Crack!

The pitch-black sky split open like the ground beneath, the blinding light mingling with the deafening thunder.

Lying on the ground, Nan Yu could see, by this flash of lightning, the Lion King’s sharp fangs clearly, still stained with blood — presumably from the hand it had bitten off earlier.

Raindrops the size of beans pelted her face, causing pain, and her arms felt as heavy as if filled with lead, utterly unable to lift.

Just as the scalding fangs touched her icy neck, a thick sense of impending death enveloped her.

Nan Yu’s eyes shifted, her instinct to survive peaking.

Swoosh—

A flash of silver streaked by.

With all her might, she pulled out the Silver Needle hidden at her waist and, without hesitation, thrust it into the lion’s neck.

In an instant, the Lion King’s body beca rigid, as if its Immobilization Acupoint had been pressed, unable to move.

Nan Yu quickly pushed its body away, struggling to roll over and get up from the ground.

She gasped for air, her face washed by the relentless rain.

With a self-deprecating chuckle, she said, "It’s lucky that I once read a book on the dical treatnt of wild beasts and vaguely rembered that this acupuncture point can temporarily immobilize a lion; otherwise, I would have died here today."

Seeing that the Lion King was incapacitated, the other two lions bared their fangs and growled threateningly at Nan Yu.

The roars of the beasts, alongside the peals of thunder, rang clearly in Nan Yu’s ears.

She drew two more Silver Needles from her waist, eyeing the two nacing lions.

"I won’t hurt you; I can save you."

After saying this, she flicked her wrist, creating a flower-like motion in the air.

The next second, two flashes of silver shone forth.

The necks of the two lions were pierced with Silver Needles, just like the Lion King, frozen in place.

Nan Yu wiped her face again, "I haven’t encountered such heavy rain in a long ti; I need to find a place to take shelter and help you with the poison."

She scanned the vicinity with all her remaining strength and spotted a large rock about ten ters away, empty below—an adequate natural shelter from the rain.

With all her energy, Nan Yu dragged the three lions, one by one, under the shelter of the large rock.

After ensuring they were not exposed to the heavy rain, Nan Yu finally breathed a slight sigh of relief.

She grabbed the Lion King’s front leg and took its pulse.

After checking it, she did the sa for the other two lions.

Once she had taken the pulses of all three lions, Nan Yu’s expression turned grave, and a hint of displeasure crossed her eyes.

"The person who poisoned you is truly malicious; if there had been even one gram more, your hearts would have stopped on the spot, and you would have died violently."

Nan Yu hurriedly took out the Silver Needles from her waist, targeted those acupoints, and inserted them one by one.

"But don’t worry; I will remove the poison and restore you to your forr state."

The Lion King could not understand her words, but from her actions, it could see that she was trying to save them.

The initially glaring hostility slowly softened, and their clear black eyes beca much gentler.

Nan Yu patted its big head, "Just wait half an hour, and you’ll be fine."

The heavy rain continued, and the wind against her skin made her shiver uncontrollably.

Nan Yu stomped her feet, quickly rubbing her icy hands together and then pressing them against her freezing face, trying to warm up her whole body.

"With the downpour so heavy, the sky so dark, and being in the depth of the forest, I can’t see anything; I can’t make it back on my own."

"As the night temperature drops, if Brother Ren can’t find , I’m afraid I’ll freeze to death in the wilderness."

A look of unwillingness appeared in her eyes, and with tears in her eyes, she laughed, "I haven’t yet told my biological parents that Nan Qingqing is fake, that I’m their real daughter—am I going to freeze to death here?"
