After all, it was a refined swamp, and although they lost the ability to create malice, they still unconsciously followed their origin.
Only to see the swamp coalesce into a mass, quickly rging with Shu’e’s true form.
Perhaps due to the return of these powers, Shu’e, which was originally shapeless under the Five-Colored’s swirl, barely forced out its original human form.
He allowed himself to be dragged along by the Phoenix Flas of the Five-Colored, watching as the fla barrier transford by the Phoenix Divine Soul blocked wave after wave of the Heavenly Thunder.
Shu’e watched quietly, a smile suddenly forming at the corner of his mouth,
"In the end... You still chose to die with ."
Clearly the Divine Soul had already been rescued, yet it stubbornly returned to entangle with him endlessly.
Phoenixes and such are, as expected, detestable.
The Five-Colored ignored his words, using all its power to resist the force of the Heavenly Thunder.
After all, it was a thousand-year-old Phoenix Divine Soul, and although weakened by Shu’e’s thousand-year-long devouring, the Heavenly Dao couldn’t bring him down with thunder in a short span of ti.
Shu’e allowed him to stand before him, mocking once more,
"Give up, no one can stop what the Heavenly Dao wants to do."
Upon discovering the cooperation between the Otherworld Heavens and Scarlett Jennings, Shu’e realized that the Otherworld Heavens intended not just to use him to cleanse the Otherworld, but ultimately to have him erode the domain of the Ten-tailed.
It was already too late by the ti he realized.
And now, even with the conspiracy exposed, the Otherworld Heavens wouldn’t abandon its plan.
Even as a Phoenix, the Five-Colored couldn’t resist the power of the Heavenly Dao.
He couldn’t even take him away from the Otherworld to the sealing ground.
Shu’e thought this and said it too.
The flas of the Five-Colored Divine Soul had already been half extinguished by the successive strikes of the Heavenly Dao, yet he still did not retreat. Hearing Shu’e’s sarcastic words, he simply replied in a low voice,
"Without absolute confidence, I wouldn’t easily let her lift the seal."
Almost as he finished speaking, in the domain, fighting the Otherworld Heavenly Dao borrowing Jasmine Hamilton’s body, Scarlett Jennings’ palm suddenly lit up with a spiritual light.
A familiar spiritual light, accompanied by a black token, slowly rising from her palm.
Both Scarlett Jennings and "Jasmine Hamilton" were stunned, and saw the token representing the Underworld Pass suddenly fly towards the domain’s exit where the Five-Colored was.
Upon exiting the domain, the token burst into a bright light.
The next mont, under the endless Heavenly Thunder, a gigantic Ghost Gate Pass suddenly opened.
The giant Ghost Gate Pass enveloped the Five-Colored desperately resisting the Heavenly Thunder, along with Shu’e behind him.
Also conveniently blocking the continuous descending thunder fire overhead.
Through the domain barrier, everyone saw a tall figure slowly erging from the Ghost Gate.
Familiar traditional Tang suit, long hair, and facial features so exquisite it was hard to distinguish male from female, walking slowly towards the Five-Colored.
His gaze fell on Shu’e, struggling to reform behind, as a complicated emotion flickered in Ivan’s eyes. After a long mont, he quietly spoke,
"As per our agreent, the nineteenth level of the Underworld has been cleared out. You can bring him into the Underworld at any ti."
Looking at Shu’e’s gloomy face due to Ivan’s appearance, the corner of the Five-Colored’s mouth finally curved into a smile,
"Today, I send Shu’e, ford by the hundred thousand malicious thoughts that escaped from the Underworld back then, back to the Underworld."
In this way, the karmic debt incurred by the forr Lord Yama six thousand years ago could finally be repaid today.
Almost as soon as he finished speaking, the Five-Colored’s figure instantly transford into a fire-colored Phoenix, sweeping behind him the unable-to-resist Shu’e, and charged into the Ghost Gate.
Seeing this, the Heavenly Dao intended to stop them, sending the Heavenly Thunder bypassing the Ghost Gate Pass towards the Five-Colored and Shu’e behind him.
Ivan’s eyes briefly scanned, and he lifted his hand in a wave.
The Heavenly Thunder was neatly blocked outside the Ghost Gate.
Ivan raised his eyes, seemingly looking towards the Otherworld Heavenly Dao through the domain barrier, simply stating,
"You may be the Heavenly Dao of this realm, but according to the agreent made between the Heavenly Dao and the Underworld back then, those who enter the Ghost Gate must not be ddled with by the Heavenly Dao."
With the situation developing to this point, the Otherworld Heavenly Dao no longer intended to tangle with Scarlett Jennings.
With a thought, "Jasmine Hamilton’s" figure appeared before the Ghost Gate, coldly glaring at Ivan.
"The Otherworld operates under my rules. At the ti of the initial split, it was completely separated from the Underworld. You have violated my rules by forcefully opening a Ghost Gate in the Otherworld."
Knowing full well that this was the Heavenly Dao borrowing a body, Ivan seed unconcerned, listening to the threats with a slight shrug in indifference, an air of defiance,
"Oh, then sue ."
Not waiting for the Heavenly Dao to respond, he continued,
"However, I am no longer Lord Yama and not under the Jurisdiction of the Underworld. The agreents made between the Heavenly Dao and the Underworld do not constrain ... If you do wish to sue, you can take it up with the current Lord Yama."
Ivan carelessly shifted the bla to the current Lord Yama, and this indifferent attitude angered the Otherworld Heavenly Dao imnsely.
Only to see "Jasmine Hamilton’s" fingertip gather Golden Light, which then shot at Ivan with several Dharma Seals.
Ivan’s brow furrowed slightly, raising his hand to catch the first three Dharma Seals, preparing to brace himself for the remaining ones.
He noticed Golden Light and Shadow Energy swirling around him and at his side.
In the next instant, chains of Golden Light securely locked three of the Dharma Seals.
The remaining three were blocked entirely by a strong Ghost Power.
The forr due to Scarlett Jennings erging from the domain with Ivan.
The latter coming from another formidable force within the Ghost Gate.
As wisps of green smoke issued from within the Ghost Gate, a tall figure lood faintly.
He didn’t step out, but any who had seen him would recognize him.
Lord Yama, Zaraiah.
Standing inside the door, he called out to Ivan at the entrance, his voice cool and commanding, "Ivan, you’ve violated the rules by opening a Ghost Gate in the Otherworld. Return at once?"
Although the tone was majestic and cold, there was no hint of displeasure or intent to punish.
Ivan hadn’t planned to confront the Heavenly Dao directly; Zaraiah’s presence here signified that the Five-Colored and Shu’e had already successfully reached the nineteenth level.
Therefore, he replied for once in alignnt with the man’s words, "Understood."
With that said, he turned to re-enter the Ghost Gate.
But was halted by Scarlett Jennings’ shout, "Ivan, stop!"
Ivan’s steps paused briefly but he did not turn back. Scarlett Jennings asked in a slightly cold voice, "What about the Five-Colored and Shu’e?"
Back facing her, Ivan spread his arms wide, "As you can see, they have entered the Underworld."
He continued, "Shu’e was created by the union of the hundred thousand malicious thoughts that escaped from the Underworld. Back then, I let them go, and now, naturally, I must bring him back to the Underworld to be suppressed."
For not even the Underworld’s seal on malicious thoughts could be eroded by Shu’e’s evil intentions.
This was the final sealing ground that the Five-Colored found for Shu’e.
Upon seeing Ivan appear, Scarlett Jennings knew he must have reached an understanding with the Five-Colored.
Ivan was determined to return the hundred thousand malicious thoughts represented by Shu’e back to the Underworld for suppression; the Five-Colored was now sending him back.
But... she sensed it wasn’t that simple.
If rely returning to the Underworld could suppress Shu’e, it wouldn’t have road the world for six thousand years.
Ivan... was hiding sothing from her.
"rely sending him back to the Underworld will suppress Shu’e again?" Scarlett Jennings stared intently at his back, calling out, "Ivan, don’t lie to ."
Ivan, who had been turned away from her, sighed gently, finally turning to face her.
The person before him was always so perceptive.
He looked at her sincerely saying, "Just sending him back won’t suppress him again... The artifact used to suppress the hundred thousand malicious thoughts back then was destroyed. Now, to suppress Shu’e again, a new artifact is needed."
He continued, "The Phoenix Divine Soul is that artifact."
