Raze slowly lifted his head again. Though it felt like he carried a ton on his shoulders, he looked at those piercing eyes. "I just want to talk," he said again, a determined look in his eyes.

The creature focused deeply on him. "Hmm, I can’t sense any ill will from you," the voice said, and this ti it didn’t hurt. Raze could finally breathe easy.

He got back on his feet, used the back of his hand, and wiped the blood from his mouth. He looked at the eyes. "I honestly thought you would eat or sothing," he said, letting out a chuckle.

The creature blinked. "Eat you? I won’t. I have no desire for human flesh anymore," it said and then started walking forward. Raze moved back fast, and the figure ca into the lighter side of the cave.

Raze instinctively made another fla with his palm. This ti it didn’t go out, the flas showed the body of the creature he had been looking at.

A wolf that stood three ters tall, its fur as white as snow. It looked extrely majestic as it stood there.

Raze was stunned. His head tilted up at the wolf, his mouth opened to speak, but the words didn’t co easily. He stamred,

"Fenrir."

Imdiately he said that, the wolf looked at him. "You know what I am?" it asked.

Raze recalled the story extrely well. The Fenrir were a race of wolves known as divine beasts—extrely powerful and among the strongest beings to walk the world of the story.

But their race was said to have been wiped out by the Seven Demon Beasts, and what was left of them were sent into hiding.

Their race once stood on the sa grounds as dragons and Vermilions.

"I-I do," Raze said.

"I see, then you must be a very inford human," the Fenrir said. A sad look ford across its face. It looked up slightly. "If you know about my race, then you must also know what happened to the Fenrir," it said.

Raze bowed his head. "Yes, the Demon Beasts," he said, then looked up. "Is that why you’ve been hiding under this mountain?" he asked.

"Hmm, hiding? Tsk. To think a race such as mine would be brought to the level where the word ’hiding’ could be used for us," it said, then looked down at Raze. "But no, I am not hiding. I’ve been searching. For over three hundred years now, I have co out of hiding and have been searching for what remains of my race," it said.

"And I’m guessing that hasn’t happened," Raze said.

"Hmm," the Fenrir responded with a growl and then turned, walking deeper into the cave. It sat down and lay its head, not speaking again.

Raze understood the pain that the wolf must have been going through. He knew how bad it felt to be seen as the only one of your kind remaining, with no one to speak to and no one to stand beside you.

Raze walked forward, slow steps on the cold rocks. "Have you given up?" he asked.

"Given up? If that’s the way it is to be seen, then yes. Human, leave. Do whatever you want with the cave, but stay clear of where I lay.

The next ti I may not be so kind as to let you live. I’ll use you as nourishnt," the Fenrir said.

"But you said you were tired of human flesh," Raze said.

"Hmm, you rember every detail of our conversation?"

"Yes, I find it hard to forget things," Raze said.

"Hmm, I see. Human, I am indeed tired of human flesh, it lacks whatever I need now. But I’ll be inclined to kill you if you dare disturb my nap."

’Should I walk away now? Killing won’t take anything away from him, he’d do it in a blink. No, this is a freaking divine being. If I get on its good side, I’ll gain an ally so powerful, I could stop most dangers.’

Raze decided what he was going to do next. He looked at the Fenrir. "Then how about this, I provide you all you need food-wise," Raze said.

Fenrir turned to look at him, opening one eye. "Human, do you really believe that you can provide food sweet enough to please ? I have lived for thousands of years and have eaten an imnse amount of food. I find it hard to believe that you might have sothing I have yet to eat," the Fenrir said.

"And what if I do? I’m certain there are a hundred things I can make that you haven’t tasted, maybe even more.

But that’s not all. I have access to certain information, and I can help you gather information on the Fenrir. Your thods of searching for them have failed, so let offer my help," Raze said.

Growlllll!

His growl reverberated through the walls, and a heavy pressure pressed against Raze, sending him down to his knees.

"Human, you speak great claims. Are you trying to toy with ? If so, then you have a death wish."

Raze struggled to look up again. "I swear, none of what I’ve said is a lie! If it is, you can take my life!" he yelled.

The pressure stopped. The Fenrir looked at him. "Lift your head, human. I can see that you speak the truth.

If all that you’ve said is true, then you are helping imnsely. But for what? I can’t believe that a re human would offer all this without wanting sothing in return," the Fenrir said.

Raze got on his feet. He looked the Fenrir right in the eye. "What I want is your help, your presence and probably your protection. I am doing things that may attract a lot of attention, and people will co to destroy what I have built. When that ti cos, I need soone I can rely on to help ," Raze explained.
