"Are you alright?"

He asked, his voice surprisingly calm for a boy his age. A bright smile lit up his face, and I stared.

He had black hair, blue eyes, and a strikingly handso face.

For a second, a weird feeling lingered. It’s déjà vu, but this ti, I’m just surprised instead of feeling anything.

So much had happened, yet I felt oddly detached.

"Y-Yeah…"

I stamred, bowing my head in gratitude.

SHACK…

He sheathed his sword and gently handed Leanne to .

"I’ll take care of those Maulers quickly. I heard people in town ntion two girls arriving, but I didn’t know there would be three."

"Okay..." I replied, still feeling dazed.

3 minutes later…

"Incredible…"

I watched in shock as the boy slaughtered the entire pack of Maulers.

I had my doubts, but it was clear they were bound to lose.

In monts, they were all dead, with their bodies strewn across the forest floor.

He fought with a skill that defied his age. His swordsmanship was far beyond anything I had ever seen, surpassing even the most seasoned knights.

It was as if he were from another world, a place where swordplay was an art form, not just a ans of combat.

Right after that, he coolly handled the horses and drove like a pro.

I had never seen a child handle a carriage with such confidence and precision.

Who was this boy?

We reached Amberton Town, and he parked the carriage beside the wall.

I gathered Leanne in my arms and her unconscious body felt light against my chest.

The boy offered a hand, a gentle smile on his face.

"What’s your na?"

I asked out of curiosity, and he smiled right at again.

"Kaelan. You can call Kael for short."

Kaelan… that na doesn’t ring any bells, he isn’t from any distinguished family either, so either he’s a commoner or viscount or maybe even a baron.

After all, status is sothing that matters in this world that we live in.

"It’s nice to et you, Kaelan. You can call Florence."

CHIRP…CHIRP…CHIRP…

"mhm… is it morning already?"

My sleeping spot felt like hard grass, and when I opened my eyes, yep, it was.

All I could rember was the fight from last night and the ’Trinity Trait.’

I can’t believe this thing even exists, let alone does all these things. I’ll definitely learn how to use it, but I need to rember that dream of yesterday because I saw spirits for a mont.

If that dream is legit, then I’m closer to not being a background character.

"Ti to get up."

Looking up, I saw the monster’s feet and a white lab coat beside them.

I tried to get closer to see what it was, but I couldn’t get up.

I was too exhausted.

I tried to move my arms and legs, but they felt like lead. With a grunt, I flipped onto my stomach, my face pressed against the cool grass. I looked up at the clear blue sky, then turned my head to see Ezekiel sleeping peacefully beside the tree.

"Ezekiel, wake up," I called out, but he didn’t stir. "Hey... if you wake up, that Audrey girl will co and save you." I tried to crack a joke, hoping he was just faking it, but he remained unresponsive.

"I guess we’ll just have to wait here until one of us recovers," I muttered to myself.

Just then, loud footsteps echoed through the forest. I heard horses galloping towards us.

KLOP…KLOP…KLOP…

"Over there!" a voice yelled.

I sensed multiple mana signatures approaching from the north, the direction of Oakwood Town.

A flock of white and gold carriages burst through the trees, their horses snorting and stamping. Nivel leaped from the first carriage, his face etched with worry. But as his eyes landed on us, a wave of relief washed over him.

He rushed towards us, his gaze taking in Ezekiel’s unconscious form, the monster’s remains, and the scattered bodies of the guards.

"Julian," he asked, his voice urgent, "what happened?"

"I chased after Ezekiel," I explained, trying to keep my voice steady. "He ended up beating all the guys here, and even that gigantic monster over there..."

I avoided his gaze, feeling guilty for lying. But instead of questioning , Nivel pulled into a hug.

"I’m glad the two of you are safe," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "And I’m sorry Ezekiel did sothing so reckless to put you in danger..."

His voice wavered, and I realized he was on the verge of tears.

It wasn’t like Nivel to show such vulnerability, but I understood.

As a kid, there’s no scarier sight than your caretaker worried about your safety.

"Check the area now!"

The Aurean guards arrived with Nivel, and I couldn’t tell if they were shocked or bumd by what they saw.

They stood there, completely frozen, like a deer in headlights.

- By the gods...What kind of power could bend trees like that?

- And that crater... it’s like sothing exploded here!

A third guard knelt beside the bound and unconscious slavers.

- These n...they’ve been defeated simply by presence alone, they have no scratches either...

Oh, well... Even from here, I couldn’t hear them.

They were clearly focused on their work and not our safety.

Tsk... stupid enforcers.

"Who is responsible for all of this?"

There was a loud voice and when I looked over, I saw a really cool carriage and figured out the woman inside was the boss of Oakwood’s Aurean Enforcent.

Instead of the usual white and gold armor, she was dressed in a uniform that resembled that of a military general.

She approached Nivel and without a trace of confusion, but Nivel was too busy taking care of Ezekiel, who was still sleeping by the tree, and since I don’t want any credit to this stupid heroic act; I wanted to pin all of this on Ezekiel so that I won’t be blad for any of the damages he caused.

"Him,"

I pointed towards Ezekiel and the woman just looked at , almost in disbelief.
