Ryan locked himself in once again. There wasn’t much ti left, so he had to be quick with his preparations.
His suit adorned his face once more, and he also took out his sword, although he didn’t use it. Instead, he moved around the room, touching the floor, walls, and ceiling all around him, until he found a section of it that was reinforced.
’This is it,’ he thought.
He took out so shields he had bought yesterday afternoon and placed them around the room, then simply sat down to wait for ti to pass.
With two minutes to go, he got up and grabbed Sara by the neck, dragging her back to where she had been before.
He looked at the clock and, with one minute to go, set off an alarm before throwing it into the air. It fell in the middle of the room, and he smiled as it rolled across the floor.
It wasn’t damaged, so it was a good watch.
And the countdown began when there were 30 seconds left.
The ticking of the clock made Sara feel slightly desperate. Although she didn’t want to count them, her mind unconsciously did so.
25 ticks later...
"The ti has co." Ryan smiled.
Tick.
"It’s ti for the reason you ca to this world to be fulfilled."
Tock.
"You... Put down!" Sara shouted.
Tick.
But the sound didn’t stop. She soon beca desperate. She obviously knew what would happen when it reached 30 sounds.
She would explode, perhaps die or fall into a coma.
Those explosions were no joke. Although she couldn’t study them, if this guy was so sure, it ant they were real.
She had to escape!
She struggled, but the tick sounded again.
Her heart leapt into her throat.
Just then, Ryan jumped over her.
The door opened.
She thought: this is my chance...
But suddenly, Ryan grabbed her firmly by the waist and stepped forward as if he wanted to dance with her.
"Sotis you have to tempt death with style," he said...
In reality, he was pushing her closer to the explosions, further away from her escape. At the sa ti, he took the item out of his clothes and held it practically in front of him, supported by his other hand.
Tick.
Suddenly, the explosives around them began to shake slightly. The Kazaks felt fear; they had been listening all this ti, and although they weren’t overly intelligent, they could understand perfectly well what this ant.
Just then, the half-dead civilian stirred. Everything hurt, especially his head, where he had been struck.
He opened his eyes at the screeching sound of what he thought was an alarm, but was greeted by a world turning white...
BOOOOOM*
.
Near the western part of the neighborhood, Captain Garner was trying to restrain Brandon.
Captain Garner swallowed hard with fear. He had already gotten in this guy’s way four tis... he didn’t know how many more tis he would survive.
’Damn it, Mr. Samuel, co back quickly. He’ll surely listen to you better...’ He felt desperate, but Samuel had decided to enter the mansion they were guarding at that very mont.
Right now!
He sighed, but he had to speak again.
"Prince Brandon, we understand that it is your duty, as it is ours. But you do not have enough power to enter the place where our prince is carrying out his mission, unless he allows it," said Garner. "Please... we believe we have him, which is why we asked the local leaders for help and surrounded the area so he couldn’t escape..."
Although he spoke firmly, his insides trembled at Brandon’s gaze. That guy could have him killed if he wanted to... He didn’t know if his prince could do that to one of Brandon’s subordinates.
So they were at a clear disadvantage when it ca to confronting him.
"I told you to let in!" he roared and drew his sword.
Just then, several powerful people belonging to the city’s troops arrived above the houses and frowned as they looked down.
Sothing strange was about to happen...
Brandon was stunned. ’Did this developnt really agree to ally itself with that bastard? Impossible, I don’t believe it!’ He felt desperate and tried to get in, but then...
BOOOOOM*
The explosion alard not only them but practically the entire region of the city because it occurred upwards and sideways.
The mansion where it happened was heavily damaged in one area, while the other remained intact.
Garner imdiately turned around, in shock.
"Ninth Prince!"
His heart imdiately sank, and he didn’t even have ti to think before his body reacted instinctively to run toward the explosion.
Brandon frowned and, without thinking, ran after the soldiers who were rushing to the scene. But he stopped short when he saw a man he recognized coming up behind him.
"Minister Martin!"
Martin turned to look at him and was surprised. "Prince Brandon... I’m sorry I didn’t greet you properly. I have to go," he said, and without paying him the slightest attention, he ran back to where the explosion had occurred.
’What is he doing here? Right, a while ago I saw those puppets that must belong to that woman, and she’s part of the Minister’s group...’ he thought.
"It could be..."
His eyes lit up when he realized sothing, and he ran after Martin.
Many people gathered at the site of the explosion, and Martin was quick to arrive.
The first person he saw was Samuel, who was wounded in several parts of his body and was walking with a limp, clutching his heart. His face seed to be in severe pain.
As soon as he saw Martin, he smiled. "Leader... those guys... exploded," he said, before falling unconscious to the ground.
Martin, alard, grabbed him, but then the smoke from the explosion dispersed, and he quickly handed Samuel’s body to Garner before running toward the site of the explosion.
It was in the westernmost part of the mansion, and everything there, including the floor and most of the walls, had been destroyed.
A woman lay unconscious with her head down against one of the remaining walls, much more seriously injured than Samuel.
"Miss Cecily!" He ran to her, checked her breathing, which seed to be fading, but he didn’t have ti to worry about her.
CRACK*
Part of the walls that remained standing due to sheer inertia collapsed, exposing the whole situation.
"Ninth Prince!"
"Ninth Prince!"
Martin’s cry was joined by that of several soldiers who ca to his aid, but they were shocked to see him in such a pitiful state.
