The first day of my final sester at Mythos Academy began with the familiar ritual of gathering in Class 4-A for Professor Nero's briefing. As I approached the classroom, the weight of this being my last sester here settled over like a mantle—heavy with both nostalgia and anticipation.

Class 4-A housed the academy's most elite students, and our small cohort of fourteen occupied seats arranged in a neat 2x7 formation. The intimate setting ant everyone knew everyone else's business, for better or worse.

As I entered the room, I noticed I was among the last to arrive. Most of my classmates were already seated or milling about in small groups, their conversations creating a low hum of anticipation for the new sester.

At the seat next to mine sat Lucifer Windward, the erald-eyed protagonist whose very presence seed to shift the atmosphere of any room he entered. His characteristic smile greeted as I approached, but there was sothing different about his aura today—sothing stronger.

'He's close,' I realized imdiately, sensing the familiar pressure that accompanied Ascendant-rankers. The strength radiating from him was unmistakable—he'd reached the sa level as , aning he must have scaled the Wall during winter break.

Lucifer stood and extended his hand, his green eyes bright with genuine warmth. "Hey Arthur," he greeted, his smile as infectious as ever. "I heard you took down the future Pope of the Savage Communion in a fight."

"I did," I replied, accepting his handshake and noting the increased firmness of his grip. "He was quite strong."

"High Ascendant-rank, right?" Lucifer asked, and I nodded in confirmation.

Lucifer possessed that rare combination of natural talent, unwavering determination, and the kind of charisma that drew people to him like moths to fla. We started off as rivals since I needed to surpass him, but after doing so, we beca friends. And now, I found myself genuinely enjoying our conversation.

The classroom door opened again, and Deia and Seol-ah entered together, their synchronized movents speaking to the deep bond they shared. Both possessed the sa striking golden eyes, though their personalities couldn't have been more different. Deia's confident stride contrasted with Seol-ah's more reserved grace, but they complented each other perfectly.

Lucifer's entire deanor brightened as he spotted his two girlfriends, a soft, pleasant smile spreading across his features. The genuine affection in his expression was impossible to miss—whatever complex arrangent they'd worked out, it clearly brought all three of them happiness.

'At least I'm not the only one with complicated romantic situations,' I mused, though I suspected Lucifer's relationships were considerably less politically charged than my own.

The door opened once more, and Rachel and Cecilia entered side by side, their blonde hair catching the morning light streaming through the classroom's large windows. Rachel's vibrant energy was palpable even from across the room, while Cecilia moved with the calculated grace of soone always aware of her effect on others.

I could see the exact mont Rachel spotted —the golden flecks in her beautiful sapphire eyes began to shimr with excitent, and she took half a step in my direction before Cecilia's hand on her arm brought her up short. The brief pout that crossed Rachel's features was almost endearing, though I caught Cecilia's subtle smirk as she stopped Rachel.

Before Rachel could attempt another approach, the classroom door opened again to admit the final two mbers of my personal romantic complications. Seraphina Zenith glided into the room with her characteristic silent grace, her pale ice-blue eyes scanning the space with cool assessnt. Her silver hair fell like liquid moonlight around her delicate features, and the scent of honey seed to follow in her wake like an invisible entourage.

Rose Springshaper entered just behind her, providing a stark contrast to Seraphina's ethereal presence. Where Seraphina was all cold beauty and calculated distance, Rose moved like flowing water—natural, adaptive, finding her path with effortless grace. Her auburn hair and warm brown eyes created a more approachable beauty, though no less captivating for its earthiness.

"Arthur," Seraphina said simply, her voice carrying that familiar crystalline quality that never revealed more emotion than she intended. Despite her reputation for coldness, I'd learned to read the subtle signs of her affection—the way her eyes lingered on my face just a mont longer than necessary, the almost imperceptible softening around her eyes.

"Good morning, Seraphina," I replied, offering her a genuine smile. "How was your winter break?"

"Productive," she answered in her typical economical style, though the brief flash of warmth in her pale eyes suggested there was more she wasn't saying in present company.

Rose moved to my other side, her presence imdiately warr and more openly affectionate. "Arthur, you look well," she said, her voice carrying genuine pleasure at seeing again. "I hope you found ti to rest between all your research projects."

"So," I admitted with a slight laugh. "Though I suspect the final sester won't be offering much in the way of relaxation."

"Probably not," Rose agreed, her smile turning slightly mischievous. "Especially with everything we discussed over winter break. There will be... opportunities to explore."

'She's referring to the potential collaboration between her family's necromancy company and my guild operations,' I realized. Though given her expression, she might also be hinting at more personal opportunities.

As we talked, the remaining seats filled with the rest of our elite class. I caught sight of Ian Viserion settling into his usual spot, his red hair catching the light as he organized his materials with characteristic precision. His golden eyes t mine across the room, and I offered him a friendly smile, which he returned with a slight nod of acknowledgnt.

Jin Ashbluff took his seat near the back, his black hair and dark eyes giving him an almost brooding appearance that matched his generally serious deanor. When he noticed my attention, I smiled in his direction as well.

The final student to enter was Ren Kagu, and the change in him was imdiately apparent. His white hair seed sohow duller than I rembered, and his distinctive violet eyes held a weight that hadn't been there before winter break. Where he'd once carried himself with quiet confidence, now he moved with the careful deliberation of soone nursing invisible wounds.

"Ren looks terrible," Rose murmured quietly, following my gaze.

Seraphina's pale eyes also tracked to our white-haired classmate, though she offered no verbal comntary. The slight tightening around her eyes suggested she'd noticed the change as well.

The classroom door opened one final ti to admit Professor Nero, his imposing presence imdiately commanding attention. The scattered conversations died away as all fourteen of us turned to face the front, ready to begin what would be our last sester at Mythos Academy.

'Here we go,' I thought, settling back in my seat as Seraphina and Rose gracefully claid the assigned chairs. 'The final sester begins.'
