Scarlett Jennings had no idea what Emily Hearne had planned for the second round of the competition.

Even if she knew, she wouldn’t care.

As soon as the first round ended, Violet Allen imdiately ca over to Scarlett Jennings and insisted on joining her group for dinner.

Hannah Hearne saw this and promptly pulled Callum Yuan and Lan Jing to join in as well.

Violet couldn’t help but remind them,

"You’re not in the sa team; wouldn’t it be inappropriate to have dinner together?"

The main thing was, not far from Hannah and the others, three demons from the Mystic Regulation Office were still glaring at them with intense resentnt.

They looked quite displeased.

But Hannah didn’t care. "You’re not in Scarlett’s team and you can have dinner with them, at least we’re legitimate classmates."

She paused for a mont and added,

"I’m still Scarlett’s cousin once-removed!"

Her words carried a slight hint of claiming territory.

Violet didn’t pick up on that and instead looked appreciative, "That’s so cool."

Lan Jing, listening nearby, was baffled, "What’s cool about it?"

Violet explained, "The idea of different generations going to school together is just really cool."

Especially since this generational classmate isn’t even human!

Hannah’s ears perked up at Violet’s words; this Violet actually understood her!

She imdiately put aside all competitiveness towards her and turned to her with enthusiasm,

"My na is Hannah, and you must be Violet, right? Do you like reading novels?"

The two of them sohow started chatting.

Violet was a chatterbox, loved gossip, stargazing, and reading novels; she could chat with anyone about anything.

Gregory Xander wasn’t interested in such mysterious bonds between girls and turned to ask Scarlett Jennings,

"Do you need us to co along when you check in on the other two to ensure they fulfill their contract items?"

Scarlett just shook her head, "No need, I can do it myself."

It was just to ensure the fulfillnt of mutual contracts, not a troubleso affair.

Even though Violet was chatting with Hannah, she kept one ear on Scarlett’s situation and imdiately ca over to remind her,

"I know about those two contestants trading signs with the Ghost Market custors. That Wesley Zimrman shouldn’t be a problem, but the item Parker Xenos promised might be a bit tricky to acquire."

Violet seldom hosted such a big event, so she had inquired about all the contestants beforehand and had so understanding of their basic situations.

Parker Xenos ca from a line of Masters but fell short compared to an age-old Mystical Sect family, so their family heirlooms were quite limited.

Since he was from the North City Taoist Academy, Violet knew his family quite well.

The item he wrote on his sign as a trade was, accurately speaking, a family heirloom.

Violet didn’t think the Xenos Family allowed him to trade with that object, more likely, Parker had impulsively chosen what he thought was the most attractive item to pass the first round.

Violet was concerned that Scarlett might face so obstacles.

After listening, Scarlett simply said, "No worries, I have a way."

Besides, being part of the Mystical Sect, the other party surely knew that no Master would want to risk breaking a contract with a ghost.

Even if they tried to renege, she wouldn’t directly help the ghost snatch it, but she’d surely find a way to "handle" him.

The next day, Scarlett followed the address Donovan Jennings had given her and sought out the two people one by one.

Samuel Chalrs accompanied her.

Scarlett naturally didn’t refuse, treating it as a date.

According to the agreent with the Ghost Market clients, they only needed to find the contestants holding the sign to claim the promised item, as the sign bore their signatures, leaving no room for deceit.

As Violet had ntioned, Wesley Zimrman was very cooperative; he prepared the item imdiately after the match, summoned the ghost, and handed it over proactively.

The trade was completed, and the contract automatically disappeared on the spot.

When it ca to Parker Xenos, he looked visibly troubled as soon as he saw her,

"Miss Jennings, it’s not that I don’t want to honor the contract, but I didn’t bring the item with this ti. It may take so ti..."

Scarlett’s expression remained unchanged, "You can use Spiritual Affairs Express, it’s convenient for both pick-up and delivery."

Parker scratched his head, looking troubled,

"The thing is, my family isn’t very accessible with Spiritual Affairs Express..."

He struggled for a while and decided to co clean,

"To be honest, the item is not in my possession; it belongs to my father. I haven’t figured out how to tell him about this yet..."

He continued,

"Just give a few more days; I’ll head ho as soon as the three rounds of the competition are over and personally deliver the item to the demon ghost. I wouldn’t dare shirk the contract you’ve set for us."

Scarlett looked at him, her face calm,

"Brother Xenos, we’re all from the Mystical Sect, and I trust you understand the consequences of breaching a contract with a demon ghost. If you fail to fulfill your promise, not just you but your father, the actual owner of the Magic Artifact, will bear the consequences.

As for my responsibilities, if you fail to uphold the contract with the demon ghost, as per Spiritual Affairs regulations, you will be blacklisted."

Parker felt his facial muscles twitch, and his face turned a bit sour as he looked at Scarlett,

"I told you, it’s not that I’m not willing to do it; I just need so ti! We’re fellow sect mbers; do you have to be so aggressive?"

He said, his expression growing more frustrated and impatient,

"You have talent and strength, thriving in the Security Bureau, Mystic Regulation Office, and even Spiritual Affairs, but not everyone has it so easy! I’m not like you; I earned this spot in the competition through my efforts, step by step, you..."

Before he could finish, he was suddenly interrupted by a voice next to him,

"What are you trying to say?"

The one who spoke was Samuel Chalrs, who had remained in the background until now.

He accompanied her here without any intention of intervening in how she handled things.

But it didn’t an he could sit back and watch soone speak so brashly in front of her.

Samuel simply stared at Parker with his piercing black eyes, his presence intimidating,

"Are you implying she didn’t get here on her own rits? Just because you’re diocre, you think everyone else should be diocre like you?"

What did he know of her supposed "easy" life?

Samuel, even when he was still the old Samuel, never engaged with inconsequential people.

Upon his awakening, he beca even more indifferent to his surroundings, perhaps not even realizing his detached outlook stemd from the fact that he was treating everything around him with a superior’s aloofness.

Yet now, he rarely let his imposing aura loose, pressing Parker Xenos into silence.

After quite a while, he coldly instructed, "Apologize to her."

Cold sweat trickled down Parker’s back as he managed to regain his voice, "I’m sor..."

Before he could finish, he sensed a wave of Shadow Energy at the door.

The next second, a spirit courier in black clothing and a black hat appeared at the door, holding a box.

The courier accurately locked onto Parker Xenos inside the room and spoke formally,

"Spiritual Affairs Express, Parker Xenos, please sign for this."

Parker paused, bewildered as he stepped forward, "I didn’t place an order..."

The courier responded,

"It was ordered by your father, Reid Xenos."

He handed the item directly to Parker, confirming he took it before continuing,

"Besides this, your father has another express request."

Parker instinctively clutched the box to his chest and was about to ask what it was when the spirit courier suddenly swung his hand without expression.

And then, with a gust of shadowy wind, a resounding slap landed hard on his face.
