"When are we leaving?" Ryan asked.
Alaric thought about it for a mont before answering. "This weekend. I'll ask for permission."
"All right." Ryan nodded. "See you then."
Having achieved his goal here, he walked toward the university's Training Center. Due to the ti of day, it was a little lonely, just as he needed it to be.
He walked over to where the practice swords were and grabbed one.
It was thin but sturdy. It had the right weight so it wouldn't bend easily and a fairly prominent tip, although it had been worn down from heavy use.
He chose to enter one of the combat arenas, where several training dummies, so made of straw and others of concrete, were placed.
He ran toward them and struck one with his sword. As he expected, it didn't break, but it served his purpose for training by striking it repeatedly, just as he had been doing these past few days. His mind wandered to various things while imrsed in frantic but steady movents.
These days of study had been fruitful for him, but that night of intense battles was the most fruitful he had experienced since arriving here. Although he used his Spiritual Projection little, the little he did use made him realize the correct way to reach level 2 of it.
Spiritual Projection is really just the ability to produce light, heat, and electricity using your own power. Being a magical concept employed by the spirit, it is strongly linked to your understanding.
Understanding of what?
From the concepts you want to project.
For example, what is light? It is electromagnetic radiation, a form of energy that travels as waves and is composed of photons...
That answer is correct and useful for learning the concept, but initially what you need is more of a basic understanding than a technical one.
You need to imagine light and its components visually, but then the question may change. It is no longer what it is, but how do I move it from one place to another? It is no longer how do I create it? That is answered in the first question. Now cos, how do I project it outward?
The sa thing happens with the other concepts of Spiritual Projection. Heat and finally electricity are usually the most difficult because they involve realistic and multiple deadly dangers.
He had all these concepts morized, so it was only a matter of ti and training to level up, and these days he has focused precisely on that, on shaping his own spirituality quickly and concisely, also using the thod Alaric had co up with before.
Although it was not the path he had followed before, it complented it very well, and he advanced by leaps and bounds, looking like a true genius.
As proof of this.
While continuously striking the different training dummies without damaging them due to his lack of physical strength, Ryan suddenly stopped. He took a deep breath, which increased the temperature inside his body.
He raised his hand toward one of the dummies and pretended to stab it in the stomach with his sword...
A projection attack erged from the tip of his sword, piercing through the concrete statue, which had nurous breaches open throughout its sturdy body.
This projection was a great flash of light, much like a cot. It had a fairly large trail that was part of the main attack. It was his own creation when he was a demigod, the Flash of Light of the Ancient Cot. The entire body of this "light" has the sa power, making it extrely potent, regardless of the level at which it is made.
In addition to being much stronger than the ones he had made before in this body, it traveled at an astonishing speed and was also able to reach the protective barrier on the other side, more than 40 ters away, and send waves through it.
This distance and power were worthy of the second level.
The dummy in front of Ryan swayed from side to side, so he smiled smugly and began hitting them again continuously.
He seed to have a pattern of attack.
The first mannequin was attacked from the left. He quickly moved to the second one in the sa movent to attack it from the right, then moved on to the third mannequin and gave it a strong vertical upward blow, finishing with a vertical downward blow that allowed him to continue with the vertical upward attack on the previous mannequin and, in the sa way, attack the previous mannequins again.
It was an exotic combination of precise and accurate movents that moved each dummy strongly but could not destroy them.
Even so, being able to leave marks on them made him feel that he was making remarkable progress.
The first few days he trained this way, his attacks on the concrete ca back at him with more force than he struck, as he couldn't perfectly control the rebound power, nor could he even leave a small mark on it.
Now he not only leaves marks on them, but also leaves "wounds" with his pure blow.
He is growing stronger, spiritually and physically.
After a series of movents, he stopped again, and this ti he did not attack with a lunge, but made a larger movent, from top to bottom.
His sword soon created an arc of heat. There was little light, but anything it touched would imdiately suffer the consequences of having touched sothing extrely hot, as this was highly concentrated heat.
It wasn't bright but just as dangerous as the light attack. This attack ford a crescent shape.
The Crescent of Death.
It wasn't reaching its full potential, maximum capacity, or maximum power, but it was powerful enough to easily cut through the concrete dummy.
Its range was the sa as before, but the attack was concentrated in the main form this ti. A large wave ford in the protective barrier, causing the heat to spread throughout the room.
Just then...

Ryan smiled, completely satisfied.
