Shikera struggled to pay attention to what the teacher was writing on the board, but her blurry eyesight hindered her. While trying to overco the sudden dizziness she was feeling, she turned to look at Skyler and Reese and saw that they looked okay. Thereby, she concluded it couldn’t have been as a result of the chocolate she ate.
"Get an hold of yourself, Kera! You just have to endure and your eyes will be back to normal," she murmured under her breath.
However, it didn’t take her long before she realized she was wrong as not only did her eyesight beco blurrier, but she also started coughing forcefully.
Taking out her handkerchief to cover her mouth, she attracted the attention of the class because of how loud she was coughing. Bowing slightly in apology, she removed the kerchief to see a slight drop of blood on it.
"It’s your eyes, Kera. It can’t be blood."
A sudden pain to her chest spurred her to start coughing again and this ti, the blood which poured out of her mouth was enough to make her know it wasn’t her eyesight malfunctioning. She was really coughing blood.
"Shikera!" She heard the teacher’s scared voice approaching her just as she succumbed to the dizziness. Her eyes closed to the world, darkness overcoming her whole being as she fell from her chair onto the ground.
"Shikera!"
As soon as the teacher got to where she fell, he turned to the other students, "One of you should get the nurse from the school clinic. Class monitor, inform the principal to call Chairman Anderson and ask your languages teacher to call for ergency!"
As the man gave the instruction, his whole being was shaking vigorously from its core. No! Nothing must happen to this girl, not when she was still in this school, and definitely not when he was the one in her class, teaching her. What if her father concluded that she fainted because the teacher failed to notice his daughter was exhausted? He knew how many tis his salary had increased since he started teaching her. And he was not the only one, as everyone who had the chance to teach Shikera’s class was also given an increase in their wages.
Even though the girl’s father had tried to make it discreet, he had discovered why imdiately. The girl seed to be sick, and this had made her isolated among her schoolmates so her father needed information on her at every mont. Which was why, when he had noticed the way Shikera glanced at tables which were full, or friends who were walking together, he had been quick to give her father a report. The next day, Shikera had resud school with Cyprian Leigh, and he had also noticed that she was now cheerful. And that was why he couldn’t allow this to happen now!
"Kera!"
As he carried Shikera up from the ground, he heard the voice of her friend. Where was the girl coming from? He was not able to ask his question before another student ran into the class and that was... Leonard Alexander who seed to be on a video call with soone.
"I understand! I should do all this in the ambulance, right?" He asked the person on the other side of the call.
"There’s an ambulance bus outside!" A screaming voice managed to rise above the other voices as the male teacher rushed the girl out of the class, the crowd of students parting to allow the man passage.
Running down the stairs and through the block of classrooms until he finally got to the field, he t the school principal and a few other teachers by the... ambulance bus? This isn’t an ambulance bus, he noticed, but their school bus whose seats were now removed. It seed like the school authorities also felt the urgency in the situation and they had decided to rush the girl to the hospital without waiting for any external help.
Climbing into the bus, he placed the almost lifeless girl on the stretcher which had been gotten from the school clinic, before alighting from the bus.
Leonard and Cyprian got in, and none of the teachers tried to stop them. While one was an Alexander, the other had the protection of the Anderson family so who were they to try to stop them?
The principal joined them in the bus with two other teachers, and the bus moved out of the school.
Back in the class, Skyler and her friends were standing in front of Reese, who was apparently annoyed that this girls were disturbing her. Was this a way for her to return the chocolate they gave her earlier today?
Skyler, oblivious to the girl’s inner complaint, asked again for the umpteenth ti, "Reese, are you sure you’re not feeling anything wrong with your body? There’s really nothing wrong with what we gave Kera."
"I don’t feel even the slightest discomfort, Kai! Will you stop disturbing and let sleep? I had enough sleepless nights from my crisis last week," Reese snapped at her. Seeing that she already ntioned her crisis, the girls were quick to excuse themselves from her presence.
"Now that i think about it, Kera has been attending this school for close to four months now and she has never been sick or anything. What if it is her crisis that is just occuring?"
The two other girls, eager to hold onto sothing that would relieve them of their guilt, were quick to agree.
"That’s true. You are really smart, Kai."
"Yes! We only have to say this if Chairman Anderson interrogates us, right?"
Exhaling loudly, Skyler nodded to backup their words.

For the second ti in 5 months, Shikera opened her eyes to another unfamiliar surrounding. The faint sll of disinfectants hanging in the air and the consistent beeping sound of the monitor, gave her a hint to where she was. And when Shikera raised herself up, she realized she was right.
This was a hospital, though one which looked much more like a luxurious hotel room. Her mind quickly recalled the mories of the day she was rushed here and she looked at the calendar, it was just three days ago.
Silent whispers drifted into her ears and she got down from the bed, staggering slightly. She padded across the room to the other side, which was partitioned briefly with a curtain, to realize that the whispers were coming from the other side.
"...Chairman Anderson, it won’t do to be angry. To so extent, whatever drug they gave her was beneficial to her. She won’t experience crisis or anything like that, as long as you abide by her al plan," an unfamiliar voice was trying to persuade her father, Shikera could tell.
Making sure she wasn’t making any sound with her feet, Shikera sneaked out of her ward. When she got outside and read the door sign, she committed her room number to mory.
"Room number 7, VVIP ward."
She walked towards the elevator and pressed the button. The door opened and she stepped into it, pressing the button for the elevator.
When the motor stopped, Shikera stepped out of it and swiping her hair up into a bun, she walked towards the edge of the roof.
"Want to jump?"
She turned, hearing an unfamiliar voice, to see a boy who looked as old as her brother walking towards her. He was wearing a patient uniform so she presud he ca up there to get a fresh breath, just like her.
"No..."
"Doesn’t look like that. What’s your na so I can inform your parents?"
"Shi—no, tell yours first," Shikera heard a small chuckle and she turned to the boy...or man.
"What’s funny?"
"Nothing, it’s just a pity that I also can’t tell you my na."
His constant smile was already annoying Shikera so she frowned, "Then, I will like to excuse myself."
"Why would you—" he wasn’t able to complete his sentence before she walked away from there, getting back in the elevator.
"She’s really spoilt, just like the rumours states..." He muttered, staring at her retreating back.
"Should i have said, Hey! I’m Kylian Jonathan Alexander?!"
As if his words sounded funny to his ears, he laughed out loud. Hysterically...until he brought his napkin up to his mouth to clean his bloodstained lips.
