Chapter 1692: Chapter 1789: The Immortal Strong Ones of the Taoist Sect

A cold and indifferent voice echoed, and the Cow Riding Taoist’s heart sank in foreboding, trying desperately to escape the scene before him. Unfortunately, it was already too late.

The ancient spear ca roaring in with rampant killing intent, severing the Cow Riding Old Taoist’s head in one swift motion. The next instant, Fang Lin held the severed head in his hand, while the green ox, enraged by the sight, charged at Fang Lin, attempting to reclaim its master’s head.

“Scram!” Fang Lin delivered a fierce kick, sending the green ox tumbling midair, completely outmatched.

Failing to retrieve its master’s head, the green ox could only grit its teeth and drag back the headless corpse of the old Taoist.

Fang Lin, clutching the severed head of the Cow Riding Old Taoist, cast an icy gaze toward the Black White Master nearby.

The Black White Master hadn’t anticipated Fang Lin’s frightening power. Even the old Hall Master of the True Martial Hall suffered such a humiliating blow, having his very head severed.

Though a Half-step Immortal cultivator wouldn’t perish imdiately from losing their head, it stripped them of any ability to resist. The fate of life or death now rested entirely in Fang Lin’s hands.

If Fang Lin chose to destroy the head of the Cow Riding Old Taoist, then the Taoist would be truly deceased—no different from how Wang Linlang’s head was smashed to pulp by Fang Lin’s fist.

At this mont, the face of the Cow Riding Old Taoist remained frozen in terror, unable to comprehend how he had been defeated so miserably in an instant.

To make matters worse, his entire life now lay at Fang Lin’s rcy. Though the Cow Riding Old Taoist might have co to terms with life and death more than others, when confronted with imminent death, fear still gripped his heart.

The experts of the True Martial Hall, seeing their old Hall Master’s head severed, grew anxious one by one but dared not attempt a rescue. After all, even soone as strong as their Hall Master had fallen, and with most of them yet to reach Great Longevity, rushing forward would be suicidal.

“Does anyone else wish to sample my techniques?” Fang Lin swept his gaze across the crowd. Scholars and Taoists alike fell into his line of sight, yet few dared to et his eyes.

The scholars, having preserved so fighting strength, hesitated when they saw the Taoist sects suffering devastating losses. After all, how could they take action now? Even cultivators of Great Longevity had been dispatched by Fang Lin with ease. Not to ntion, soone of the old Hall Master’s caliber had already lost his head—perhaps only Immortal-level experts could stand toe-to-toe with Fang Lin.

But now, among the three sects, were there truly any Immortal experts left?

At least, ever since Fang Lin stord into the three sects this ti, only a single Buddha Daqian from the Buddhist Sect had been encountered. No Immortal-level experts had revealed themselves from the Taoist Sect or the Scholar Sect.

Moreover, even if an Immortal did materialize, Fang Lin felt no fear. His prior clash with the Sealing Sword Pavilion Master had confird his ability to challenge Immortal-level experts.

“Fang Lin, you’ve slaughtered so many of the three sects. Can’t you stay your hand?” asked the Black Robe Master.

Fang Lin smirked faintly. “I’ve rely killed so few. How could it suffice? Seven years ago, I nearly perished in the Seven Seas. My return today is solely to settle this debt.”

“Are you truly intent on pursuing an endless war with our three sects?” the Black Robe Master said coldly.

With a touch of disdain, Fang Lin casually shook the Cow Riding Old Taoist’s severed head in his hand. “Does this not already qualify as an endless war?”

“Very well! Since you, Fang Lin, insist on your demise, then today you shall pay with your life for those killed by you within the three sects!” The Black Robe Master declared, his voice sharp.

From within the ranks of Chongyun Temple, a young Taoist of expressionless countenance suddenly stepped forward. His pace was slow, as he steadily approached Fang Lin. Others from Chongyun Temple looked bewildered, and so attempted to stop him, but they couldn’t even touch the young Taoist’s body.

Fang Lin fixed his gaze on the figure, his smile widening.

“As expected. If the Buddhist Sect possesses a Buddha Daqian, it’s only natural for the other two sects to have comparable talents.” Fang Lin remarked, his eyes glinting with anticipation.

“I had no desire to intervene,” the young Taoist said calmly as he reached Fang Lin’s front. “But with you forcing my hand repeatedly, leaving behind so much carnage, I have no choice but to face your thods personally.”

The Black White Master both stepped forward to greet the young Taoist with a bow. “Greetings, Master-Uncle!”

The young Taoist inclined his head slightly, his gaze steady on Fang Lin. Fang Lin unabashedly stared back, unflinching.

Upon hearing the Black White Master’s form of address for this young Taoist, the Taoist Sect disciples froze in place, and many wore looks of shock soon after.

The highest-ranking figures in Chongyun Temple were the two Black White Masters, who had held their positions for over two thousand years.

And yet, the young Taoist, seemingly only in his early twenties, was addressed as their Master-Uncle? Such seniority was staggering, marking him as soone who must have existed at least four to five thousand years ago.

Many disciples of Chongyun Temple wore uneasy expressions; after all, they recognized the young Taoist. Until this mont, he had always been an ordinary disciple among them. Who could have imagined that this humble figure was Chongyun Temple’s eldest lineage bearer?

Fang Lin smirked dismissively. “So, as I suspected, the three sects secretly harbored Immortal-level experts, yet you insisted on hiding away. Playing the part of lofty masters—let’s see if you still maintain that air of tranquility once I press your face into the dirt.”

The young Taoist’s expression remained frozen, wooden in deanor.

“Should I lose to your hands, it would be solely my lack of skill. There’s no one else to bla,” the young Taoist stated, withdrawing a horsetail whisk, its three thousand silver strands wafting in the ocean breeze.

“I must ask you to return the head of the True Martial Hall Master.” The young Taoist t Fang Lin’s gaze, his aura ascending unmistakably.

“Not a chance!” Fang Lin unhesitatingly stored the severed head of the Cow Riding Taoist into his Beast Bag, entrusting Zhen Yangzi and two others within the bag to guard it, preventing the Taoist from pulling any tricks in secret.

Without further idle words, the young Taoist unveiled his full Immortal aura, his horsetail whisk suddenly expanding to a massive size, sweeping toward Fang Lin.

Fang Lin t the attack fearlessly; Skyfire erupted from his body, landing upon the whisk’s many silver threads.

Instantly, crackling sounds of flas consuming the threads filled the air. Though the threads weren’t ordinary, Skyfire nevertheless proved superior.

The young Taoist seed unfazed. Shaking off the burned silver threads, more threads swiftly erged, seemingly endless.

Fang Lin released Skyfire repeatedly, burning the threads continually. Yet as they were destroyed, new ones ford in abundance, as though unending.

anwhile, the young Taoist ford a hand seal, conjuring thunder from the Nine Heavens. One after another, thunderclouds coalesced in the firmant, their terrifying pressure inciting dread among all beneath the heavens.

Fang Lin raised his head, slightly furrowing his brows. The young Taoist’s mastery indeed bore so rit, for summoning lightning from the void was no trivial feat.
