Li Chongbai’s brows furrowed tightly as he looked at Nan Yu, the concern in his gaze deep and intense.

"Yingying, have you been running a high fever before? You haven’t fully recovered, yet you’ve been staying up late every day and working tirelessly. Now, your body is struggling to keep up and you’ve started to have persistent high fevers," he said.

He sighed, "I’ll administer two acupuncture needles, and you lie down on the couch to rest for a while."

Nan Yu’s complexion was flushed, with sweat constantly beading on her forehead. She pulled back her wrist and shook her head, "Uncle Li, there’s no need for acupuncture, I’ve just had an antipyretic shot, it should be better soon."

Li Chongbai stubbornly grabbed her and forced her to sit on the only couch in the ward, "You need to rest right now, just lie down for a bit."

He turned his head toward Pei Yu and instructed, "Pei Yu, bring my Silver Needle."

Pei Yu imdiately took out a box of silver needles and handed them to Li Chongbai.

"Teacher, here you go."

Li Chongbai took them, and despite Nan Yu’s refusal, he swiftly drew a silver needle and inserted it into several acupoints on her head.

"Yingying, just half an hour, you’ll feel better soon."

Fearing that Nan Yu would resist, Li Chongbai firmly pressed down on her shoulders to ensure she wouldn’t leave.

Unable to stand from the couch, Nan Yu gave in at this point. She silently closed her eyes, leaned against the wall, and pretended to rest.

Li Chongbai turned to write a prescription and handed it to Pei Yu, "Pei Yu, go get this dicine. Make sure they prepare it within half an hour."

"Okay, Teacher," Pei Yu responded.

Accepting the prescription, Pei Yu imdiately left the ward to fetch the herbs.

Li Chongbai, with his hands clasped behind his back, walked back and forth in the ward, occasionally glancing at the resting Nan Yu and observing the ever serene Duan Zhu.

Although Nan Yu had her eyes closed, she couldn’t fall asleep at all and could clearly sense Li Chongbai pacing around.

She slowly opened her eyes and looked at Li Chongbai, "Uncle Li, please have a seat."

Seeing Nan Yu open her eyes, Li Chongbai said anxiously, "Did I disturb you? I’ll sit down now, you continue to rest."

Nan Yu’s face was pale as she lightly shook her head, "I can’t sleep, it’s not because of you."

She paused for a mont before asking the question that had been troubling her heart.

"Uncle Li, how did you co to know Ghost Doctor Chang Ming?"

Rembering the three acupuncture techniques of the Ghost Doctor that Nan Yu knew, Li Chongbai began, "Six years ago, I t Chang Ming by chance in City C and we worked together to cure a patient."

"From that encounter, we occasionally kept in touch, I would say we were friends," he continued.

"But two years ago, one night, he suddenly sent a ssage, urging to go to an address."

He paused, took a deep breath, and then continued, "By the ti I got there, he had already passed away, leaving behind two letters, one for and one for his disciple."

Upon hearing this, Nan Yu involuntarily clenched her fists. Her eyes reddened as she pressed on, "What did the letters say?"

Lost in mory, Li Chongbai didn’t notice the urgency in Nan Yu’s emotions.

"His letter to was to hand the other letter to his disciple and to secretly bury him, saying that from then on, he was no longer the Ghost Doctor and that no ntion of ’Ghost Doctor’ should be made on his tombstone."

At these words, Nan Yu felt a throbbing pain in her heart, so intense that tears welled up in her eyes.

She held back the sourness at the tip of her nose, trying to keep her voice sounding normal.

"Uncle Li, do you still have the other letter?"

Li Chongbai shook his head, "No, the other letter was taken away by Chang Ming’s disciple before I even saw it, and then he disappeared without a trace."

"It was only from the letter Chang Ming left that I knew he had a disciple, and that he’d left a letter for that disciple," he explained.
