Chapter 531 – Shortcoming Of Evil Pieces…

Shirone was having a lot of fun… The Dragon was obviously strong, but the Dragon wasn't very fast and your strength is completely useless if you can't land a blow on your enemy and that is what was happening here. The Dragon howled in pain as he dropped on his back… Shirone lunged forward and started to rain down blows on the Dragon without a pause. This was probably the only chance Shirone was going to get, so she decided to push her power to the very limit and that is when she started having so problems.
Shirone felt an invisible force trying to restrict her power from growing… This wasn't the first ti she has felt this invisible force. She had asked her sister about this and fortunately, Kuroka knew why this was happening. Rias Gremory is the King of her Peerage and she was weak as fuck. Her weakness was the cause of this restrictive force.
It was a well-known fact, that a King cannot resurrect soone who is way stronger than them… Yes, there is a way around this problem. The King could use multiple Pieces to resurrect that being, but this solution was still a hit or miss… There was another solution, Mutated Pieces. Mutated Pieces are extrely rare and they are considered to be a bug in the Evil Piece System because of obvious reasons.
Now that Shirone's power was surpassing her King's power, the Evil Piece System was trying to rein in her power due to the limitation of her Piece. If her Rook Piece was a Mutated Piece then she shouldn't have been having this problem, or Shirone had both Rook Pieces stuffed inside her body.
The Evil Pieces are directly connected to the King, so if a King isn't strong then he or she wouldn't be able to resurrect strong people as their Peerage mbers. At the sa ti, the Evil Pieces would try to restrict any of the Peerage mbers from becoming way stronger than the King.
Ajuka Beelzebub didn't put this function intentionally, it was simply a side effect of how the Evil Piece System worked. Most of the Devils didn't even know about this problem since Kings were generally the strongest mbers within a Peerage, so almost nobody faced this problem.
The only reason Kuroka knew about this problem was because the Naberius Clan had done extensive research in the Evil Piece System. They needed to research the Evil Piece System, after all, they were trying to create a Super Devil using a resurrected Devil.
So, whenever Shirone tried to go above a certain level, she felt the restrictive force trying to suppress her Power. Since this wasn't the first ti Shirone was feeling this restrictive force, she has gotten quite used to this feeling. The force wasn't able to restrict her completely… but it could still restrict a lot of her power.
Shirone climbed down from the Dragon's chest, who has been knocked out the barrage of continuous attacks. "The Last Rook of Sairaorg Bael has been eliminated" Grayfia announced and Shirone slowly made her way towards Akeno.
Akeno couldn't believe that Shirone just defeated a mber of the Bune Clan who was capable of Dragonification. House of Bune is one of the extinct Clan from the 72 pillars. Bune Clans were known to be Dragon Tars and with extensive training, the mbers of the Bune Clan could transform into actual Dragons with the actual skills of a Dragon.
Akeno also had a hard fight, but unlike Shirone, she was barely standing. Her left hand was broken and she was also walking with more than a slight limp. "Are you okay, Shirone?" Akeno asked in a worried tone.
"I should be the one asking that" Shirone deadpanned in an emotionless tone and Akeno couldn't help but smile after hearing Shirone's words.
"I will live… So, what do we do now? Kiba has been eliminated, so Rias' plan has been already derailed" Akeno pointed out and Shirone nodded her head in agreent.
"But I don't want to give up. There is sothing I want to do even though we can't win" Shirone said and Akeno imdiately beca curious, so she urged Shirone to continue speaking.
"I want to fight Sairaorg Bael" Shirone declared with a completely straight face and Akeno started to wonder if she heard Shirone correctly or not. For a mont she also considered that Shirone might be joking, but after a few seconds of silence, Akeno realized that Shirone wasn't joking. She really wanted to fight Sairaorg Bael.
"Are you sure… I know you are strong, but…" Akeno trailed off in a worried tone. She didn't even bother to finish the sentence since she thought that Shirone probably knew what she was going to say.
"Yes, I am sure" Shirone declared with a determined look on her face. Akeno kept looking at Shirone intently for a few monts and she finally released a sigh.
"I see… Then as your Senpai, I can't allow you to go on your own. Give a few minutes, let heal myself and then we will go and look for Sairaorg" Akeno smiled kindly and Shirone stared at Akeno for a couple of seconds before she gave Akeno a curt nod of agreent…

"Ajuka… there is sothing I heard recently" All of a sudden Hela spoke up after Shirone finally knocked out Lodora Bune. Ajuka Beelzebub imdiately straightened up and he was about to stand up and approached Hela, but Hela simply gestured him to stay where he was.
"Did you know that there is a restrictive function in the Evil Pieces? None of the Peerage mbers can reach way beyond the power level of their Kings until they were resurrected by a Mutated Piece or multiple Evil Pieces?" Hela asked, making all the Devils inside the stiffen. While the Devils were completely stunned, the other Factions decided to listen closely, trying to get all the information they could.
"Yes" Ajuka admitted nervously. To be honest, he never thought that a secret like that was going to co out since sothing like this has never happened, but he found that he was wrong.
"Then why haven't you solved this problem? Does it have sothing to do with keeping your Servants oppressed?" Hela asked with a lopsided grin on her face. Nobody dared to say anything, because Hela was indirectly accusing Ajuka of creating a Slavery System.
"No. Not exactly. It has nothing to do with or anyone… It is just how the Evil Piece System works. Evil Pieces are connected to the King. We know that a Devil gets their Evil Pieces according to their strength and potential and a King can resurrect soone way stronger than them because the Evil Pieces are drawing power from the King when they are resurrecting soone"
"So, the connection stays there when even after the said person has been resurrected. This connection also serves as the connection between the King and their Servants, so we can't sever those connections. Even if I tried, I can't fix this problem… The only two ways to solve this problem. First, I would need to completely redesign the Evil Piece System from the scratch"

Ajuka used the word probably because soone else might have faced it too, but they never ca to him because they didn't know what was the problem in the first place.
"Yes… soone is facing this problem and I have been contacted regarding this matter. What do you propose I should do? After all, I am a magnanimous leader" Hela said with a straight face and almost everyone present inside the room beside Reo and his lovers had to stop themselves from calling the woman a shaless liar. They could have called her that and that would have been probably the last thing they ever did.
"Giving him or her the status of high-class Devil and their own Evil Pieces would be the most viable solution" Ajuka suggested and Hela smirked after hearing the man's words.
"Hmmm… That is probably the best choice" Hela agreed with a small nod of her head…
