"You need to enter the car, Sir,", one of the guards pushed.

I swung the door open, revealing a man draped in pink on the other side.

I knew very well who it was, but this was the first ti I had actually t the man.

The familiar pink suit and broad pink hat remained unchanged. There was also a white watch on his wrist.

Truly peculiar...

Yet there was no mistaking it; he was The Lord.

The Lord, chose to remain wordless as I entered the car and slid into the back seat.

He was looking through the window opposite of .

The door I entered through was closed by one of the guards, and the car took off right away.

Choosing to fix my gaze forward, avoiding direct eye contact with The Lord, I decided to ask a simple question to begin with, "Why was I interrogated?"

The Lord spoke slowly with his deep voice, still not giving as much as a glance. "I apologize for the inconvenience, Max. This interrogation was not directed at you, and Olivia will be released soon too. I want to appologize that we made up all of this and put you in the spotlight."

Wait... I knew that this was a setup, but I think this went even further beyond. And also...

"You can speak English?", I asked.

The Lord responded, "I’m not speaking English. It’s you who hears it that way."

"Why couldn’t you do that in my dreams then? I wasted ti learning Latin."

The Lord replied with royal poise, "Not everything can be done while connecting to the separation."

"Separation?"

"This is a topic that you don’t need to worry about for now."

Though a part of wanted to press on with more questions, I sensed it would likely be a futile effort.

"Okay... Where are we going now?"

"To the White House."

"Right. Of course. Why not. So anyways... If that interrogation wasn’t aid at , then who was it aid at?"

"You have conversed with her twice already. She was working for , here on Earth. It turned out that she was a double agent."

"Professor Lillian?"

"That constituted one of her roles, but upon her delivery of a letter that she wasn’t instructed to, I deed it necessary to test her."

Now I knew that he definitely saw everything, but could he also read my thoughts?

Did he know that I knew about the serum?

He continued, "After you have read the information from the letter bearing the ’Z’, I found myself unable to use Sight for so duration, and there are only a select few reasons that might cause that."

"Yes? What are the reasons?", I asked, but I didn’t expect The Lord to snap.

His tone changed to a more... insane one?

"Shishishi! With the additional information already at my disposal, I could consolidate those into a singular deduction... The Zytherians! They believed themselves clever, attempting to veil it as the Zytharion, an Ulthar attempting to contact you. Little do they know, I have already forged an alliance with him."

The Lord’s laughter carried a regal undertone as he shared his revelation.

He then turned towards , and I was taken aback.

His hair glead silver, and his countenance resembled that of a handso twenty-year-old, boasting symtrical features—almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, high cheekbones, and a sharp jawline.

His flawless complexion bore no deformities

Yet despite the youthfulness of his appearance, his voice resonated deep and low, creating an eerie and creepy sight.

"Tell , Max. Did they inform you about the Somnus Veri?"

Well, I guess there was no hiding it.

"They did. However, I have a better question for you: Why didn’t you tell about it before?"

"There was a distinct reason for it. The more you know about it, and the more you focus on it, the worse the side effects beco. That’s also why I didn’t contact you every day and didn’t burden you with every small detail.", The Lord’s explanation carried a genuine sense of consideration.

"Side effects, you say. I guess I know sothing about that, but do you know more about them?"

"It has to do with efficiency, and its not purely beneficial. That’s what my informant said, and these side-effects are precisely why I needed this eting."

"Sure. To be honest, I don’t see any malicious intent in what you’re saying, but The Zytherians say that you’re a lunatic."

"A lunatic? Hahaha. That’s a good one. Max, The Zytherians are a lying bunch of shitheads. And you will co to realize that in the future..." The Lord’s response echoed with a confident dismissal of The Zytherians’ claims.

"Speaking of the future. What are you doing all this for? You want to destroy The Zytherians? Is that it?"

"Max, your understanding is yet limited, but as ti unfolds, you will grasp the purpose. Our cluster faces a difficult situation and we need to comprehend certain laws to get out of it unscathed."

"Certain laws? Like Quantum Laws, perhaps?"

"I would say you’re getting warr with that. Unfortunately, if I were to disclose it now, you wouldn’t even scratch the surface of understanding."

"Fine, then at least tell why was I the one chosen for this?"

"There were several reasons. You were 18 years old—a perfect age for the hard dicine to be administered."

He continued, "You didn’t live with your family, making it less likely for you to easily share the changes happening to you with anyone."

"Why would that matter?" I interrupted.

"Well... let’s just say that the interrogation you just went through wasn’t a one-ti thing. Sotis we need to make people do what we want for the sake of the civilization, and things do get out of hand sotis. All I can say is that psychologists are really useful. Hahaha."

This didn’t sit right with ; I was fairly certain that what he intended to convey was that they had manipulated nurous individuals into believing they were insane before.

He then turned serious, his voice carrying a regal authority, "But you divulged all that to your girlfriend... extending my assistance so early wouldn’t have been advantageous for either of us. Be grateful she didn’t spit it out."

"Is that all? Aren’t there many people in the sa situation?"

"Yes, but you lost consciousness at just the right ti, you were in a good environnt, and you didn’t take the Covid vaccine, so feel lucky."

The Covid vaccine? It wasn’t like I didn’t want to take it.

My family stopped from taking one after the blood clot that my mother experienced back in 2021.

I had to go through lots of trouble because of that.

"But this timing with your girlfriend in the last couple of days, Max. It was perfect. I was able to easily get rid of that double agent. As well as any potential trouble. It’s as if fate is favoring us.", he said a weird smirk on his face.

In that mont, the pink rcedes glided towards the imposing gates of the White House.

"Won’t I be stopped at the railings? I can’t just enter like that," I expressed my concern.

"Don’t worry, Max. It’s the sa with . There are only three citizens on Earth, other than you, who know about my existence, including the President of the USA."

"Here," The Lord said, handing a small white pill.

"What is that?"

"In our cluster, we call it Luminia. It will make your cells invisible to the naked eye. I gave you a similar pill back when I first t you. That one was for regenerative purposes."

Now I was certain that The Lord was the one who personally injected the Somnus Veri into .

"I didn’t want to regenerate back then. If I had the bruises, I could have sued the boys who have been bullying at that ti."

Wait! Now that I think about it, current technology on Earth can’t heal the blood clot in the veins of the retina, but maybe those pills could.

"Let tell you sothing. No one cares about that. Leave the small matters behind you. I needed you to be in your best form. Now! Take the pill and disrobe."

"Huh?"

"I trust your intelligence to comprehend the necessity behind this action. Pull your pants down."

Yea... the pill couldn’t make the clothes invisible after all.

I swallowed the pill and I could see my skin flicker, revealing the intricate network of veins and then my muscles were visible and then bones.

Stripping off my shirt, I could see my my own beating heart and functioning stomach. Oddly, I felt more fascinated than repulsed.

Soon, I stood entirely invisible. It was a strange feeling, not being able to see yourself.

I took off the rest of my clothes and following The Lord, who had already exited the Pink rcedes, I contemplated the adjustnts required to move seamlessly in this state.

"Follow ," The Lord said. I could tell where he was, because of the small pink pin that he held in his right hand.

It was late in the evening, so where normally there would be a huge queue of tourists wanting to tour the White House, there were only a couple of policen standing on guard.

We moved by them, not even caring about the small sound that we made.
