Chapter 1105: Chapter 1105: Luca Jennings Excluded
Over the past two years, Scarlett Jennings and Donovan Jennings have been in the Capital tropolitan, and Magnolia Hearne, as a “study companion,” has spent most of her ti there as well.
This has been tough for Luca Jennings.
With his wife and children not around, he seized every opportunity to fly to the Capital tropolitan, wishing he could relocate all his work there.
Now that everyone is back, Luca Jennings is reluctant to continue staying alone in an empty house.
He waited at the door for a while, and soon the door opened, and in the next mont, soone was stuffed into his arms.
It was Qi Qi.
In front of his daughter, Luca Jennings naturally couldn’t hug his wife tightly; besides, having her daughter away from ho for so long, he, as a father, naturally wanted to show so concern.
Luca Jennings thought this way, but as soon as he glanced over, seeing Magnolia Hearne’s slightly reddened eyelids, all concerns and greetings were instantly thrown out of his mind.
His expression turned serious as he asked her,
“What happened?”
Did sothing happen over in the Capital tropolitan?
Or… did she face so grievance from her mother-in-law?
Magnolia Hearne only said, “I’ll tell you when we get back.”
Then she turned her head, signaling to Scarlett Jennings, “I will handle everything from here; you take care of yourself.”
Despite the damage to her Divine Soul, Magnolia Hearne felt she was sowhat remiss as a mother when she returned and had to worry about elder matters.
Scarlett Jennings obediently agreed and then added, seeing Luca Jennings appear as if being excluded by the mother and daughter,
“About what we talked about earlier, you could let Dad help you.”
Upon hearing that there’s sothing involving him, Luca Jennings suddenly felt energized.
After coaxing Scarlett to rest well, he led Magnolia Hearne back to their room.
Scarlett did not concern herself with what ca after, knowing her Divine Soul was damaged; she slept quite long and woke up the next day already by noon.
Old Sir Jiang had received instructions earlier from his daughter-in-law not to disturb his granddaughter’s sleep, so upon seeing her awake, he had the maid bring up the stew.
“Luca and Qi Qi returned to the Capital tropolitan this morning. The stew was prepared under your mother’s instructions.”
Old Sir Jiang said and paused, then added,
“Your grandmother watched over it all morning; the timing is just right.”
Scarlett Jennings’ movents slightly paused as she took the stew, then nodded, “Thank you, Grandma.”
She then took it and drank.
Having initially addressed her grandma as Old Lady Jiang and never changing it since, Old Sir Jiang had heard his wife lant this over the past couple of years.
But he didn’t ddle in this matter; having initially decided to cold shoulder this granddaughter, this outco was sothing she should endure herself.
He would not use the elder’s status to press Scarlett to forgive.
Scarlett liked Old Sir Jiang’s non-interfering attitude.
After drinking the soup and eating, Scarlett Jennings thought of going to see Samuel Chalrs.
Since she needed to recuperate, she naturally chose a place with the purest spiritual energy for recovery for better effect.
Old Sir Jiang knew his granddaughter was special, and let her be.
Going upstairs, he found his wife craning her neck, seemingly looking at him, or maybe at what was behind him. After a long while, she asked,
“Did she go to the Chalrs Family?”
“Yes.”
“Did she drink the soup?”
“Yes.”
“Then did she say anything?”
This ti, Old Sir Jiang finally stopped simply saying ‘yes,’ looking at his wife as if intentionally,
“She said, thank you, Grandma.”
Old Lady Jiang’s wrinkled cheeks twitched slightly, and after a while, she turned away angrily.
She knew this girl was hard-hearted indeed!
Couldn’t even bring herself to call ‘Grandma’, yet drank the soup she prepared!
Humph!
…
anwhile, in the Capital tropolitan.
A day later, Magnolia Hearne returned. Reflecting on yesterday’s confrontation with Emily Hearne, it was no lie to say her feelings were complicated.
Looking at Luca Jennings beside her, she said, “You wait outside for .”
The clan grounds did not allow non-clan mbers to enter freely, though Aaron Hearne did deliver dowries as a “family mber” back then. But so in the clan didn’t welco humans.
Moreover, Magnolia Hearne did not wish for Luca Jennings, a normal person, to beco deeply involved with the Demon Clan.
Luca Jennings had been to the Hearne Gardens before, knowing it wasn’t easy to enter, and didn’t insist, only saying,
“I’ll wait outside for you.”
Then added, “I had everything prepared, but don’t force yourself.”
Magnolia Hearne was easily anable with Luca Jennings, responded affirmatively, and proceeded inside.
The vermilion door automatically closed after Magnolia Hearne entered, not treating Luca Jennings standing outside as a valid target for entry.
Luca Jennings, unfazed, walked back to the car and waited quietly.
Inside, Magnolia Hearne went straight to the courtyard where Emily Hearne resided.
Everyone knew she and Scarlett Jennings had returned to the Jennings Family in Sea City; so expressed surprise that she’d co back so soon but dared not ask about her affairs.
After all, asking wrong would earn them a scolding.
Though young in demon years, she even scolds Elders.
Emily Hearne was sowhat surprised by Magnolia Hearne’s return, not expecting her to co for punishnt, since all grievances had been aired yesterday.
What could prompt her hasty return, she wondered if sothing went wrong with Scarlett?
As Emily pondered, she heard Magnolia Hearne finally speak, saying,
“I know everything now.”
Emily Hearne raised an eyebrow, hearing her continue,
“About you and my father, Scarlett let see it all.”
Saying this, Magnolia Hearne raised her hand, tossing out the fox fur Scarlett Jennings used to store mories.
The fox fur transford in mid-air into spiritual lights, then replayed the mory fragnts recorded in Scarlett Jennings’s Divine Soul.
Suddenly seeing those familiar faces in the area outside her Mind Domain, Emily Hearne’s eyes trembled.
She watched that person, who treated her so carefully, entangled with her expectantly, her thoughts seemingly pulled back to that ti.
The most mundane yet happiest ti in her fox life.
The image flashed by lightly before being swiftly gathered by Magnolia Hearne, looking at Emily Hea with persistent eyes but lacking yesterday’s confrontational attitude.
“I always thought… you didn’t love him, not even .”
Magnolia Hearne said, “If I hadn’t seen it myself, I wouldn’t have known you once had such a ti together; I… I misunderstood.”
Looking at her, Emily Hearne observed as the other lowered her eyes slightly, her voice seemingly constrained,
“I just don’t understand… why you’ve never been willing to explain to ? Why you refused to clear things up?”
Emily Hearne listened quietly for a long while, only asking her,
“What do you want to hear from ?”
Magnolia Hearne raised her eyes, focusing intently on her without hesitation,
“Why did you abandon us? Why didn’t you save him?”
And why have you been indifferent to all these years…
Her questions seed anticipated, yet Emily Hearne did not answer imdiately, instead maintaining her deanor, she looked at her and countered,
“Didn’t you know everything already? Why ask ?”
Using a mory fragnt to trick her?
Magnolia Hearne: …
Getting caught out, Magnolia Hearne was unfazed.
Scarlett said deceiving was the first step; if gentle thods failed, then proceed to the second step.
Use force.
