"Young master, the Divine War is too dangerous. According to the Count, many nobles died in the last one."
"The Count suggested that we hide for now. It’s best not to draw too much attention."
"Indeed, young master. Let’s wait until the young lady ascends to her title before making any plans."
The maids who stepped forward were naturally loyal. However, they were shocked by Chu Yi’s audacity and tried to dissuade him one by one.
The Count had already fled, and they were on the run as well. Being wanted was only a matter of ti. Instead of hiding, they raised their banners with loud fanfare and even wanted to participate in the Divine War. They had never seen such a reckless act. If it weren’t for this young man’s act of killing a Marquis, they would have thought Chu Yi was insane.
"AWOO—"
Bika lay lazily on Chu Yi’s shoulder. Suddenly, its vertical pupils narrowed. It raised its neck and let out a low, warning growl.
Master, bad guys are coming! Bika communicated to Chu Yi.
"Well, let think."
Chu Yi raised a hand to silence the maids, his deep black eyes flickering with a tint of twilight as he looked into the distance.
Everyone was taken aback, following Chu Yi’s gaze to a tranquil corner.
"Young master, is there sothing amiss?"
The maids instantly shifted into combat mode. Their muscles bulged and veins popped as they transford into powerful, muscular forms. Without titles, as re servants of nobility, low-grade Blood Energy flowed within them, granting them combat power comparable to the Silver rank.
"HISS..."
The night grew thick as a black mist began to drift. Countless shadows flickered, rising and falling, gradually surrounding Chu Yi and his group.
The next mont, BANG! BANG!
The ground exploded, revealing white bones, limbs, and skulls. The number of corpses buried here was uncountable, their aura powerful. The dim light illuminated their grotesque, decayed faces as they erged from the cracked earth, endless. Dark blood dripped, carrying a foul, bloody stench, as it coated the group of immortal dead.
Blood Servants, also known as the Living Dead, lacked reason and possessed very low intelligence. Each Vampire noble kept a reserve of such cannon fodder. Spread through saliva and blood, they were cheap, expendable pawns in conflicts between nobles.
Simultaneously, enveloped in black mist, countless bat wings unfurled. Pairs of scarlet pupils, as nurous as stars, stared from all directions at their encircled prey, their expressions filled with mockery and ridicule. For this ambush, the nobles had summoned a horde of cannon fodder from nearby, intending to deplete the Janet family’s strength.
"Janet’s vermin! This is Rein Duchy. Where do you think you can run?"
"We’ve been waiting a long ti. Hand over the Countess, and maybe you can atone for your sins."
Various rciless whispers echoed in their ears like a swarm of bats—sharp, jumbled, and growling—disturbing everyone’s thoughts.
"This... so many?" Chu Yi was slightly surprised, a trace of shock appearing on his handso face.
The maids were stunned, a bit puzzled.
Could it be... even the young master finds it troubleso?
"Young master, you should take the young lady and leave."
"With your strength, you can take the young lady out by yourself."
"Yes, don’t worry about us. Back then, the Count was my lifesaver."
The maids mistakenly thought that Chu Yi had weakened after killing the Marquis and couldn’t fight a big battle anymore.
But Chu Yi just smiled.
Although these are just cannon fodder, their sheer numbers will make a perfect, sumptuous feast for the Deceit Beast.
"Bika, I choose you!"
Chu Yi stood by the vehicle. The young fox on his shoulder, after eating a Spirit Core, jumped down. It landed with a stomp that cracked the ground, sending up a ring of white air as it shot into the sky. Its tangerine-golden fur ignited with sparks, forming a small fireball that rapidly grew larger, like a rising firework.
"A... fox?"
"Is this what a Beast Tar does? So weak, I could crush it with one hand."
"Humans have always been lowly, their bloodlines chaotic. The Beast Tar system they developed is nothing special."
In the black mist, so minor nobles couldn’t help but sneer.
Could this fox possibly harm us?
The next mont, the firelight began to writhe violently, constantly expanding, transforming into a brilliant sun.
Light. Endless light and heat, carrying an overwhelming temperature, swept out.
The black mist lted away, exposing countless minor nobles. They bubbled as if splashed with concentrated sulfuric acid, letting out agonizing screams as they transford into bats and fled wildly.
King’s Domain!
The endless army of Living Dead, swept by the surging heatwave, were all incinerated, reduced to ashes.
A vast number of souls, though highly fragnted, were drawn together by a strange force. Like a dense mist, they drilled into Chu Yi’s human skin, where they were refined into pure energy that tempered his bones. Chu Yi felt a warmth spread throughout his body. His bones grew warm and beca even more resilient.
This grand feast ca just in ti. Perhaps I can consider a wide-scale slaughter in this Dark World, absorbing souls. After all, they’re all Alien Races.
Chu Yi squinted slightly. His Clock Eye flickered with Twilight Light. Twelve dials appeared, with only eleven of them occupied by ancient deities, as the hour hand moved.
BOOM!
A brilliant sun, like a teor from outer space, plumted from the sky, dragging a long tail of fla as it fell towards the earth. Upon impact, the ground tore open like paper, completely blasted through. From the center of the impact, ripples spread. The earth cracked, and chunks of it flew apart like scattered flower petals, falling haphazardly, only to be incinerated by the subsequent shockwaves of Crown Fla.
The countless dormant Living Dead, the cannon fodder army assembled by the nobles, were thus effortlessly obliterated by that single teor.
"How can this be? How does his Pet Beast have such destructive power!"
So minor nobles turned pale. That seemingly harmless fox could transform into a teor and crush them; its power was already comparable to that of a Marquis.
"He’s a Beast-Controlling Demon."
An experienced noble, his bat wings shielding him from the blazing light, said calmly, "Humans, though weak, developed the Beast Taming system. They have contended with our Blood Race for a thousand years, which is enough to prove the system’s excellence."
"The most outstanding among them are called ’Demons’ by the human race."
It was the first ti these nobles had seen such an extraordinary Beast Tar. Could he be an ally invited by Count Janet?
「In the void.」
Eugene’s blood-red eyes beca visible, his cold gaze fixated on Chu Yi and his group. Suddenly, his gaze fixed on the vehicle. A faint pressure from a superior bloodline made his usually impassive face register surprise.
Bloodline ascension? Is the Count’s daughter performing a bloodline ascension ritual? The evolving bloodline... it’s subtly nobler than even mine, a Marquis?! Could it be... an effect of that Holy Relic?
At that mont, Eugene’s mind raced. His figure vanished into the void as he sped towards the vehicle.
