Grandma Cooper was just as shocked as Mignon had been when she first heard this.
"What are you saying? Is she the first to get pregnant that her pregnancy would be a death sentence for her? Sure, I agree it’s a very stressful ti but—"
"Grandma!" Mignon cut her off, "My words an exactly what you think. I an this pregnancy is...Kera won’t survive it. You don’t understand, right? What do I do...?"
"Get yourself together, Leah, and tell what happened in full. Don’t you dare keep anything out!" Grandma Cooper ordered.
"Okay..." Mignon replied, her face drawn into a conflicted look as she was not sure if she was helping Shikera or not by telling Grandma Cooper. Still, she knew she could not keep this to herself and had to tell soone, soone wiser than her that would prevent Shikera from making a lifeti mistake.

Ethan felt free, a feeling which he had forgotten in this past decade, because his mask was off and he was walking with people.
"Cole," he called, and the young man stepped forward to stand beside him.
"Have you been able to trace any of their hideouts?" he asked.
"Regrettably no, Sir. But we are trying our best to—"
"We should go to their ho base then," Ethan interrupted.
Imdiately Cole realized what he just heard, his eyes widened and he hurriedly went to stand in front of Ethan, blocking his path and withholding him from walking any further.
"Any problem?" Ethan questioned.
"No—no problem, but Boss, I wanted to know if we are talking about the sa set of people. You said we are going to soone’s ho base now, right? Whose?" Cole stuttered.
"Numbskull, do we have any other opponents apart from the Jordans?"
Cole shook his head. "Then...were you saying we would go straight to the Jordans ho base right now? We can’t, Boss. We will only be delivering ourselves into the lion’s plate and...most of us trainees are still scared when we snuff out so of the Jordans in the city which is our turf, imagine how they would feel if they have to go straight to the ho base? We might as well ask them to say their goodbyes to their families—"
Again, Ethan who had no patience for long conversations, cut Cole off, "That’s a very good idea. You can pass the ssage across to them." He gave a small smile and walked around Cole, continuing on his way down the scantily crowded alley.
"You can’t do that, Boss! Most of them just got married and you too, your wife and daughter will be waiting for you. Can you bear to tell them goodbye?" Cole pressed, thinking that his ntion of Shikera and Esther had changed Ethan’s mind when the man stopped dead in his tracks. But no, this man had a perfect answer to his question as usual.
"Who told you I’m going to say goodbye to my own family? You are the one who’s not sure if you will return or not, therefore you should be the one to say goodbye. I, am returning to my family." Then his footsteps resud.
Cole sighed tiredly, "Jeez...don’t compare us all to you, Boss. You lived with them for ten years so it’s expected that you do not fear them, but how about us?"
"I don’t care about you," Ethan deadpanned. He changed the topic imdiately,"Any news from ho?"
Shaking his head, Cole replied, "If it’s about Miss Shikera, there’s no news yet. In fact, the team is not sure if she’s still...in this country. Maybe we should extend our search to the nearby countries?" He gave the last suggestion to appease the anger that might have been brewing within Ethan.
"She didn’t leave the country, I’m sure of that. If she left without her black card, then her departure would have been reported to either or , since I preside over both Anderson and DL Corporation," Ethan pointed out.
"Then..." Cole trailed off. "The only way she could have escaped the sharp eyes of our team could be that...has Miss Shikera been abducted?!" he exclaid in surprise.
Ethan was silent for a minute, before his mouth opened,
"Contact Ray and ask where his n last spotted Shikera. And...Chris DeLoach and Natalia Anderson, monitor them closely."
"Anything else?" Cole asked.
"Dr Kylian Alexander...get him on standby. I might end up having to say goodbye to my family after all," Ethan said, his voice low and threatening.
Before Cole could give a response or a reaction of any sort, Ethan dissapeared into the crowd behind him.
"Shit! Don’t tell he’s going to the base camp alone and without any backup!" he muttered, heading into the crowd after Ethan. But he was dreaming if he thought he could catch Ethan DeLoach, the man who lived in the dark for ten complete years.

Raymond picked up a glass of water and gulped it down to the last drop. Why he was scared to ask this particular question in his mind, he did not know. He just could not erase the image of her playing with the babies at the orphanage ho and her voice when she was talking to Esther earlier. She had said she loved babies...
But what he knew was that he did not want to hurt Cyprian by asking her about a matter they had buried and forgotten about.
"Rian."
Cyprian looked up from Esther’s ho school lesson workbook which she had been assessing, to Raymond who was standing by the kitchen’s cabinet. She herself was sitting at the table so she was able to stare at him without anything blocking her view.
"Yes?" she replied.
"I... The thing is, I heard sothing earlier but I’m not sure if I heard clearly," he began as slowly as he could.
"What was that? Where did you hear it?" Cyprian asked, paying rapt attention to him.
"I was standing in front of Esther’s room..." Raymond replied.
