existing nearby.
Director Clark was especially excited, hastily instructing one of the accompanying caran to focus on capturing the academy’s architecture. He planned to compile a separate montage later!
As the group moved forward, they saw a moderately-sized stone mountain, and beneath it rested an enormous dragon-headed stone turtle approximately two ters long.
The caraman imdiately circled the dragon-headed stone turtle, capturing every detail, while Evander Simpson explained,
“This is Benedict Beast, the sixth son of the dragon in legend, also known as Baxiá, fond of carrying heavy loads.”
Ariel Zimrman remarked, “I think I’ve seen sothing like this, but they usually carry stone tablets on their backs and aren’t this big.”
“That’s the divine turtle carrying a tablet, many places use the divine turtle as a base for inscriptions, derived from Benedict’s image. In legend, Benedict carries the Three Mountains and Five Mountains.”
Amber Livingston listened to Evander’s explanation and thought she might need to brush up on this topic later to join in the conversation.
As she thought, she glanced again at the unusual patterns on the giant turtle’s shell, instinctively reaching out to touch it.
However, before she could touch it, a stern voice stopped her.
“Stop! Do not touch Benedict Stone Body!”
Amber’s hand jerked back, and everyone turned their heads instinctively.
They saw a young man in a robe similar to Nathan White’s striding over, his expression stern as he stared coldly at the group of guests,
“Who are you? Don’t you know that filming is prohibited at Taoism Academy?!”
Before the crew could respond, Nathan White hastily stepped forward, carefully calling,
“Senior Brother Xander, these are the new students, including Scarlett Jennings and the guests of ‘Inspiration,’ the filming within the academy has been approved by the principal.”
Upon hearing Scarlett Jennings’ na, Senior Brother Xander’s expression twisted, and he turned, asking in a deep voice,
“Are you Scarlett Jennings?”
Facing the unfriendly gaze, Scarlett calmly replied, “Do you know ?”
“Not even enrolled yet, you’re already leveraging your mystical techniques to show off on live broadcast, and now you’re bringing people to the academy for a show, utterly disgraceful.”
The young man spoke harshly, and before Scarlett could respond, the live chat exploded.
[Who is this guy? Why is he ddling so much?!]
[Who’s he calling a show-off?! Our girl was saving lives on a live broadcast while you were hidden sowhere!]
[The shoot was approved by your principal, if you have complaints, complain to Director Clark, why bla our girl?!]
Donovan, Luca, and Donovan Jennings all frowned, ready to argue with him,
But before they could act, Scarlett slowly asked in return,
“Are you the academy representative?”
Senior Brother Xander paused, “No.”
Scarlett glanced at him and then said seriously,
“Then co tell this nonsense when you beco the academy representative.”
