Chapter 814: Chapter 814: Ancient dicinal Field
Fang Lin was completely indifferent to the departure of Ling Zhongru and the others; in fact, if these people had the audacity to continue lingering here, Fang Lin would have actually admired them.
Standing before the stele, Fang Lin stared intently at it and saw a line of characters:
“Recognize this figure, and enter the herb field.”
Looking at the pattern on the stele, it was utterly incomprehensible at first glance, as if it were just a cluster of randomly carved shapes.
Huang Yao, Sun Zhenghai, and the other two also ca over. They had already seen the pattern on the stele but were just as clueless.
“Upon closer inspection, this pattern seems to resemble an exotic beast, yet it doesn’t, totally unrecognizable as to what it actually is,” Yang Songchi broke the silence with his comnt.
Fang Lin nodded slightly; indeed, upon closer examination, the pattern on the stele did resemble an exotic beast.
As for what kind of an exotic beast it was, Fang Lin couldn’t tell either at that mont, but he always felt the pattern was familiar, as if he had seen it sowhere before.
With no clue for the mont, Fang Lin directly sat down cross-legged in front of the stele and began to recall in his mind.
Fang Lin had too many mories, a confluence of past and present lives, making it not so easy to recollect.
Luckily, Fang Lin had practically no recollection gaps regarding his past life, and after more than an hour, he suddenly awoke.
“I know what it is, it’s a dicine-seeking Raccoon,” Fang Lin said aloud.
The other four were startled upon hearing this. A dicine-seeking Raccoon? What dicine-seeking Raccoon? They had never heard of such an exotic beast existing.
But Fang Lin was quite excited; he guessed who might have left this stele and was even more eager to enter that ancient herb field.
“Fang Lin, what dicine-seeking Raccoon?” Huang Yao, puzzled, asked. The three others also turned their gaze towards Fang Lin.
Fang Lin was at a loss for how to explain; the dicine-seeking Raccoon was a kind of exotic beast that, in this era, probably only he knew of.
The so-called dicine-seeking Raccoon was a peculiar beast, able to search throughout the world for rare herbs. Even the rarest of dicinal materials could be located by the dicine-seeking Raccoon.
For Pill Refiners, the dicine-seeking Raccoon had an unimaginable role.
However, the dicine-seeking Raccoon was extrely rare, as this beast had very poor reproductive capabilities. Even in the era of Fang Lin’s past life, there were only two or three dicine-seeking Raccoons left in the world.
One of them resided within the Pill Saint Palace, kept by a deeply senior Elder.
After Fang Lin joined the Pill Saint Palace, he had seen and even played with that dicine-seeking Raccoon, thus having a certain impression of it.
That Elder had once told Fang Lin that he ticulously managed a herb field, which was planted with many rare and exotic herbs, all of which were precious dicinal materials brought back by the dicine-seeking Raccoon.
But to enter his herb field, only those recognized by the dicine-seeking Raccoon were qualified; otherwise, even the Palace Master of the Pill Saint Palace, if not agreed upon by the dicine-seeking Raccoon, could not enter.
At that ti, Fang Lin had even teased the Elder, saying that for such a grown man to listen to a dicine-seeking Raccoon seed absurd.
Now, seeing this stele as well as the words and pattern on it, Fang Lin’s mind wavered; it was highly possible that this was the herb field left by the Elder.
“How is this possible? Could it be that after so long, that herb field still exists?” Fang Lin’s heart pounded. Although it was not yet certain, if it were indeed so, perhaps he could find so traces of the old Pill Saint Palace within that herb field.
With that thought, Fang Lin stretched out his finger, starting to trace on the stele. His finger left marks on the stele, gradually outlining the shape of the dicine-seeking Raccoon.
“dicine-seeking Raccoon, I can’t believe after all these years, I’m seeing you again,” Fang Lin said with a smile, his eyes reflecting either reminiscence or regret.
Suddenly, the Stele began to glow with light.
“Is it really reacting? Could it actually be so kind of dicine-seeking Raccoon?” All four were greatly surprised, not expecting Fang Lin to so easily recognize the pattern on the Stele.
The Stele quietly sank into the sand, and imdiately after, a column of light appeared where the Stele had stood.
“It’s a teleportation array!” They were overjoyed, knowing this must be the entrance to the dicinal herb field.
“Let’s go!” Fang Lin was the first to enter the array, and the other four followed him in succession.
With a flash of light, the figures of Fang Lin and the others vanished.
The next mont, Fang Lin and the others found themselves within a dicinal herb field, surrounded by a myriad of exotic and precious plants, their various fragrances intermingling.
Aside from Fang Lin, the mont Huang Yao and the other three entered, they imdiately fell unconscious, their bodies manifesting various symptoms.
Fang Lin also felt extrely uncomfortable, his head dizzy and heavy as if he had been poisoned.
However, Fang Lin knew he wasn’t poisoned; it was just that the herb field had existed for too long, and the herbs had continuously released scents, filling the air with an extrely potent dicinal energy.
Even though the dicinal energy had no toxicity, its sheer concentration was too much for Huang Yao and the others to bear, knocking them out imdiately.
In simple terms, it was a case of the weak being unable to handle strong supplents.
Sensing danger, Fang Lin quickly put aside his joy, swept the four into a Beast Bag with a wave of his hand, and then sat down cross-legged to begin processing and absorbing the overwhelming dicinal power with his Physical Strength.
But soon, even Fang Lin couldn’t hold out any longer. The dicinal energy here was incredibly dense, and even though Fang Lin’s body was strong, he struggled to refine it.
With no other choice, Fang Lin took out a gourd to absorb the dicinal energy from the area, and then he himself took shelter in the Supre Saint Hall.
This gourd was no ordinary gourd but a Universe Gourd, a treasure Fang Lin had obtained from the Ice Emperor in the Endless Dungeon and had not found much use for until now.
The Universe Gourd continuously absorbed the dicinal energy that had accumulated in this herb field over countless years, but it seed that it couldn’t absorb it all in a short ti.
Fang Lin sat cross-legged in the Supre Saint Hall, thoroughly refining the dicinal power that had rushed into his body, then released Huang Yao and the others.
“What happened to these four guys?” Dugu Nian curiously asked from the side.
“Nothing much, just overpowered,” Fang Lin said with a smile, helping the four to dissolve the dicinal energy within their bodies. Luckily, Fang Lin had promptly placed them in the Beast Bag; otherwise, if they had accumulated too much dicinal energy, their bodies might have exploded from the excess and killed them.
However, it was estimated that it would take a while for the four to wake up, as the overwhelming dicinal energy had still caused considerable trauma to their bodies.
“Did you find another interesting place?” Dugu Nian asked excitedly, seemingly eager to go out and explore.
Fang Lin gave a wry smile, “Indeed, it’s quite interesting, but it’s also a deadly place. Do you want to go?”
Upon hearing this, Dugu Nian shook her head repeatedly, “I don’t want to go.”
Fang Lin chuckled, but his mind was far from calm. Although he had only briefly stayed in that dicinal herb field, it was remarkably similar to the one he rembered.
