Chapter 140: Lunch Made With Love
The two of them returned ho. Xiao Ying sent an email to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, notifying them that she would not be going there for a period of ti.
Fortunately, the research project she was responsible for had yet to begin.
One day, Xiao Ying was suddenly inspired to visit Cheng Yang’s company.
She did not tell him beforehand and brought a lunchbox to the Minglan Building.
After entering the lobby, the receptionist asked politely, “Who are you looking for? Do you have an appointnt?”
Xiao Ying said, “I’m looking for President Cheng.”
The receptionist’s expression changed for a mont, then returned to normal. “Do you have an appointnt?” she asked.
Xiao Ying asked, “Do I have to make an appointnt?”
The receptionist nodded good-naturedly.
Another receptionist at the side said in a weird tone, “You have the guts to co and look for President Cheng without an appointnt? Really, everyone wants to suck up to President Cheng. You think he’ll actually pay attention to you?”
President Cheng this, President Cheng that. However, Xiao Ying didn’t get mad, she just pretended that she didn’t hear.
She took out her phone and sent a ssage to Cheng Yang.
She said to the first receptionist, “I’ve sent him a ssage to let him pick up. I’ll wait for him here.”
The receptionist nodded gently.
The second receptionist spoke again, refusing to be outdone. “Xiao Ting, don’t be deceived by her. She wants President Cheng to pick her up? Where did she get the confidence?”
Xiao Ting looked at Xiao Ying apologetically. This person was her superior, so she could not do anything about it.
Xiao Ying said coldly, “Before confirming soone’s identity, it’s best not to belittle them lightly.”
The woman said angrily, “I’ve seen many people like you. Aren’t you just trying to curry favor with President Cheng? He won’t be seduced by a little vixen like you.”
As she spoke, she looked at Xiao Ying’s pretty face with jealousy.
Xiao Ying thought it over, “Don’t tell you like Cheng Yang?”
The woman seed to have had her thoughts exposed. She said guiltily, “Who gave you the courage to call our President Cheng by his na?”
“I gave her the courage,” said a faint voice from behind them.
The woman turned around in disbelief and was even more shocked to see Cheng Yang.
Cheng Yang glanced at her badge and said, “Jia Wenfei?”
The woman blushed and instantly forgot about the situation. She nodded shyly.
Cheng Yang said straightforwardly, “Go to the finance departnt to settle your paycheck.”
Jia Wenfei’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Cheng Yang didn’t look at her. He walked past her and walked over to Xiao Ying’s side. “Why didn’t you tell you were coming?”
Xiao Ying grinned, “I’m here to investigate to see if you did anything bad behind my back.”
Cheng Yang smiled and said, “You’re always welco, Madam.”
Xiao Ying glared at him. This person was getting more and more brazen.
The two of them spoke very softly so no one could hear them.
But the gentle expression on Cheng Yang’s face was enough to shock the managers who ca down with him.
They were in a eting just now. Cheng Yang glanced at his phone, paused the eting, and went downstairs.
They thought that sothing big had happened and thus followed him down. Unexpectedly, they were being fed with a spoonful of dog food.
Xiao Ying looked at the people in suits and leather shoes behind him and said embarrassedly, “Did I disturb your work?”
Cheng Yang looked at them and said, “No, we didn’t have much to do.”
The managers were crying in their hearts. They had already worked overti for a month, how could they not have much to do? But on the surface, they could only help coax this girl that seed to be the CEO’s wife.
“Nothing, we don’t have much to do. We’re just here for a little stroll.”
Before Xiao Ying could ask further, Cheng Yang had already taken her into his personal elevator.
As the elevator door closed, the managers saw Cheng Yang’s appreciative gaze and were delighted. It seed like there was hope for a promotion and raise.
This was Xiao Ying’s first ti visiting Cheng Yang’s office. Previously, she didn’t even know where he worked.
