Nan Yu returned to the bridal chamber and headed straight upstairs.
Upon entering the room, she slled a distinct fragrance.
She imdiately covered her nose, stepped out of the room, and her cheeks turned red in an instant.
Nan Yu hurriedly went downstairs and drank two glasses of ice water to suppress the Aphrodisiac she had inhaled.
Then she turned to Nanny Wang and asked, "Nanny Wang, was it you who sprayed that fragrance in my room?"
Nanny Wang, who had been looking worried, suddenly began to evade eye contact and stamred, "Young Madam, it was another servant who accidentally sprayed it. The window has been opened to ventilate. Can you still sll it?"
Nan Yu saw right through her, realizing she was lying.
She tried to speak calmly, "Nanny Wang, don’t spray it again next ti; it can be harmful to the health."
Nanny Wang flashed an awkward smile, "Understood, I’ll warn that servant not to spray it again."
Nan Yu withdrew her gaze, "Just opening the window isn’t enough. Have soone put on a mask and clean the room again to completely remove the fragrance, otherwise I won’t be able to sleep tonight."
Nanny Wang complied, "Okay, Young Madam."
Then she hurried upstairs, as if fleeing, to arrange the cleaning of the room.
Nan Yu still felt a heat within her body and drank another glass of ice water.
After finishing her drink, she turned around to see Qi Ming standing behind her, quietly watching her.
Nan Yu looked at him with puzzlent, "Uncle Qi, is sothing wrong?"
Qi Ming pulled out a box from behind him and handed it to Nan Yu.
"Young Madam, I don’t know who it was, but yesterday soone left a package at the doorstep with your na on it, so I brought it in."
Nan Yu’s eyes changed the mont she saw the black package.
She quickly took it from Qi Ming, carefully examined the delivery slip, and her lips lifted slightly when she recognized the handwriting.
"This package was sent to by a friend."
Having said that, she took the package and went upstairs.
Qi Ming watched her hurried departure, a strange glint flashing in the depth of his eyes.
Since Nan Yu couldn’t return to her bedroom, she entered the study next door.
The study was filled with the scent of books, and the whole room was very quiet.
She drew the curtains, turned on the light, placed the package on the desk, and carefully began to cut it open with scissors.
As soon as she opened it, she saw familiar handwriting.
"Boss, the crisis is over, and I’m now in A City."
At the bottom right corner, there was a signature, "X".
Seeing this ssage, Nan Yu felt at ease.
Beneath the note was a black box.
Nan Yu slowly opened it and saw a black smartphone inside.
She imdiately turned it on; it was empty except for a contact labeled "X".
Nan Yu dialed straight away, and after three rings, the call connected.
X’s voice ca through from the other end.
"Boss, you’re finally back. Did anything happen to you?"
Nan Yu could hear bustling noises on his end, like he was at a marketplace.
"I’m fine. Where are you now?"
X’s cheerful voice responded.
"Boss, I found a gig selling fish and am currently in a marketplace. I’m safe for now and will co to find you in a few days once I’m sure everything’s settled."
Nan Yu thought for a bit, "Okay, I’ll wait for your ssage."
After hanging up, she morized the number in her heart, then formatted the phone, turning it into a useless brick.
She then tossed the smartphone into the bottom drawer of the desk and locked it.
She stood up and left the study.
Stepping out of the study, Nan Yu intended to check on the cleaning progress in the bedroom. Just as she reached the doorway, she heard their gossiping voices.
"There’s been a huge incident at the Nan Family, the Nan Family’s wife has beco a vegetative state."
