Chapter 58: The Blackout Crisis
It was just a childish voice, yet it felt reliable to Cheng Yang.
Noticing that Cheng Yang had cald down, Xiao Ying slowly dragged him towards the room.
Cheng Yang obediently followed Xiao Ying and laid down on the bed, hugging her tightly.
Xiao Ying patted him gently and said, “Brother, go to sleep. You’ll be fine after you fall asleep.”
As she spoke on, she seed to have put herself to sleep too.
When she woke up the next day, she struggled to open her eyes.
She looked at Cheng Yang groggily and called, “Brother.”
Cheng Yang said nothing and just continued to stare at Xiao Ying.
Xiao Ying’s thoughts gradually cleared as she recalled everything that had happened last night.
She looked at Cheng Yang nervously and said, “Brother, are you okay now?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Cheng Yang replied lazily.
“Why did the electricity suddenly cut off yesterday?” Xiao Ying asked.
“I don’t know,” Cheng Yang replied.
This ti, Xiao Ying sensed that Cheng Yang wasn’t acting normal.
She looked at him suspiciously and asked, “Brother, what’s wrong?”
Cheng Yang smiled at Xiao Ying and said, “If you don’t get up, you’ll be late.”
Xiao Ying glanced at the clock on the table, shocked.
Suddenly, she couldn’t care less about Cheng Yang’s strange behavior anymore. She quickly got out of bed and ran back to her room.
Xiao Ying changed into her school uniform and freshened herself up.
Cheng Yang got up too, and soon, both of them were dressed neatly, leaving their rooms at the sa ti.
After breakfast, Cheng Yang drove Xiao Ying to school first.
Xiao Ying got out of the car and waved at Cheng Yang.
Rushing into the classroom right before the bell rang, Xiao Ying heaved a sigh of relief.
The math teacher, who had already arrived, looked at Xiao Ying, but could not say anything. He nodded and let her in.
Shen ijia winked at Xiao Ying from her seat, and she smiled back.
The morning classes passed quickly. By the ti they finished lunch, parents were already beginning to enter.
Most of the students in this school ca from families who ran businesses, so many parents used the parent-teacher conference as an opportunity to network.
The classroom soon beca noisy.
At 12: 50 p.m., only Xiao Ying and Xiao Ruoxuan’s parents were absent.
Liu ifeng entered the class and nodded in satisfaction after she briefly surveyed the classroom.
Realizing that the Xiao parents had not co, Liu ifeng frowned and looked towards Xiao Ying.
Previously, the Xiao couple had never attended a parent-teacher conference for Xiao Ying.
Liu ifeng smiled warmly at Xiao Ruoxuan and asked, “Do you know when President Xiao and the Madam will arrive?”
Xiao Ruoxuan smiled gently and said, “Daddy and Mommy said they’ll arrive soon.”
As soon as she finished speaking, the Xiao couple entered.
“Daddy, Mommy!” Xiao Ruoxuan exclaid in surprise.
Madam Xiao caught Xiao Ruoxuan in her arms as she ran over, greeting her warmly.
Xiao Lingbo watched from the side with a smile.
It was truly an image of a happy and harmonious family of three.
Everyone’s gazes were strange as they looked at Xiao Ying, who was sitting alone by the side.
The parents who did not know much were caught up by their children. After hearing their children’s explanations, they too looked at Xiao Ying appraisingly.
This school was not so top-notch noble school, so as soon as the Xiao family appeared, everyone was sucking up to them.
Xiao Lingbo and Madam Xiao enjoyed these people’s praise as they exchanged courtesies.
Xiao Ruoxuan raised her head and stood in the middle of the crowd as she looked at Xiao Ying arrogantly.
Xiao Ying chuckled lightly.
Amidst the enthusiastic praise, this mocking chuckle stood out extrely obviously.
After seeing that the sound ca from Xiao Ying, everyone took a step back.
Anticipating a good show, they gave the Xiao family mbers so space.
The Xiao couple’s attitude turned cold. Xiao Lingbo looked at Xiao Ying, displeased, and said, “Without our discipline, you are really getting more and more uncultured.”
Xiao Ying remained cold and said nothing.
“What an ingrate,” Madam Xiao sneered.
