Galad was staring deep into my soul when a ball-shaped beam of light shot out of my chest.

Sith quickly took his own form as he positioned himself between his father and . Then he turned his back to , facing Galad.

And he spoke rather quickly.

"No, Father."

Even though I couldn’t see his face as he folded his arms across his chest, I was sure he was quite... serious.

"I will not return. I see no place for in the royalty."

For the first ti, after Sith’s words, I saw sothing other than seriousness on Galad’s face.

And it was...

Bewildernt?

"You seem to have matured... Strange, for I always thought that was impossible for soone like you. But... you’re still just as foolish."

"You know there are much better options than . Just because I’m your son doesn’t an I have to be the one to take your place in the future."

Galad opened his mouth. He was going to say sothing with his usual calmness.

But then, he suddenly paused.

"Oh..."

He looked at Sith the way he had just looked at just a mont ago. And then, he looked even more shocked.

"You... You’re... foolish... yes. But I take it back, maturity has done you so good."

His lips curled upward for the first ti. He tore his eyes away from Sith and then turned to .

"We will accept your offer, human."

Huh...?

Didn’t he just say sothing about talking to the other kings a few seconds ago?

"I won’t touch your contract with my son either. It seems like it’s not a bad choice for Sith... to stay with you for a while."

A turquoise glow suddenly surrounded him. It was so bright that I couldn’t help but close my eyes.

And when I opened my eyes once more... he was no longer in front of .

Sith sighed sullenly, then turned to .

"He probably sensed the progress I’ve made in my quest to beco a prince. Good for you, I guess."

Oh...

"I understand... I understand that, but..."

Sith raised his eyebrows curiously. anwhile I... could only smile.

"Couldn’t he... not leave us here, but turn us back?"

Cause... even though we’re close to the city, we’re on top of a very high hill.

And, well... I’m a cripple...

*******

The descent of the spirits on Lunerra was sothing that caused upheaval across the planet initially in the ga.

And... reality was not much different.

Chaos.

That’s the word that could describe the dia right now.

The public did not know what really was happening. And those in authority were only just beginning to grasp what was happening.

And... the few things I had said in the street at the first mont of it all had quickly reached the ears of those at the top, even if they were hidden from the dia.

"Do you know what’s going on, Aiden?"

So...

"Yes, I actually do know."

The person who called in for an imdiate eting was none other than the highest authority in Cevilian.

"And yes, I will tell you everything I know."

Crown Prince Lucas Cevilian.

"Go on, please."

I straightened my posture slightly, my expression more serious. Just like Lucas.

"In short... a new humanoid species has arrived on Lunerra."

Lucas nodded, not really surprised. He had probably seen the ’fairies’ on the news.

"And this species is more... different, I guess you could say, rather than directly physical."

"Can you explain a bit more?"

"Basically, they can exist in this world like us. But their size is much smaller than ours, and they are naturally able to fly. They are also almost as skilled at using mana as elves. In fact, they might even surpass them in their specialty."

Lucas narrowed his eyes. His expression was much more serious than before.

"A species that can use mana better than elves, you say..."

"Yes... but that’s not all."

Before Lucas could react, or I could pay any attention to what he was doing, I quickly did sothing I’d never done before.

From the beginning of my conversation with Lucas, Sith had been with . He was sitting on my shoulder, listening quietly.

Under normal circumstances, no one could see him. But... it was because that was his preference. So he could show himself to other people if he wanted to from the very beginning.

The only reason he hadn’t done so until now was that no one on Lunerra knew about the existence of spirits, so we wanted to hide his existence.

Now, though, we don’t need to do that.

And... that’s exactly what happened. Sith, still sitting on my shoulder, lifted the veil that hid him from the physical realm.

A tiny turquoise glow appeared in the room. But it wasn’t even dazzling... and it left as quickly as it had co.

Prince Lucas’s eyes slid as fast as they could to my shoulder, right on top of Sith.

He wasn’t surprised, he wasn’t scared. In fact... he barely reacted at all.

He just kept looking at him.

"This is Sith. A Wind Spirit. And... also a spirit under contract with ."

Sith raised his hand. His lips curled up slightly as he waved for the first ti in his life to a different person than .

I continued, not caring much about the interaction between the two.

"I owe him every wind magic the world has ever seen from . And, well... you do know that ’wind’ is my specialty. So it wouldn’t be a lie if I told you that he’s the main reason I’m able to be here, in this position."

Lucas paused. For the first ti since the beginning of our conversation, his eyes widened as he reacted uncharacteristically, quickly straightening up.

"And yes, my ascension skill cos from him too."

So, it took about ten minutes to explain the whole spirit thing to Lucas.

His excitent faded a little when I explained that not every spirit could give their contractor an ascension skill, but it ca back with a greater amount of excitent when he realized the advantages that could only be gained through a contract.

"And you... how do you know so much?"

I pointed at Sith sitting on my shoulder and smiled.

"Because I have a contracted spirit, which is pretty high up in the ranks of this new species, and... as you know, I’ve already made contact with one of the rulers of the spirits. Not only that, we’ve reached an agreent."

This ti, I dropped the serious expression on my face and sat back, relaxed, and widened my smile.

"I am the guide... and therefore the representative of the new species, the spirits, coming to Lunerra."

*******

After my conversation with Lucas, a request was made for a eting about the existence of spirits to which all countries were invited.

Everything was arranged so quickly that the date was set for the night of the sa day.

When I found out the ti of the eting, it was only two hours before the appointed ti.

But these preparations were enough for to et Galad again. And it wasn’t a long eting... I just asked him for the ti and for him to co with the other spirit kings.

And then he disappeared without a word.

I had my doubts... but I tried not to make a problem out of it, as I believed there would be none, and just waited for the ti of the eting.

And an hour later, I found myself waiting behind Prince Lucas in a completely black room.

"Don’t be nervous. Well... I don’t think you will, considering you. But as a representative of a species, try not to show any weakness."

Lucas was... more serious than ever. For real.

His eyes were sharp, his posture straight, his expression cold as the countdown to the eting played on the holographic screen on the table in front of us.

He was what a ruler should be in monts like this.

At least that’s what he looked like.

~beep!

I paused as the sound echoed around the room, my eyes quickly shifting to the screen on the desk.

There were ten seconds left before the interview was to begin.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. As I gently transmitted mana to the Absolute Mind, I adapted myself to the person Lucas was: my posture, my look, my deanor, my voice... everything.

And after a final beep, I opened my eyes.

The countdown on the holographic screen faded away in a tiny animation. It was then quickly replaced by eight split screens, each with people dressed formally according to their culture...

Every one of the rulers of the other three human-ruled countries, with the exception of Cevilian, was here.

President of the Elhair Republic, Vinc Segis.

Queen of the Piarlin Dynasty, Josephine Sonae Piarlin.

Chief Plutocrat of the Annuma Plutocracy, Xalean Wellworth.

The rulers of the countries representing the dwarves and elves respectively were also present.

President of the Holar Republic, Houdhin Gargel.

King and Queen of the Kingdom of Eshaware, Faelan and Aranel Aroniel.

Two countries ruled by the Hannyas.

President of the Synath Federation, Kirowan Ilerath.

The Supre Commander of the Triata Military Junta, Ilith Asgarith.

And... last but not least, the country representing perhaps the most powerful species on Lunerra, the faes, who under normal circumstances would not easily attend any eting, but chose to attend this one...

A fae sent to represent ’Akael’, Qilara.

"Thank you for attending this eting, even if it was hastily arranged."

Lucas bowed his head slightly and addressed all the participants of the eting. The others... did not react much. But Lucas ignored it and raised his head back.

He got straight to the point, without any unnecessary verbiage.

"A new species has stepped onto Lunerra."
