Scarlett Jennings abruptly looked at Susan, with a montary hint of surprise and subtle inquiry in her eyes.

Just in that instant of distraction, the Talisman Light she unleashed landed on the man along with Susan’s Phoenix Fire.

When the man discovered his hand and face suddenly engulfed in flas, he imdiately let out a wail of agony, but it was just a wail.

Because as he scread and tried to slap away the flas burning his face and right hand, he found his body stiffened in place as if out of control.

The girl originally held by him had already been scared senseless. Seeing him just howling and not moving, she hurriedly struggled to escape from his side.

Seeing her legs weakened by fear, a brave lady, though frightened, stepped forward and grabbed the girl, pulling her into the circle of onlookers.

Then everyone witnessed an even more terrifying scene.

At the mont the girl escaped the man’s grip, the flas, which had originally only accurately enveloped the man’s head and hand, suddenly spread throughout his body.

In an instant, the man beca a figure burning in flas.

Oddly enough, he scread but still didn’t move.

Originally planning to roll up their sleeves to act, Dashiell and Lionel Strickland paused upon seeing this, realizing it was Scarlett and the kid who took action, they couldn’t help but remind,

"Scarlett, won’t this be noticed as odd?"

These flas don’t seem normal.

Scarlett Jennings heard his words and thought he had a point.

Normally a person on fire wouldn’t stay motionless, so she imdiately waved her hand, releasing the Immobilization Technique carried by the Talisman Light, and the man’s body finally seed to break free from the restraints and quickly ca to life.

He began to roll on the ground, screaming, trying to extinguish the flas on him, but the fire did not diminish at all.

Although bystanders had just witnessed this man assaulting his girlfriend in the street and attempting murder, they couldn’t bear to see a living person burned to death in front of them, so nearby rchants brought fire extinguishers and sprayed him from several directions.

Although ordinary fire extinguishers shouldn’t be able to extinguish Phoenix Fire, continuing to burn like this would certainly cause panic.

Scarlett Jennings glanced at Susan, pressing her hand on his shoulder,

"Take it back for now."

Susan was puzzled, why take it back when the malevolent intent hadn’t been burnt away?

But since his sister said so, he obediently complied.

As the dry powder enveloped the man’s body, the flas originally entwining him were taken back. To the surrounding bystanders, it appeared as if the fire extinguishers had put out the fire on him.

Judging by the previous situation, it seed certain that the man would suffer extensive burns, it was just a matter of the extent of them.

What surprised the onlookers was that aside from obvious redness, the man’s body showed no signs of burns, and even his clothes were only slightly singed.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, yet the man continued to writhe in pain and howl on the ground.

One onlooker couldn’t bear it and shouted to him,

"Stop howling, the fire on you has long been extinguished, your skin is just a bit red, nothing serious."

But the man kept wailing incessantly.

He certainly knew the fire on him had been extinguished.

But... even though the fire was out, why did he feel as though he was still painfully burning?

That kind of pain wasn’t just from the skin and body, it felt more like... from the soul.

It seed his soul was still tornted by the fire.

The bystanders thought he was pretending, but Dashiell and Lionel Strickland knew it wasn’t that simple, instinctively looking at Scarlett Jennings and Susan.

Scarlett Jennings then explained,

"Phoenix Fire doesn’t burn the body, it burns the soul."

The Fire Thunder she had summoned with Phoenix Power could invoke the Heavenly Dao to descend Heavenly Thunder, naturally, Phoenix Fire wasn’t an ordinary fla.

Dashiell was montarily stunned upon hearing this, then understood and nodded,

"Then that’s fine."

Otherwise, if a person is hard, the Security Bureau would definitely send over a ticket later.

Burning the soul wasn’t problematic.

A man who hits won should suffer so hardships.

While they were talking, soone by the roadside saw the man in apparent agony and truly not faking, still made an ergency call for help, but also called the police.

Although people couldn’t understand why a person suddenly self-ignited out of nowhere, they hadn’t forgotten the man’s previous actions.

Just the act of beating soone in public like that makes an assault charge inevitable, not to ntion his attempt to murder by knife!

While waiting for the police to arrive, the onlookers didn’t imdiately disperse, so elder sisters and brothers stayed with the girl to comfort her, but more were intrigued by the eerie scene of the man’s spontaneous combustion.

Then, as the crowd was talking, a young man dressed in trendy attire suddenly stepped forward, speaking in a laid-back and casual manner,

"Spontaneous internal combustion of the human body is a common occurrence; it’s quite normal."

The young man who approached to speak was Dashiell.

Although everyone knew mystical powers existed, setting soone on fire would cause public uproar that even the Security Bureau wouldn’t be able to handle.

As a considerate and attentive dragon, Dashiell would naturally help to cover it up as much as possible.

Perhaps his tone was too matter-of-fact, so the originally discussing bystanders couldn’t help but be surprised,

"This, this is normal?"

How co they weren’t aware of this explanation?

Dashiell’s expression beca increasingly serious and earnest, looking at a few people, he nodded, "There’re cases online, and there’s even a specific condition called spontaneous human combustion syndro; it’s a type of illness."

The bystanders were even more shocked, "This is an illness?"

Dashiell nodded again, then with a gaze suggesting they lacked knowledge, advised them,

"Read more books."

The bystanders: ...

Suddenly, they were disdained by a young guy.

What’s key was that the young guy’s appearance didn’t suggest he was a book lover.

Dashiell promoted his "spontaneous human combustion theory" to the bystanders, then left the crowd of onlookers before the ambulance and police arrived, walking back to join Scarlett Jennings and the others waiting a short distance away, confidently lifting his chin,

"I’ve handled things, let’s go, eat chicken."

...

The group proceeded casually into Kent’s Fort, where Braxton Weaver, attempting to show off, expertly took out his phone and used an app to decisively place an order, exuding an air of experience and composure,

"Alright, once the number is called, we can pick up the al."

He deliberately glanced at Susan while saying this, adopting a senior stance, attempting to teach him survival skills in the human world.

Just like Dashiell had demonstrated to him before.

However, to his disappointnt, Susan didn’t seem particularly curious about his ordering skills.

Nor did he show any desire to learn from him.

Braxton Weaver felt a small bit of disappointnt inside.

Scarlett Jennings ignored his mild emotions, simply looking at Susan; it was inconvenient to ask much outside, but now seated, she finally posed her question,

"Susan, can you sense malevolent intent?"

Susan heard this and nodded obediently without hesitation, "I can."

He said,

"That man just now, he wanted to ruin that girl’s face, so no one would want her, she’d have to stay by his side obediently."
