"Why did you do that?"
Arin chuckled as he stared at Riya, who was currently glaring at him.
"Don't pretend like you didn't like it," Arin said as he folded his arms.
Riya tried to hide her smile, but she failed at it.
"Forget it," she said. "Let's talk about the plan."
Arin shook his head before his expression turned serious.
"Tessa and Leon have agreed to co with us," he said. "So we don't have to worry about that anymore, and we can move on to the next stage."
Riya nodded. "Alright. About leaving the Academy, I've co up with a way to do that."
Arin raised a brow, waiting to hear Riya's idea.
"So, rember my cousin who I wanted to introduce to you?"
"Yes," Arin replied.
"I was able to speak with him yesterday," she said. "He's a student of a Warrior Academy in this city, so with my status as a teacher of Greenfield Academy, I was able to enter the Academy and speak with him."
Arin nodded, listening to what she was saying.
"He will also be coming with us," she said as she stared at Arin. "I guess you already know why."
"Sure," Arin said.
He rembered that Riya told him that this cousin of hers also faced the sa thing as her and Tessa, aning that either his father or mother or even both were killed by Alex.
If this cousin would be coming with them, then Riya must have definitely told him about what he would be eting and he had agreed.
"He has a way of sneaking out of his Academy, and he would be outside this Academy very early in the morning waiting for us," Riya said.
"And I've also prepared a carriage at the path leading to the 'location', and he'll be the one riding it," she added. "The only thing remaining is how you, Tessa, and Leon will leave the Academy early in the morning."
Arin understood what she ant.
The teachers had their own houses in the city, so Riya would be able to reach the carriage in the morning.
But for them, they couldn't just et Brad, the security man, early in the morning and tell him to open the gate for them.
"Don't worry," Arin said. "We will et you and your cousin outside the Academy at the appointed ti. That won't be an issue."
Riya nodded and smiled. "Alright."
She knew that if Arin said sothing like this, then he certainly had a way.
"The three of you can just carry light bags containing a few clothes," Riya said.
Arin nodded in understanding as he leaned forward.
"About the ssage from the King," he began, "what do you think?"
Riya rested her elbow on the table, supporting her palm with her cheek.
"Arin, whatever you're thinking, it's true," she said, staring at Arin.
Arin smiled. "He'll definitely co for us."
He wasn't planning on joining any army, and Tessa was also coming with him.
As soon as the King realizes that both of them aren't present, he would definitely co for them, after all, they had one blessed item each, and his reason for giving them the blessed items was because he was preparing for a ti like this.
A ti when the three of them would join him and use the power of the blessed items to fight the Vampires.
Arin knew that Riya was still confused about why the King would want him and Tessa to co to the castle and carry out a task for him.
'She still doesn't know about the blessed items he gave us,' Arin thought.
There was no need to hide it from her, so he spent a few minutes telling her about the rewards they received from the King. Though, he didn't tell her that the item was called 'blessed item', if not, she would question how he knew the na of the item if the King didn't tell him the na or origin.
"No wonder he wants the three of you to be at the castle... So that you three can use the power of the items to join the Royal Army in battling the Vampires."
"Exactly," Arin said.
His gaze sharpened.
"But well, even though he'll co for and Tessa, I'm still not joining any army. I don't think he'll even have the ti to co for us," he added.
"Hmm, we just have to be even more cautious, after all, if he ends up coming for both of you, we're automatically enemies of this Kingdom," Riya said.
Arin sighed. "True, but there's no stopping now, I guess."
One would wonder why Arin would go to such an extent and take risks like this just for a certain blue-haired boy.
I an, wasn't Alex the hero of the humans?
The title of the novel was 'Humanity's Strongest Mage', and Alex was that mage the title was referring to.
He was the one who would end the Vampires for good whenever they ca to the human realm again.
He was pure, kind, and righteous... Or at least, that was how it looked in the first seventy chapters of the novel until the hints began coming.
And those hints... Those hints were so detailed to the point that it was even becoming obvious that Alex was not pure and righteous like the readers initially thought.
Arin considered himself quite smart when he was still on Earth, and right from the very first hint, he could already tell that sothing was off.
And after the other hints, and after fighting Alex for the first ti, he beca even more sure.
But what really was the final push? What was the final confirmation?
'After the information that unknown dude, or rather, the Great One transferred into my head, I beca really sure...'
It was that information that showed him how Alex was carrying out the ritual using the blood from the bodies of those he killed, and he also rembered that those he killed had a special kind of blood that could only work for the ritual.
Deep down, he knew that Alex wouldn't be the hero of this world, rather, he would be the end of this world.
Arin wasn't so hero or main character, but he had already decided that while stopping Alex, he would bring more chaos.
'Ah, if my current life was the starting chapters of a different story sobody was reading right now, I bet it would be quite a chaotic start,' Arin thought.
"Okay, we've decided on the ti we will et outside the Academy. Anything else?" Riya asked.
"I don't think so," Arin replied. "We're good for now. Any other thing will be discussed when we're finally on the carriage."
Riya nodded with a smile. "We've got this."
Arin smiled back at her.
"If you wouldn't mind, can I get a paper with a quill and ink?"
"Sure."
Riya opened her drawer and brought out the things Arin asked for.
Arin nodded and began writing down sothing on the paper.
When he was done, he gave the quill and ink back to Riya.
"Let guess... It's for Lina," Riya said as she opened the drawer and kept the quill and ink.
"Yes," Arin said. "It's better than leaving without letting her know."
"At least, she and my parents won't have to worry too much," he added.
Riya nodded. "I understand..."
Finally, Arin left the office, and after a few minutes of searching, he finally found Hector.
"Heu, Hector."
"Arin, Lina has been looking for you for a while now," Hector said as he walked towards Arin. "Which city did you get assigned to?"
"Blackstone City," Arin said with a straight face as he approached Hector.
"Please, give this to Lina tomorrow morning," he said, giving the folded paper to Hector.
Hector squinted his eyes. "Okay...? But I do-"
"Just give it to her once you see her tomorrow morning," Arin instantly said. "I know you'll be able to do that."
He trusted Hector enough to know that he wouldn't open it.
"Alright. I'll do that," Hector said.
Arin smiled. "Thank you."
With that, he began walking towards the forest.
It was already ti for his appointnt with Tessa and Leon.
He had to tell them the ti they would et and how they would leave the Academy.
Putting on his mask and entering the forest, he t the both of them at the usual spot.
He told them everything they needed to know for now about how they would leave the walls of the Academy.
Tessa also told him about the King's ssage she received from the paper Riya shared, but she also included the fact that it wasn't going to stop her from following him.
She had already made up her mind.
"I'll miss this spot," Tessa said with a small smile. "We've had a lot of conversations here..."
Arin just stared at her. "We've sure had..."
With that out of the way, they all headed towards their different rooms, after all, the sun was already setting, and it would soon be curfew ti.
Though, Arin was feeling quite uncomfortable because his back was itchy.
"I don't know what this ans, but there's only one thing I can think of..."
The Raven.
