Chapter 1142: Chapter 1141: Slander Others? Chapter 1142: Chapter 1141: Slander Others? “Fang Lin, do you realize your cris?” the elder in black robes yelled angrily, his cold eyes glaring at Fang Lin, filled with treachery and satisfaction.
“Do you realize your cris?” Voices of accusation echoed from the crowd, filling the main hall with charges against Fang Lin. It seed as though he had already beco the object of everyone’s scorn, a condemned criminal.
“Gentlen, please be patient and calm down. This matter still requires investigation before any conclusions can be drawn,” a high-ranking mber spoke up, attempting to clear Fang Lin’s na.
“Hmph! With such irrefutable evidence, what more is there to investigate? Could it be that the many eyewitnesses from the ng Kingdom’s royal family are not enough to prove Fang Lin’s nurous heinous acts?” the elder in black spoke coldly.
“Even if it was witnessed, the matter still needs to be thoroughly investigated to understand the underlying causes and effects. We are all in the dark about these, so we cannot rashly convict Lord Fang,” another high-ranking mber stood up and said.
“By speaking in defense of Fang Lin, are you disregarding the lives of those Pill Refiners who were brutally killed? They were Pill Refiners from our Pill Alliance, slaughtered like this. Such wickedness incurs the wrath of heaven and the loathing of the people, and not even the most severe punishnt would suffice to appease the anger,” the elder in black bellowed furiously, his voice drowning out all others in the grand hall.
Those unaware of the situation might actually believe he was a compassionate soul, yet everyone present knew that this elder in black was undeniably ruthless.
At that mont, the grand hall had evidently split into three factions.
With the Poison Pill Masters, the Tiangang Elder faction, and so families from the Alchemy Tao accusing Fang Lin, they sought to have him convicted.
The high-ranking mbers of the Tiangang Elder faction were trying their best to speak for Fang Lin, but it was clearly difficult to sway opinions since Fang Lin had admitted to the deed himself, making it extrely tough for them to defend him.
Another group of people remained neutral, not siding with anyone and rely watching the spectacle unfold.
Keeping a similarly detached stance was the highest-ranking individual present, Elder Tianhong, who had yet to speak and allowed the situation to escalate, seemingly indifferent.
Another person was equally detached.
This person was none other than the focus of the event, Lord Fang Lin.
Fang Lin sat there, looking utterly unfazed, his face adorned with a faint smile. From his deanor, he seed completely unconcerned by the black-robed elder’s accusations.
Elder Tianhong was also observing Fang Lin’s reaction. Seeing him so composed, he felt sowhat puzzled, as anyone else in such a situation would probably have been restless by now.
“Silence, all of you!” As the argunt between the two sides grew more intense, Elder Tianhong finally spoke up sharply, and the grand hall fell quiet.
“Elder, Fang Lin has already admitted to committing such wicked acts. I implore the Elder to ascertain his cris and impose severe punishnt to set an example,” the elder in black addressed Elder Tianhong.
Elder Tianhong did not respond to the elder in black, but instead turned to Fang Lin and asked, “Fang Lin, do you have anything else to say?”
Fang Lin rose to his feet, smiling faintly, “Elder, your discernnt is clear. So people want to use this incident to target , but if this matter is carefully investigated, the cause and consequences will be revealed.”
The elder in black imdiately said, “The fact is that you killed the Pill Refiners of ng Kingdom. What more do you have to say in your defense? Are you saying that you didn’t kill them?”
“Indeed! You slaughtered the Pill Refiners of ng Kingdom, that’s an indisputable fact!”
“As a Hall Master, yet with such evil deeds in your past, you are entirely unfit to hold the position of Hall Master.”
“A person like you must be severely punished, otherwise, how can our Pill Alliance stand firm? And how should the world’s Pill Refiners view the Pill Alliance?”
“Only by punishing Fang Lin severely can the Pill Alliance maintain its reputation without suffering too much damage.”
····
Harsh rebukes and demands for strict punishnt echoed through the crowd, with Fang Lin becoming the target of everyone’s attacks, as if he were so great villain who had committed every imaginable evil.
Fang Lin remained composed, completely unaffected, and his state of mind was undisturbed, as if the accusations others hurled at him were nothing but idle chatter.
“Dugu Nian and I entered the capital of the ng Kingdom only to borrow an item from Emperor ng, but we were ambushed and provoked by a group of Poison Pill Masters. Left with no choice, I had to fight back. As for the killings, they were nothing more than those Poison Pill Masters from ng Kingdom being no match for and dying by my hand. Who are they to bla? Do they really think others are allowed to kill , and yet I am not entitled to kill those who want dead?” Fang Lin spoke slowly, his tone remarkably calm.
Elder Tianhong nodded but said nothing, while the n in black grew discontented.
“Fang Lin! You dare to twist the truth? And you have the audacity to insult us?” the man in black shouted angrily.
Fang Lin smiled: “Insult you? Where have I insulted you?”
“We too are Pill Refiners of the Pill Alliance, yet you address us as Poison Pill Masters. Isn’t that a blatant insult to us?” said the man in black.
Fang Lin’s smile grew even brighter: “Aren’t you Poison Pill Masters? Having forgotten your roots and shalessly claiming to be Pill Refiners just because you joined the Pill Alliance? How laughable.”
These words utterly infuriated the Poison Pill Masters, each glaring at Fang Lin as if they wanted their eyeballs to pop out in rage.
By speaking thus, Fang Lin directly ripped away the Poison Pill Masters’ veneer of decency, clarifying that as long as they were Poison Pill Masters, they could never shed that reputation, not even if they joined the Pill Alliance, where no one would acknowledge them.
Many of the higher-ups in the Pill Alliance silently comnded Fang Lin’s words. In the eyes of most Pill Alliance leaders, a Poison Pill Master was always a Poison Pill Master, unworthy of recognition, no matter if they joined the alliance.
The audacity of these Poison Pill Masters to attend this council eting alongside genuine Pill Refiners was already displeasing to them, yet they had no recourse.
By daring to say these words, Fang Lin earned the favor of many high-ranking mbers of the Pill Alliance in terms of his identity as a Pill Refiner.
Even Elder Tianhong couldn’t help but show a hint of a smile—Poison Pill Masters were unwelco everywhere, and even soone of Elder Tianhong’s stature found them repellent at heart.
“Allowing you Poison Pill Masters to join the Pill Alliance was the greatest kindness shown to you. Yet you show no gratitude, acting rashly and arrogantly. Who doesn’t know of the shady deeds you have done in secret? Just a little investigation, and who among you would remain unscathed standing here? Accusing ? You should be the ones inspecting your own conduct,” Fang Lin scoffed repeatedly, speaking with scorn.
“Well said!” a high-ranking mber of the Pill Alliance exclaid in support, making the faces of the n in black even more disagreeable.
“Fang Lin, as a Hall Master, you indiscriminately slander others, and coupled with your massacre of ng Kingdom’s Pill Refiners, your behavior is truly outrageous!” a high-ranking mber of the Pill Alliance stood up and condemned vehently.
