Chapter 1639: Chapter 1736: Legend of the Divine Mountain

Fang Lin’s entire body stiffened, as if a mountain ten thousand feet tall was crushing down on him. There was also a suffocating sensation, as though countless sharp swords were aid at his throat. It felt as if the slightest movent would bring about total annihilation.

The Pavilion Master of the Sealing Sword Pavilion gazed at Fang Lin with playful amusent, and then suddenly withdrew his oppressive aura.

“This place lies deep within the mountains of the Western Lands. Even if you escape from here, you won’t make it past these vast stretches of mountains, let alone evade my sword qi. No matter if you flee to the Ends of the Earth, a single strike of my sword would still claim your life,” the Pavilion Master said, lightly tapping Fang Lin’s shoulder with the tip of his foot.

Fang Lin’s expression remained unchanged, but inwardly, he had a deeper understanding of the Pavilion Master’s formidable strength. No wonder even the Heaven King of the East Pole couldn’t stop him. His terrifying might that dominated this era was well-deserved.

Even soone as strong as Dugu Nian might not be this person’s match.

“Pavilion Master, for caution’s sake, this old woman still suggests that the two of them take the Hundred Day Pill to prevent them from refusing to serve the Pavilion Master,” the frail, elderly woman suddenly remarked, a sinister smile spreading across her face.

Huang Hanqing also nodded in agreent on the side, feeling that the old woman’s suggestion was absolutely reasonable.

Xu Yanbing’s face was as pale as a sheet, and Fang Lin also frowned deeply.

After a brief mont of thought, the Pavilion Master waved his hand, and two pitch-black pills floated in front of Xu Yanbing and Fang Lin.

“Take it.” The Pavilion Master’s voice was calm, almost casual, yet filled with an unquestionable authority.

Fang Lin picked up the pill, a peculiar smile flickering across his face. “The Hundred Day Pill? After taking it, there’s no difference from an ordinary person for the first hundred days, but on the hundredth day, the poison activates, plunging one into a pain worse than death—a suffering that lasts another hundred days. Without an antidote, one eventually dies in agony. Such a sinister thod… Could it be that everyone else here has also consud this pill?”

As soon as these words were spoken, so of the nearby Pill Refiners, their expressions dull and lifeless, froze montarily but quickly resud their work in silence.

“You don’t have a choice,” the Pavilion Master replied coldly, showing no patience to waste ti on such trifles.

Fang Lin said nothing further and decisively swallowed the pill.

Xu Yanbing’s face twisted with grief and rage. Seeing even Fang Lin take the pill, he knew he had even less room for resistance. If he resolutely refused, he would likely be killed on the spot.

“How could I, Xu Yanbing, die in a place like this? I must survive, no matter the cost!” Xu Yanbing thought bitterly, gritting his teeth as he finally steeled himself to consu the Hundred Day Pill.

The Pavilion Master turned and left the secluded valley. His figure quickly disappeared, but the sword qi he left behind still lingered in the air. To anyone below the Longevity Realm, it was completely undetectable. Only those who had stepped into the Longevity Realm could barely sense it.

It could be said that although this valley seed loosely guarded, it was as secure as a tightly sealed prison. No one could escape.

“Having taken this old woman’s Hundred Day Pill, no matter how exceptionally gifted you might be in the Alchemy Tao, you will obediently listen to my orders,” the old woman chuckled sinisterly, her gaze on Fang Lin and Xu Yanbing tinged with a peculiar greed.

Huang Hanqing squinted and addressed the two of them: “The two of you each have your strengths. Xu Yanbing will learn to control the flas, while Fang Lin will observe all the changes within the Pill Furnace, recording everything with absolute precision.”

Xu Yanbing, dispirited, joined the other Pill Refiners near the blazing Pill Furnace.

Fang Lin, anwhile, leapt upward, landing atop the massive Pill Furnace. Along with several other Pill Refiners, his task was to monitor the changes within the furnace.

Standing atop the Pill Furnace, Fang Lin glanced inside, and his expression grew even more peculiar.

“While these ingredients are indeed rare, they’re far from sufficient to refine the Life and Death Reincarnation Pill. Actually, let alone the Life and Death Reincarnation Pill, I doubt they could even produce a ninth-grade pill,” Fang Lin thought to himself, holding a Jade Slip in his hand as he recorded everything he observed.

Among those recording alongside Fang Lin, there were over a dozen Pill Refiners. However, they did not interact with one another, each silently docunting what they saw. Every ten days, they were required to submit their records to Huang Hanqing for comparison.

“The news of my capture by the Sealing Sword Pavilion should have reached the Sky Swallowing Palace. But it’s likely the Pavilion Master has already set asures in place to deal with Dugu Nian and the others. Now that I’m trapped here, even if Dugu Nian wanted to find , it would be extrely difficult. It seems I must find a way to escape on my own,” Fang Lin thought, quietly observing his surroundings and contemplating his options for escape.

As for the Hundred Day Pill in his body, Fang Lin hardly considered it an issue. With his skills, creating an antidote for the Hundred Day Pill was child’s play. If the mighty Pill Sovereign were defeated by re poison, it would be an absolute farce.

Furthermore, there was sothing else that weighed heavily on Fang Lin’s mind.

Amidst these vast ten thousand mountains, rumored to be the Eternal Divine Mountain of ancient mythology, lay a mystery that lingered in Fang Lin’s thoughts.

In the past, Mo Shouhe, the Martial Lord who could pluck stars with a re flick of his finger, had ventured to these far western lands in search of ancient enigmas. Severely injured but miraculously reborn, his strength only grew stronger afterward.

In this sa region, Fang Lin’s father, Fang Qingye, was once guided by the Nine-Colored Divine Deer to the Eternal Divine Mountain. Only Fang Lin and Bai Qingxue knew of this event.

However, Fang Qingye had only managed to see the mountain and had been unable to ascend it—likely because, at that ti, Fang Qingye lacked the strength and qualifications to do so.

Later, the great Martial Lord Hou Yi also ventured into these mountains to seek the Eternal Divine Mountain, though whether he succeeded is unknown.

That three Martial Lords of unparalleled strength had, one after another, journeyed to this land with ties to the Eternal Divine Mountain inevitably invoked deep curiosity and speculation.

In a previous life, Fang Lin had also been spirited and ambitious, once contemplating a journey to find the so-called divine mountain and to see with his own eyes whether it truly pierced the heavens as told in ancient legend—majestic and imasurable.

But Fang Qingye had stopped him, warning Fang Lin to never search for the divine mountain.

Now, however, finding himself within these ten thousand mountains, Fang Lin couldn’t help but recall those past conversations.

Fang Lin furrowed his brow and gazed toward the seemingly endless expanse of the western horizon. Deep within his heart, there was an inexplicable feeling tugging at him: sothing—or soone—of great importance awaited him in that distant, unreachable place.

What Fang Lin couldn’t see was that far away, in a place where no mortal being could set foot, soone was also watching him. Their gaze was calm yet filled with expectation.

This mysterious figure held an umbrella, standing upon the very ground of the Eternal Divine Mountain.

“You are not yet ready to co here,” the figure murmured.
