Chen Li, startled by her own thought, had an expression that montarily shattered on her face.
Nan Yu was sent to the countryside by the Nan Family at the age of thirteen, and thereafter she grew up in a remote and impoverished area.
Her exceptional dical skills could not have been learned before she was thirteen, but could only have been acquired during her ti in the countryside.
And to learn such potent dical skills, it was indeed possible that they were taught by Gu Gongming!
Chen Li got into her car and drove ho quickly, her mind entirely consud by thoughts of Gu Gongming, Nan Yu, and Gu Chuxin’s interconnected relationships.
Gu Chuxin publicly claid that she was the Ghost Doctor and knew the Three Mysterious Needles which ant the Ghost Doctor had always been teaching her dicine.
If that person was Gu Gongming, having raised his daughter from a young age to be the next Ghost Doctor, he could have passed on all his dical knowledge to Gu Chuxin.
After returning to city A and living in seclusion in the countryside, he t Nan Yu, took her as his disciple, and taught her his dical skills.
In a flash, the relationship among the three of them beca clear in Chen Li’s eyes.
She murmured to herself, "If that’s the case, then why did Gu Gongming die suddenly? And why wouldn’t Nan Yu acknowledge Gu Chuxin?"
Too many puzzles, like a fog before Chen Li’s eyes, left her clueless about the answers.
Chen Li pressed her lips together, "I’ll start by verifying if Gu Gongming really was the Ghost Doctor and whether Nan Yu was his disciple."
She decided to start her investigation from Gu Gongming’s funeral!
At that mont, the sky darkened once again, as if heavy clouds were about to crush the city.
Soon after, a torrential rain poured down, accompanied by faint purple lightning.
Boom!
A loud thunderclap reverberated through the sky.
That also woke Gu Chuxin from her sleep.
Gu Chuxin sat up abruptly in bed beside a muscular man who noticed she was awake.
The man imdiately leaned in, encircled her waist, and kissed her neck.
"Chuxin, having a nightmare again?"
Gu Chuxin looked at the heavy rain outside and the successive flashes of lightning, and the image of Gu Gongming coughing up blood and dying in horrible agony erged before her eyes.
She said to her assistant Ye Yu behind her, "I dread again of the night my dad died."
Ye Yu paused in his act of kissing her neck, stiffly lifted his head, and looked at Gu Chuxin’s cold profile.
"It’s been two years since he died, and besides you and , no one knows what happened that night; you don’t have to be scared of others finding out it was us who did it."
Gu Chuxin’s eyes slowly settled on Ye Yu, with a hint of mocking laughter in her gaze.
"Ye Yu, you’re wrong; it was you who poisoned him that night, not ."
The expression on Ye Yu’s face visibly stiffened as he forced a smile, "Chuxin, I did it all for you."
Gu Chuxin turned around, raised her hand, stroked his face, with a sowhat flirting motion.
"Ye Yu, what are you afraid of? Only the two of us know about it. As long as you don’t say anything and I don’t say anything, nobody will find out how that old man died."
"As long as you stay by my side forever, I guarantee that even if my junior sister digs up the body, she won’t find out you were the murderer."
Ye Yu grasped her hands tightly, leaned in, puckered his plump lips, and fiercely kissed her lips, stirring passionately.
He didn’t forget to move his hands upwards.
"Baby, my whole person belongs to you; how could I not be with you for a lifeti?"
He bit her neck, "Even if we die, we must die together!"
