Since the issue with the taxis had been settled, Raze decided it was ti to deal with the food for Fey. He asked Fey, Elaine, and Ella to wait for him in the sitting room while he headed to his room.
He entered, sat on the bed, and from there accessed the Dinsional Library.
The mont he appeared inside, he noticed the librarian floating beside a table, quietly reading a book. But as soon as the librarian spotted him, it snapped the book shut and imdiately flew up toward the upper floors.
Raze frowned. The behavior was strange.
Curious, he walked over to the table to check which book the librarian had been reading. But the mont his fingers touched the cover, a violent force surged out and slamd into him, throwing him backward.
He hit the ground hard, a groan escaping his lips.
[User level not high enough to access this book,] the library’s chanical voice echoed flatly.
Raze clenched his jaw and pushed himself back to his feet, still aching.
’A book from the higher floors?’ he thought. ’Then why did the librarian bring it down here?’
He stood there for a mont, trying to make sense of it, but he couldn’t afford to linger. There were more important things to handle right now.
With a sigh, he pushed the thought to the back of his mind.
Raze walked through the rows of towering shelves, scanning each spine carefully until his eyes landed on sothing useful, a cookbook.
He pulled it free, brushing a thin layer of dust from its rough leather cover. Raze had read a few cookbooks in his past life, he loved reading, after all, but he’d never actually cooked. Eating out had always been easier. So while he understood the theory, he preferred sothing to guide him properly this ti.
He opened the book.
Instantly, the world around him shifted. The air filled with the scent of roasted spices and simring broth. He could see dishes forming around him, steaming, vibrant, mouthwatering, as if the book had pulled him into a world made entirely of food.
It was almost overwhelming.
He snapped the book shut imdiately. If he let himself get lost in it, ti would slip away, and he had work to do.
"This library always tries to keep inside, tsk, I wish I could stay," Raze muttered.
With the book secured, he exited the Dinsional Library. When he opened his eyes again, he was back in his room, the book resting solidly in his hands.
Without wasting a second, he headed for the sitting room where the others waited.
The mont Fey saw him, he leaned forward. "Have you done it already?"
Raze shook his head. "Don’t be impatient," he said, his tone calm but firm. "I just need to make a list for Elaine first. She’ll get everything we need, and then we can start making the food for you."
Fey frowned, his lips tightening, clearly displeased, but he didn’t say anything. At least now they would actually start making the list.
Raze took a seat and opened the book. The sa phenonon was about to start again, but he forced himself to focus and then started skimming through it.
"Young master, I didn’t know you could cook or knew anything about cooking," Elaine stated.
Raze looked at her and smiled. "Elaine, I made perfus and soaps; cooking food shouldn’t co as a shock to you," Raze said, then looked at Ella.
"That being said, the woman lady Rosethat ca with you, she hasn’t returned or sent anyone," Raze said.
"She’s called Mrs. Green, Rose is her na, but she goes by her surna more often," Ella said and leaned back into the chair. "Also, I’m sure she must have told a few people. By the ti they start coming for you, you’ll have no ti to rest making those perfus and soaps," she said.
"I hope they do co quick. I need the money for developnt," Raze said.
After a while, he was done with the list and handed it to Elaine. She looked at it, and at so point kept raising her brows. Raze saw this and decided to ask,
"Is sothing the issue?"
"Many of the goods here don’t exist inside the town," she stated.
"Hmmm, I figured that would be the case. Well, it doesn’t matter, get what you can, and if you see anything similar as well, get it. I’ll do my best with that," he said.
"Understood, young master," she said and was about to leave.
"Let co with you," Ella said and followed behind. The both of them left and headed into town.
Raze then looked at Fey. "Alright, while we wait for them, how about you co and show your magic?" Raze said.
Fey looked at him for a few seconds, then shook his head. "I’d rather go and sleep. Show where to find a bed, or a nice, cool, soft place," he said and got on his feet. He stretched his hands over his head and yawned.
"Huh? Why would you sleep again? You’ve been sleeping for so long," Raze said.
"Yeah, and why do you think that is? Being takes a lot of energy, and sleeping is nice. So when you’ve finally gotten the food ready for , wake up," Fey said.
’This freaking slacker. He’s slept for more than a hundred years for certain, and yet he wants to sleep more and wake up to eat. This dude, tsk,’ Raze thought.
"How about a few minutes, and then you can have my room for sleeping," Raze said.
"No. How about I sleep, and then we can do whatever when I finally wake up," Fey said and headed for the stairs.
"Where the hell are you going?" Raze asked.
"To your room," Fey said. Sniff, sniff. He sniffed the air twice and kept walking.
"You don’t know my room," Raze said.
"But I know your sll, and I’ve picked up the trail. I’ll follow it to your room," Fey said and kept walking.
