Yotsuya Miko felt uneasy looking at Komachi's smile. C

ould she have found out about what happened last night? That couldn't be—she had checked carefully before going back.

Both of them had been sound asleep.

Unable to understand it, Miko decided to follow her father's advice and pretend nothing had happened.

"Good morning, Komachi-chan." She raised her hand and greeted Komachi with a smile. Then she sat properly at the dining table.

"By the way, Miko-nee, can I borrow your towel?" Jumping up from the sofa, Komachi was about to go wash up quickly but realized she hadn't brought anything with her.

"Of course." Miko nodded and led Komachi to the bathroom, pointing out her own towel.

When they ca out of the bathroom again, Hikigaya Hachiman had already placed breakfast on the table.

Looking at the relatively luxurious breakfast, Miko was a bit surprised.

Before she started bringing lunch boxes for Hachiman, his usual lunch was just bread and soft drinks.

That made her assu his cooking skills weren't very good.

"Is there sothing wrong?"

Seeing the surprised look on Miko's face, Hachiman tilted his head, confused. Did she not like the breakfast? Or was there sothing she couldn't eat? If so, that was his oversight.

Before going out, he should've asked the uncle what Miko liked to eat...

"No, I'm just surprised that you can cook." Sitting down at the table, Miko looked at Hachiman sitting opposite her and decided to be honest.

"Nowadays, guys who can cook are indeed rare, but that doesn't an they're extinct."

Hachiman pulled out his phone and checked his email and LINE ssages. Finding no one contacting him, he put it away again.

"Besides, Oniichan's future dream is to beco a house-husband. Cooking is just the basics." At that mont, Komachi ca out of the bathroom and added.

"A house-husband?!" Hearing Komachi, Miko looked at Hachiman incredulously.

Hachiman, who had saved her from evil spirits multiple tis and was so strong, had the biggest life goal of becoming a house-husband?!

"That's right. Finding a rich woman is definitely my biggest dream..."

Seeing Miko's "are you kidding ?" expression, Hachiman scratched his head a little embarrassed, already ntally resigned.

"Is it just about the money?" Unexpectedly, Miko didn't laugh at his dream but rather looked thoughtful.

"Just curious, Hikigaya-kun, what do you define as 'rich'?" Miko asked with a clear attitude.

"Miko-nee, you're not thinking of supporting Oni-ichan, right?"

Hearing Miko's pointed question, Komachi couldn't help but chi in. Even high-earning professionals no longer caught Hachiman's eye since his 30 million yen in assets were still in her account.

Ahem, "Let's eat the breakfast first..."

Watching the two won discussing how to support him right in front of him, Hachiman felt so embarrassed he might as well dig up all four Japanese islands with his toes.

He coughed a few tis, interrupting their talk and steering the topic toward breakfast.

"It tastes really good..." After just one bite, Miko's eyes lit up. The breakfast was simple and common fare, but that made it all the more challenging to cook well. The eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. It was obvious he had trained countless tis.

"Do you usually cook at ho, Hikigaya-kun?" Only one reason could explain his impressive cooking skills. Miko couldn't think of any other way he could have developed them.

"No, normally I cook and Onii-chan does the dishes." But Komachi ruthlessly shattered Miko's assumption.

"Eh?!" Miko paused in mid-motion.

Not practicing regularly yet Hachiman's skills were better than hers? She never thought she'd lose in such an unexpected area, and it made her feel strangely uneasy.

. Inoue Yasutaka hated sunlight. Not only because evil spirits prefer the night, but more importantly because his powers weakened significantly during the day.

For example, now. If it were nightti, he'd have about a 1% chance of escape.

But at dawn, he could only tremble and stare helplessly at the human sitting on his sofa.

"You're Inoue Yasutaka, right?"

Though male, Inoue had to admit the human before him was quite handso and spoke kindly and gently. If it weren't for his life hanging by a thread, he might've thought the guy was very approachable.

"You guys always make such troubleso choices." The man on the sofa sighed.

Because it was a hassle, he and the other four had already made an agreent with the heads of the evil spirits: as long as it wasn't too extre, they'd all turn a blind eye.

But there were always spirits who chose to bring trouble on themselves—like Inoue Yasutaka before him.

"Last night's incident had nothing to do with ..." Inoue tried to explain the cause of the evil spirit riot, but the man raised a hand and silenced him imdiately.

"I think you're mistaken." Rubbing his forehead, the man looked at the suddenly panicked Inoue with helplessness.

"Since I'm already here in front of you, I'm obviously not here to ask for your reasons. Besides, even if last night's incident really wasn't your fault, if I say it was, then it was."

"!!!" Inoue never expected an exorcist to be so unreasonable. Weren't higher-level spirits supposed to say exorcists were reasonable?!

"Looks like you have nothing left to say."

Seeing Inoue trembling silently, the man assud he admitted guilt. He lightly slid a finger, and the long sword resting on Inoue's neck instantly slashed through his left forearm.

"Ugh!" The sudden intense pain made Inoue widen his eyes, but silenced by the man, he couldn't even scream.

As Inoue gasped for air to ease the pain, the man's ghostly voice sounded again.

"Good! You didn't scream even though it hurts so much—I like evil spirits with backbone like you!" "Bring it on again!"
