Arin and Liora stood in the empty space, facing each other as they stared at each other.
'Ah, I ended up accepting the duel,' Arin thought as he gripped the sword he was holding tightly. Liora had given him one of her swords, so she was also holding one.
'Well, I don't see any hidden motive behind it, and she requested politely,' Arin thought.
Though, the main reason he accepted the duel was because of what Seraphine told him about how Progenitors respect each other.
Liora also gripped her sword with both hands, her posture making it clear that she was ready to attack.
Arin squinted his eyes as he whispered, "Overheat...."
Imdiately, he could feel his blood boiling as parts of his skin began turning red. Red smoke also began oozing out from his skin.
Liora squinted her eyes. 'Overheat, huh? He can already use the First Innate Skill.....'
But Arin wasn't done.
He also activated the Aura Skill, making a red aura shroud him. Now, his physical capabilities were doubled because of the Overheat Skill, and even more enhanced with the Aura Skill. The Aura Skill also acted like a shield.
'He can also use the Second Innate Skill....? Surprising,' Liora thought. 'He might have more control over his Blood Energy and Vampiric Skills than I thought.'
Well, she wasn't too surprised. After all, for so reason—which she might actually know—Seraphine was with him.
Since Arin had activated these skills, his Blood Energy got released, causing his appearance to change. His brown hair elongated, reaching his lower back as the color turned white. His eyes glowed a deep red as his fangs and claws revealed themselves.
Liora watched the transformation with squinted eyes. 'So it was because he wasn't really using his Vampiric Skills before, that was why his true appearance remained hidden.'
Liora truly had so questions about Arin's sudden transformation, but they would have to wait till later.
"Shall we begin?" she asked.
Arin nodded his head in response as he lowered his knees, crouching lightly.
'My senses are heightened due to the skills, so I should be able to follow her move~'
Before Arin could even finish his thought, Liora was no longer standing in the sa spot.
'Huh?'
WHOOSH!
Arin suddenly felt sothing from his right side. Without wasting ti, he moved his sword swiftly toward his right side.
CLANG!
Sparks flew as his sword and Liora's sword collided. Instantly, he leaped back, creating distance between himself and her.
'He was able to block it.....' Liora thought as she gripped her sword again. 'As expected.'
Arin instantly used his aura to form spikes and swords above him. He also used his Blood Spike Skill, increasing the number of spikes above him.
WHOOSH!
With a single motion, the spikes and swords rushed toward Liora with imnse speed, with Arin following behind them.
Liora stood unfazed as she faced the incoming spikes. Before they could reach her, she suddenly stretched out her right hand, and then...
SHING! BAM!
A transparent blood barrier instantly ford in front of her, stopping the attacks and even destroying so of them.
Arin, who was still rushing toward her, instantly noticed that the barrier only covered the front of her.
A smirk appeared on his face as he increased his speed. As soon as he reached her front, he suddenly slid to the left, gripping his sword.
Liora's brows furrowed. 'Huh? He changed direction?'
Arin instantly swung his sword with imnse force toward her.
CLANG!
The clanging sound this ti was louder as Liora blocked the strike with her sword.
Suddenly, she added more force to her sword, sending Arin flying.
WHOOSH!
While in the air, Arin did a backflip, stabilizing himself.
SHING!
His claws scraped the floor as he slid on the ground after landing.
In the blink of an eye, he stretched out his right hand toward Liora and clenched it as Blood Energy ford in front of his fist.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Instantly, he began shooting Blood Orbs toward Liora, who was dashing toward him with imnse speed.
Imdiately after seeing the Blood Orbs, Liora began moving in a zigzag manner, evading the orbs.
BOOM! BOOM!
She slashed her sword, destroying one of them before leaping up, heading straight for Arin.
She ca down like a teor, her sword ready to strike.
'She's really fast...' Arin thought.
He was unable to move out of the way on ti, so there was only one choice.
CLANG!
Their swords collided, causing sparks to fly. The force the both of them were using to grip their swords was so strong that their swords began shaking.
Liora kept leaning closer to Arin, increasing the force of her sword.
'At this rate, I'll be sent flying again,' Arin thought.
At that point, he suddenly noticed sothing, making a grin appear on his face.
Before Liora could even wonder why he was grinning, Arin instantly spoke.
"Are you that desperate to kiss again?"
"Huh?"
That was when Liora realized how close her face was to his because she had kept leaning closer to him to increase the force.
What Arin said was so sudden and unexpected that she was slightly startled—but that was exactly what Arin wanted.
Because she was startled, she montarily stopped adding pressure to her sword, giving Arin a chance to push her back slightly.
Before she could react, Arin swung his sword with imnse force again, but she blocked it. Though, the force moved her backward slightly because she was yet to completely regain balance.
Taking the chance, Arin jumped up and spun his body, his right leg moving toward her with force.
WHOOSH!
Liora was able to move her head backward on ti, evading the kick. As soon as Arin landed, he twisted his left leg, moving it toward her stomach.
Liora leaped backward, evading the kick. Now, they both stood, facing each other.
Suddenly, Liora's eyes glowed. "I think it's ti to end this."
Before Arin could even say anything...
BOOM!
'Huh? Her aura..... It's overwhelming....'
A red aura shrouded Liora, spreading out, filling the entire room. It even suppressed Arin's aura. Though, he could still stand even with the force.
Liora suddenly pointed her fingers toward Arin like a gun as a great but compressed mass of Blood Energy ford in front of her fingers.
Arin's eyes were fixated on her fingers. 'I can't use my Arcane Chaos Spell to disrupt Vampiric Skills, but I can dodge it... I can.'
But before he could even move...
WHOOSH! BOOM!
He felt a slight breeze pass his right ear, followed by a booming sound behind him.
He looked up, staring deep into Liora's eyes.
Her expression was as calm as ever as she spoke, "I won't miss the next one."
