By the ti ng Fu dragged ng Yi out of the Huo Family’s house and into the car, he realized that his back was drenched enough to drip with water, and his forehead was covered in dense, fine sweat.
ng Yi next to him was still causing trouble.
"Dad, open the door and let out; I want to kill Nan Yu!"
Slap!
ng Fu slapped her again to make her quiet down.
"ng Yi, have you made enough of a fuss? You almost ruined my big plan!"
ng Yi, clutching her face, looked utterly wronged.
"Dad, you’ve never hit since I was a child. Today, for that Nan Yu, you’ve slapped three tis. Are you smitten with that vixen, or is she your illegitimate daughter that you’ve kept outside?"
ng Fu, fuming with anger, glared fiercely. "ng Yi, watch your mouth! How did I raise such a thing as you?"
ng Yi, tears welling up in her eyes, said, "Luo Ji is dead, and you won’t let take revenge. I don’t want to live anymore."
ng Fu, watching the Huo Family’s house grow more distant behind them, suppressed his raging fury and spoke in a calm and pleasant tone.
"ng Yi, don’t provoke Nan Yu in the future. The person backing her is not soone you can afford to offend. If there’s a next ti, I will personally break your legs and cut off our father-daughter relationship."
Hearing these words, ng Yi looked at ng Fu’s expression and knew that every word he said now was true.
She froze on the spot, looking utterly dumbfounded.
"Dad, isn’t it just the Huo Family behind her? What’s so great about the Huo Family? Her husband is just a cripple, and the Huo Family isn’t as wealthy as the ng Family. What’s there to be afraid of?"
ng Fu gave her a fierce look and said exasperatedly, "I sent you to Nan Qingqing’s side, and you still don’t know this?"
ng Yi stiffened, a look of confusion on her face.
"Idiot," ng Fu cursed. "Nan Qingqing is the Nan Family’s biological daughter, not the Nan Family’s young lady at all."
ng Yi’s eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at him.
ng Fu spat out his final word.
"The real Nan Family young lady is Nan Yu!"
ng Yi felt as though she’d been punched hard, her vision darkened then cleared, and she trembled, asking, "Dad, how do you know this?"
ng Fu took a deep breath, looked out the window at the buildings flying by, and a shadow passed through his eyes.
"Last ti I went to a banquet with Nan Luzhi, he had too much to drink. I was taking him back to the Nan Family ho, and on the way, he talked in his sleep, and I overheard him."
ng Yi’s mind slowly cleared, and thinking of all the promises Nan Qingqing had made to her, she couldn’t help but swallow.
"Dad, can Qingqing still be the Nan Family young lady? She promised that she would make the Ghost Doctor’s closed-door disciple."
ng Fu glanced at her, "Today I got news that the Nan Family is secretly dealing with Nan Yu’s case at the police station. It’s likely the Nan Family is becoming suspicious of Nan Qingqing. Nothing is certain until the dust has settled."
"That’s why I told you not to offend Nan Yu and to also maintain a good relationship with her. We’ll decide what to do after everything is settled."
ng Yi touched her sore face, her head now fully clear, understanding ng Fu’s intentions.
"Dad, I was impulsive today and nearly ssed things up, but Luo Ji was killed by her. I want to take revenge for him..."
ng Fu sighed, "ng Yi, revenge doesn’t need to be rushed. Wait for the results. If Nan Yu doesn’t beco the Nan Family young lady, then you can easily do whatever you want to her for Luo Ji’s revenge."
He looked towards the road ahead and said nonchalantly, "Even killing her won’t be a problem."
ng Yi licked her dry lips, a glimr of anticipation in her eyes.
"No, death is too good for her. I want her to live a life worse than death!"
