"Of course..." Arin muttered as he finished unwrapping the sword.
The appearance of the sword alone was enough for anyone to know that it wasn't just so random sword.
Roxanne, who was curious, had already co to sit beside Arin, her eyes fixated on the sword.
"Sharp..." she muttered.
"I know, right?" Arin grinned.
With a glance, one would just instinctively know it was really sharp.
Arin traced his hands around the hilt of the sword. The hilt was a mixture of red and black. It was smooth and seed to be made of the scales of so Beast.
'They didn't ntion the Rank of the weapons,' Arin thought. 'They want to leave it as a mystery, but in the novel, Alex later found out the sword's Rank... It was quite easy for him, though.'
The sword was a Star Rank Weapon, but that wasn't even the best part about it.
The weapons the three of them were given were one of a kind... They could grow stronger with the owner.
Arin rembered that a genius blacksmith was the one who discovered that weapons like these could be made, and imdiately he inford the King, he beca the Royal Family's personal blacksmith.
Since then, he had been making these types of weapons for the Royal guards of the Kingdom and the Kingdom's army.
The King felt that it would be a good improvent for the soldiers of this Kingdom, in case a war were to ever happen again.
"A perfect reward..." Arin muttered as he stared at the sword.
Before Clara left, she told them to imbue Mana into the weapons.
This made them curious when they were in the castle, after all, she wouldn't just tell them that without any reason.
Without wasting ti, Arin quickly imbued Mana into the sword, and imdiately he did that, he suddenly felt sothing.
It was a warm sensation... as if sothing was moving in his chest.
Not even five seconds later, the feeling was no more, but he could feel sothing else...
"A connection..."
By imbuing his Mana into the sword, the sword had already recognized him as its owner and will now be able to grow stronger with him.
Now, it was at the Star Rank, but imdiately Arin Ranked up to the Grandmaster Rank, the sword would also beco stronger.
'I don't necessarily have to Rank Up,' Arin thought. 'If I make even the slightest improvent with my Mana and Spells, the sword would also make that slight improvent.'
He placed the sword on Roxanne's hand, allowing her to admire it further as he moved on to the last item.
The wrapped item instantly appeared in his hand, and a smile ford on his face.
"This is the best reward of them all," he muttered.
Without wasting ti, he quickly began removing the green cloth that was sewn around the item.
Within seconds, he had fully removed it, and what greeted him was a...
"A ring case?" Arin muttered. "Ah, the last reward changed, huh?"
Though the reward was the sa in a sense, it was still kinda different.
The ring case was black-coloured and had an insignia on it, signifying that it was from the Royal Family.
Arin opened it and the ring revealed itself.
"Wow, that's... plain," Roxanne said.
Arin nodded in agreent as he stared at the ring.
It was just plain black with no design, but Arin felt like he knew why it was like that.
'If it was fancy, it would certainly be an attraction magnet... and that would not be good, especially considering the caliber of this item.'
The reward was the sa, but still different at the sa ti.
It was the sa because it was a blessed item.
Yes, the last items Arin, Tessa and Ron received were blessed items.
Blessed items were certain items passed down from the founders of this Kingdom.
Arin didn't know how the items were ford and it wasn't ntioned in the novel either, but they were certainly powerful.
Arin knew that there were quite a high number of them in the castle, and he knew without a doubt that the King's children had at least one each.
As for why the reward was still different, in the novel, none of them got a ring.
So, this was just another thing that changed alongside so of the rules in the tournant.
'And there's no doubt that even more things might have changed... so that I'm not even aware of yet.'
Honestly, Arin was still satisfied with the ring, after all, it was still a blessed item at the end.
But he didn't want to conclude yet, after all, he still hadn't known its effect.
"The effect will still be powerful, though," Seraphine said. "Since it seems this blessed item you're talking about is really strong."
Arin nodded. "Let check it now..."
"I wonder what the others got... It might also be different items from the items that were actually given in the novel."
Not wasting any more ti, he quickly imbued his Mana into the ring, and instantly, information flooded into his head, making him close his eyes.
The first set of information were things he already knew. It was about how powerful the item was, and that once their Mana has been imbued inside it, it was automatically bound to them.
Though there was nothing about it being a blessed item.
Arin wasn't bothered by this because he already knew from the novel that the four of them who won the tournant didn't know that the items were called blessed items, and the King didn't tell them either.
'He probably didn't want them to know about the existence of blessed items at that ti,' Arin thought.
He began assessing the second set of information which was the most important to him, after all, it contained information on the effect of the blessed item.
Arin suddenly smiled, making Roxanne look at him curiously.
"So this is the strength of a blessed item, huh?" he muttered.
"Tell ... what can it do?" Seraphine instantly asked, just as curious as Roxanne.
"It's a defensive item," Arin said out, making Roxanne also hear him.
"But it doesn't just provide any defense," Arin added.
Roxanne and Seraphine's curiosity wasn't even quenched in the slightest, after all, Arin had barely said anything about the item.
"It can't protect from normal attacks, but since the ring is bound to , it can sense attacks," Arin explained. "And once it senses an attack that it deems too dangerous, or it knows I won't be able to block, it'll instantly form a protective barrier around that'll completely block the attack."
"And that barrier MUST block the attack... it's a 100% guaranteed," Arin added.
"Woah!" Seraphine exclaid.
"That ans, in a fight, you won't be able to get hit," Roxanne said with an amazed expression.
"But it still has a cooldown," Arin said, making both of them curious again.
"The barrier can only be ford five tis a day," Arin said.
'But that's still OP as fuck,' he thought.
"Blessed items, huh?" Seraphine said. "They're powerful..."
Arin's ring alone made it clear that these blessed items are really powerful.
"So, in a way, they can be considered artifacts, right?" Roxanne muttered with a thoughtful expression.
Arin nodded. "Hmm, that's true... it's just like Artifacts that have special effects."
This made Arin wonder if they were maybe of the sa origin, but Artifacts worked with Blood Energy, so it probably wasn't the case.
He didn't give it much thought.
Seraphine kept talking about how amazing the ring was and how it would help him a lot, but while she was talking, Arin was thinking of sothing... sothing he didn't think about when reading the novel.
He squinted his eyes. 'The blessed items are powerful items and they would aid the Royal army a lot if the war was to start now, but...'
'But Rowan gave sothing that valuable to the three of us as a reward... one each.'
If there was one thing Arin had a slight belief in, it was the saying that people give because they want sothing in return.
Though it may not apply in every case, there were instances where that saying would be completely believable... a lot of instances.
And now that Arin thought about it, this was one of those instances.
'If Rowan casually gave one blessed item each to three of us, then what exactly does he want in return that he's not telling us?'
Arin could feel it... Rowan gave those blessed items as a reward because he also wanted sothing from the three of them.
And that answer would co sooner than expected, along with the initiation of his plan.
********
The next day.
It was already afternoon, and the breeze was chillier than usual.
KNOCK! KNOCK!
Clinton squinted his eyes as he stared at the door that was being knocked on rapidly.
"Co in," he said calmly.
A guard instantly opened the door, entering the office. His face was filled with shock and a mixture of fear.
"My Prince... I... five cities have been attacked by the Vampires!"
"What!?"
