anwhile,
inside the cabin.
Nan Qingqing stood at the window, constantly watching the hungry wolves pacing back and forth outside, her eyes filled with traces of ruthlessness.
"Qingqing, the wolves haven’t left yet, what should we do?"
Sheng Ruoi looked at those pairs of eyes glowing with a green light and felt a chilling fear in her heart, her tone trembling.
Nan Qingqing soothed her, "Don’t be afraid, as long as we don’t open the door, we’ll be fine, since these wolves are only walking around outside."
Sheng Ruoi’s face was pale, her body trembling, and she couldn’t help but let resentnt bubble up within her.
"It’s all Nan Yu’s fault; had she died in the countryside back then, we wouldn’t need to bother coming here, taking such a huge risk!"
"If I had known this star of disaster was so unlucky, I would have thrown her into the fire to burn to death during the hospital fire that year!"
Upon hearing this, Nan Qingqing took Sheng Ruoi’s hand and revealed a well-behaved smile.
"Mom, in three more hours the sun will rise, and these wolves will surely leave, then we’ll be out of danger."
She paused, "But it’s hard to say for Nan Yu. The people Dad hired are desperate thugs; killing Nan Yu would be very easy for them."
"Even if they don’t kill her, they’ll definitely co back here and run into the wolves guarding the door. Do you think she could deal with these wolves all by herself?"
Sheng Ruoi imdiately felt less anxious, "You’re right, we’re hiding in the cabin, these wolves can’t possibly break in, but Nan Yu is outside. As long as she cos back, she’s bound to be either dead or injured."
Nan Qingqing spoke in a ghostly voice, "Then when the ti cos, Xiao Wang will just have to fire a couple more shots. I don’t believe her luck is that good; she can’t possibly survive this!"
Xiao Wang, holding a hunting rifle, stood there like a robot, his eyes devoid of any emotion, icy cold.
Sheng Ruoi also looked towards the only exit, a hint of anticipation rising in her eyes.
"I suddenly hope that Nan Yu didn’t die down there. I want to see her co back here and get torn apart by these vicious wolves. That would be very interesting to watch!"
No sooner had she finished speaking than a fierce light appeared in her line of sight.
Then ca the roar of a motorbike.
Sheng Ruoi’s eyes lit up, "They’re back!"
Nan Qingqing squinted her eyes and saw only Ren Xingzhou riding the motorbike alone, with a person tied to the back seat, the specifics unclear.
Sheng Ruoi saw it too and asked, "Is that Nan Yu’s corpse?"
Nan Qingqing looked closely and said coldly, "No, that’s Zhang Tao."
Sheng Ruoi froze in place, her voice shrill, "They killed Zhang Tao?"
In the darkness, it was difficult to see clearly, but Nan Qingqing, observing no movent from Zhang Tao, couldn’t help but nod.
"It seems so."
Sheng Ruoi said with a smile, "Now Nan Yu is a murderer."
Right then, Ren Xingzhou’s voice ca from outside.
"What are you all doing here? Hurry up and get back to the mountains!"
Ren Xingzhou could be seen riding his motorbike at the door, turning back and forth, trying to disperse the wolves.
But the wolves were undeterred, their eyes’ green glow even deeper, eerily unsettling.
Ren Xingzhou, looking at these abnormal wolves, was startled.
"Damn it, these wolves are poisoned too; they’re going mad."
Realizing this, he thought of Nan Yu behind him and hastily shouted down the path, "Nan Yu, don’t co up, get away quickly!"
The next second, Nan Yu erged at the end of the road.
Inside the cabin, Sheng Ruoi spotted her and imdiately turned to Xiao Wang, "Xiao Wang, no need to wait, aim for Nan Yu’s head."
"Fire!"
