When his wife had first told him the news of her pregnancy, Liam had been excited just like every other expectant father and that excitent had only escalated when he heard it was a daughter. Now, he would have a princess that he would pamper to the ends of the earth and back.

However, the excitent died down and was replaced with weariness when Natalia’s morning sickness began and refused to stop. Instead, it grew worse to the extent that his wife had to start feeding through intravenous thods.

Liam endured it, still hoping that both his wife and daughter would co out of dangers unscathed, until the doctor gave him an update on his wife’s health. And that update was that there was a seventy percent chance that his wife would not survive childbirth if the child was to live. It would be better if they mobilized their best obstetricians to operate on her and remove the baby before it got too late.

And that was when Liam’s hatred for his unborn child started. In fact, he stopped calling the baby a child as he could not fathom what kind of child would want to take its own mother’s life. And definitely not his wife’s life!

He contacted the doctor’s in charge and asked them to prepare for the surgery but now, his problem was that his wife was refusing to comply. In short, she was refusing anything that would cause danger to the child inside her even though she herself was already at death’s door.

Just like now, she always slipped into deep sleep whenever she was tired and would just wake up randomly later. She had been like this for six months and the baby was expected to co in a few more weeks.

Liam stood up from his wife’s bed and walked towards her dressing table to pick up his phone. He dialled a number and waited, listening as the call rang.

"Liam?" a voice ca from the other side of the line.

"Chris, thank God you picked the call. What are you doing at the mont?"

"Nothing, except you count babysitting my son," Chris replied.

Liam sighed regretfully, "I’m so sorry,Chris. I was so occupied with my wife over here that I forgot to congratulate you on your wife’s delivery. Congratulations, Chris."

"It’s alright, Liam, I understand. Haven’t you decided though? I sent so of my doctors over there too and they have not reported anything to yet. Don’t you want to save your wife?"

"I want to. But what can I do when she herself doesn’t want to be saved..."

"I can imagine. Alright, I have an idea..."

As Liam listened on to Chris’ idea, he failed to notice that his wife was now awake and looking at him from behind with a murderous glare.

Liam sprinted through the garden, looking left and right as he searched for his wife.

"Natalia!"

He bent down to look below the flower beds, before realizing that it was not possible for a human, pregnant or not, to get into that small place.

"Natalia!" he called out again, hearing echoes of his calls from all around the mansion. The maids, butlers, gardeners and everyone living in the Anderson family mansion were presently searching for his wife with him.

Liam was especially worried as it was just a few days ago that he spoke with her concerning the surgery. He hoped she had not planned to do sothing dangerous on her own.

"Sir Anderson!" he heard shouts of his na from the main mansion and his legs quickened in that direction. He soon got to the living room where the head butler was calling him from.

"What happened?"

"Sir, I was watching the TV now—"

"You had the guts to watch the TV when I tasked you all to look for my wife?!" Liam asked disbelievingly.

The head butler shook his head vigorously, "Actually, I am not the one watching it. It was Young Master Noah and I just happened to pass by."

"And so? You are reporting my son to for watching TV?"

"No, Sir. Mrs Anderson, she’s on the TV. And..."

"Fuck!" Cursing, Liam rushed towards the TV without hearing the butler complete his words.

"...I don’t think you would like to hear what she was talking about," the man concluded, sighing.

On the other hand, Liam was already in front of the TV and his jaws slacked more and more as he listened to what his wife was saying on her show. Just how long had she planned this, that she was executing it so perfectly?

TV:...I’m sure you guys heard the voice recording just now, and you are very well aware that I don’t spread lies here on my show. The recording just now was from the esteed mbers of the ga family, Liam Anderson and Chris DeLoach!

Liam fell to his knees, his eyes clouding in confusion. His wife had just frad him and Chris on TV where she knew she had influence, and he could not fathom just why she had done it.

His phone rang and he picked it up to stare at his screen.

"I’m sorry, Chris," Liam muttered, as soon as the call connected.

"It’s alright. But..."

"Say it," Liam permitted.

"But you know we can’t just stand around with a tarnished image. We have to clean ourselves and to do that, your wife’s public image had to be tarnished and flushed down the drain. Are you up for that?"

"Do anything you like," Liam gave them the approval.

"One last thing, Liam," Chris added, before he could hang up on the call.

"What’s that?"

"It might uh...take a while before Ethan visits you again. He saw the news and I must say he’s dissapointed in Natalia."

"It’s alright. Noah and Nate will miss him but then, they will be alright."

"Take care, Liam."

"Thanks, Chris."

Beep!

Liam hung up on the call and stood up from the floor, stiffening when he heard a voice behind him.

"I am sorry, Lee."
