Nan Qingqing’s eyes brimd with a hint of murderous intent.

"Mom, Nan Yu can’t just be seriously injured, she must die here, and not be allowed to step half a foot back into City A."

A sinister smile hung on Sheng Ruoi’s face, "Mom clearly understands, your dad told that to prevent any possibility of failure, he instructed to tamper not only with the amulet but also to sar a lot of powder on her body."

"And just in case of any accidents, I specifically had the driver, Xiao Wang, to secretly sprinkle more powder around that wooden cabin as well."

Nan Qingqing recalled how Sheng Ruoi had hugged Nan Yu tightly as soon as she saw her, and it turned out to be an act of saring the powder on Nan Yu.

"Mom, you’ve really thought of everything."

Sheng Ruoi’s smile deepened, and her eyes filled with boundless hatred.

"With her being so cautious, without a few extra precautions, it’s too easy for her to discover them."

Nan Qingqing hesitantly said, "Mom, won’t your eagerness to sign raise Nan Yu’s suspicions?"

Looking at Nan Qingqing, Sheng Ruoi’s eyes conveyed indulgent affection.

"Qingqing, whether she’s killed by a frenzied beast or by a hunting gun, as long as Nan Yu dies here today, what does it matter if she grows suspicious?"

"Plus, my agreent to let her work at our company has beco empty talk, and the 2% of shares she wanted to take with her will return to our hands."

"In the future, those shares, as well as everything of the Nan Family’s and all of the Nan Corporation’s assets, will be yours!"

Nan Qingqing hugged Sheng Ruoi’s arm and leaned her head on her shoulder, laughing excitedly, "Mom, you should say it’s all for our family of three."

Sheng Ruoi’s eyes twinkled with mirth as she nodded in agreent.

Suddenly, the car window was knocked on.

Nan Qingqing imdiately sat up straight and wound down the window to look at the driver, Xiao Wang, outside.

She revealed an innocent smile, "Xiao Wang, what’s wrong?"

Xiao Wang pointed in a direction far away, gesturing with his hands and opening his mouth repeatedly, faintly showing that only half of his tongue remained.

Nan Qingqing understood his aning and leaned out to look.

She saw a motorbike coming down the mountain road not far away.

"Mom, Nan Yu is chasing after us."

Sheng Ruoi patted Nan Qingqing’s hand and told her, "Don’t panic, leave it to ."

After speaking, she stepped out of the car and stood by the roadside.

Sheng Ruoi watched the motorbike approaching and savagely pinched her right thigh, instantly filling her eyes with tears.

Then she feigned a serious injury on her left leg, looking haggard and pitiful at Nan Yu on the motorbike.

As soon as the motorbike stopped, she imdiately dragged her left leg and reached out her arms, wanting to hug Nan Yu, but then pulled back her hands apprehensively and spoke cautiously.

"Xiao Yu, did you co to see Mom off?"

Nan Yu glimpsed Sheng Ruoi’s acting and a coldness spread across her face as she strode forward.

She stuffed the handkerchief into Sheng Ruoi’s hand, her tone as calm as possible.

"Mrs. Nan, this is for you."

Sheng Ruoi looked at the item in her hand, startled for a mont, and slled a strong fragrance that was sowhat familiar.

Quickly, she realized it was the Strange Herb given by the Ghost Doctor, and then caught a glimpse of two figures returning from feeding chickens in the woods, her complexion turning pale in an instant.

Concerned about Ren Xingzhou being nearby, she dared not reveal there was a problem.

Sheng Ruoi struggled to keep smiling, adopting an innocent expression.

"Xiao Yu, what is this?"

Looking closely, one could see the corners of her mouth twitching ever so slightly.

Nan Yu raised a smile, "It’s a Strange Herb that helps induce sleep."

The forced smile on Sheng Ruoi’s face faded, and she tossed the hot potato back into Nan Yu’s hands.

"My sleep is already good, I don’t need this sort of thing, you should take it back."

Nan Yu forcibly stuffed it into her hands, "No, you need it."

Sheng Ruoi tried to pull her hand away, but Nan Yu held on tightly, making it impossible for her to move.

For a while, the two stood in a deadlock.

Suddenly, the sky grew dark, clouds gathered densely, and thunder rumbled ominously.

Ren Xingzhou’s expression shifted, he spoke seriously, "A torrential downpour is coming, nobody can go down the mountain today, we must hurry back up."

At the sa ti, a series of angry lion roars emanated from the depths of the forest.

"Roar!"

"Roar!!!"

Upon hearing this sound, Ren Xingzhou’s expression changed, quickly sensing sothing was amiss.

He looked towards the deep woods with vigilance.

"Damn, the lions are in a frenzy!"
