"Elder sister-in-law," Ruoi said, "my sister has always been spoiled. She just accidentally cut her hand a little, suffered a minor injury, but she insisted on being hospitalized and made my adoptive mother wait on her day and night."

Nan Qingqing sighed heavily, her eyes brimming with tears, all out of compassion for Sheng Ruoi.

Upon hearing this, Li Xue’s brows furrowed. "Your adoptive mother really has it tough."

Nan Luzhi nodded in agreent. "It’s all mine and Ruoi’s fault for spoiling Nan Yu too much since she was young, which led to her bad temper. But at the end of the day, she is our biological daughter, and no matter what, we can’t bear to be harsh with her or scold her... Ah, how embarrassing it is to have you see this."

As Nan Zhuoyuan observed Nan Luzhi’s act as a good father, he thought of the information he had found and sneered inwardly.

"Mr. Nan, which hospital is your daughter at?"

Nan Luzhi’s eyes shifted, a trace of suspicion flashed across his chubby face, then quickly vanished as he said nonchalantly, "She’s staying at the Traditional Chinese Hospital."

Li Xue took note silently, saying, "Why don’t you transfer her to the Nan Family’s private hospital? She’s your daughter, and also Qingqing’s adoptive sister, which makes her half our benefactor. We’ll arrange the best doctors for her."

Nan Zhuoyuan nodded, "Mr. Nan, Qingqing is my little sister, so your daughter is almost like my half sister too. We can’t take dical treatnt lightly; why not move her to the Nan Family’s hospital?"

After hearing this, Nan Luzhi was certain they were all for the sake of Nan Qingqing, not targeting Nan Yu, and let down so of his guard.

He laughed heartily, "My daughter just has a small injury, it’s not serious. She’ll be back in two days, so we won’t bother you."

Nan Zhuoyuan nodded, "Mr. Nan, raising Qingqing hasn’t been easy for you. If there’s anything we can help with, just say the word, and we’ll assist if we can."

Nan Luzhi nodded, "Okay."

Li Xue then took Nan Qingqing’s hand, displaying a close sister-in-law affection.

"Qingqing, ask your adoptive mother if you’re almost ho. I rember you ntioned you really like a dish she makes. I want to ask her how it’s done, so when you co ho, I can cook it for you often."

Nan Qingqing felt the importance they placed on her, and her heart ward, "Elder sister-in-law, you are so kind to ."

anwhile, Nan Yu had arrived at the entrance of the Nan Family’s ho.

Just as she got out of the car, an unhappy voice ca from behind her.

"Nan Yu, what are you doing back here?"

Turning around, Nan Yu saw Sheng Ruoi’s haughty deanor, her eyes filled with disgust for her.

Her lips pressed tightly, "Mrs. Nan, I’ve co to retrieve my stolen belongings."

Sheng Ruoi blocked her path, laughing mockingly, "Nan Yu, who do you think you are? Your useless things—who would bother stealing from you? Stop spouting nonsense and causing disgust!"

"You are no longer a mber of the Nan Family. Don’t think that just because you’ve clung onto the Huo matriarch, you can find any excuse to co back here and make a scene. While I’m in a good mood, get lost quickly, or don’t bla for being unkind to you!"

Nan Yu masked the hurt in her eyes, lifted her chin slightly, and a determined light flickered in her eyes. "Mrs. Nan, what exactly are you hiding? Why are you so afraid of my return?"

A flicker of guilt passed through Sheng Ruoi’s eyes, but quickly her face darkened, and fearing that those inside would hear the noise outside, she lowered her voice.

"You refuse to leave, is that it?"

She cast a sharp glance behind Nan Yu.

"Do it!"

Nan Yu’s heart pounded, and just as she was about to react, her mouth and nose were forcefully covered by a cloth, a pungent sll rushing towards her forehead.

The next second, her limbs went limp, her vision darkened, and she passed out completely.

anwhile, Sheng Ruoi, watching her collapse, showed a hint of viciousness on her face and gave an order.

"Tie her up and throw her in the dark room in the backyard. After the distinguished guests have left, throw her back to the Huo Family."
