Lin Yi arrived at Tang Qinru’s ho, pulling his suitcase behind him.

The mont he opened the door.

A curtain was drawn in the living room, completely blocking out the light from outside.

The room was sowhat dim.

Lin Yi tried his best not to make too much noise.

’Tang Qinru should still be sleeping right now.’

Carrying his suitcase, he headed toward the room he was renting.

Just as he laid the suitcase flat on the floor and began to take out so of his daily necessities and clothes, Tang Qinru walked out of her room.

"You’re moving in this early?"

Startled, Lin Yi quickly turned to look.

Tang Qinru’s long hair was tied up in a bun on the back of her head.

She wore a loose, silver nightdress.

But it could hardly conceal the prominent swell of her chest.

Her long, fair legs were crossed as she stood.

One shoulder leaned lightly against the doorfra...

"Sister Qingru, did I wake you?" Lin Yi asked with a sowhat awkward smile.

Tang Qinru shook her head. "No. I would have woken up around this ti anyway."

"Is this all your stuff?"

she asked, her brow furrowing slightly as she looked at the contents of Lin Yi’s suitcase.

Lin Yi nodded. "This is everything I own!"

"You made a trip back just for this?"

"These clothes are all old. And this one is completely worn out!"

"Forget it. I’ll pick you up from school tonight, and we’ll go to the mall to buy you a couple of new outfits!"

Tang Qinru said with a smile.

"Sister Qingru, you don’t have to. I usually just wear my school uniform..."

"It’s my treat, so what are you worried about? You won’t have to spend a di. That’s final. I’ll pick you up tonight!"

Lin Yi was speechless.

"Oh, right, you haven’t had breakfast yet, have you? There’s still plenty of ti. I’ll go make sothing, and you can head to school after you eat."

Before Lin Yi could say a word, Tang Qinru headed for the kitchen.

He did, in fact, have to go to school today.

First, he had to take care of registering for the Martial Arts Exam.

It was the biggest thing weighing on his mind. Once he was registered, he could spend the rest of his ti focusing completely on improving his cultivation realm.

He had to get a good score on the Martial Arts Exam in just over two months.

That way, he could get accepted into a Martial Arts University and enter the New District.

Lin Yi took everything out of his suitcase.

He hung his few old clothes in the closet.

Although they were very old, Lin Yi couldn’t bring himself to throw them away.

After all, he’d had those clothes for years.

By the ti he finished unpacking his things, Tang Qinru ca back over.

"Co eat first!"

"Okay!"

Lin Yi nodded and walked out of the room.

On the dining table were a few slices of bread, along with fried eggs and milk.

Tang Qinru had already changed out of her nightdress and was wearing a long, light-green dress.

The hair that had been tied up behind her head was now let down.

Even though she wasn’t wearing any makeup.

Still, the makeup-free Tang Qinru was a sight to behold.

In fact, in Lin Yi’s opinion, she looked better without makeup, or with only light makeup.

"I wasn’t prepared this morning, so it’s a bit rushed.

I hope this is enough to make do with for now. Tomorrow, I’ll make you a sumptuous breakfast!"

Tang Qinru said to Lin Yi, smiling.

’She’s making it again tomorrow?’

Lin Yi quickly said, "Sister Qingru, you don’t have to go to all this trouble. I can actually..."

"You’re Wei Nan’s friend, and now you’re my tenant!"

"As long as you’re living here, I’m responsible for taking good care of you!"

"Alright, eat first. Tell how my cooking is!"

’Cooking skills?’

Lin Yi looked at the fried egg before him. The edges were a bit burnt.

Overall, though, it looked pretty good—at least it was fully cooked.

Lin Yi picked up a piece and took a bite, his brows knitting together involuntarily.

It was like he’d just swallowed a mouthful of pure salt.

He almost spat it right back out.

But when he saw the expectant look on Tang Qinru’s face, Lin Yi forced it down.

"So? Is it okay?" Tang Qinru asked hopefully.

Lin Yi nodded. "It’s good, just... a bit salty. It would be even better with a little less salt next ti!"

"Salty?"

Frowning slightly, Tang Qinru picked up a piece of her own fried egg and tasted it.

"It’s not salty. Mine actually tastes a little bland. Did I not put enough salt?"

Hearing her say that,

Lin Yi understood. "Sister Qingru, maybe you put all the salt on my egg?"

"Ah? Pfft..."

Tang Qinru understood at once.

She couldn’t help but burst out laughing. "Then why did you eat it? Wasn’t it salty?"

"If it tastes bad, you can just say so.

I’m not like one of those sensitive girls who can’t take a single word of criticism!"

"If there’s a problem, you have to point it out. I’ve been learning how to cook by myself lately."

"It’s perfect! You can be my taste-tester!"

Lin Yi was speechless.

After finishing breakfast, Lin Yi grabbed his book bag and left for school.

The school was very close by; it was only a walk of ten minutes or so.

There was no longer any need to take the twenty-minute bus ride.

Let alone being packed in with all the grandpas and grandmas every day.

Once he was out of the residential complex, Lin Yi slung his book bag onto his back.

He decided that from now on, he would run to school.

It was a good way to exercise and build up his physique.

...

"Teacher, I want to register for the Martial Arts Exam!"

When Lin Yi got to school, he dropped his book bag off in the classroom.

He then went straight to the Martial Arts Exam registration office.

The teacher in charge of registration looked up at Lin Yi.

"Did you bring the registration fee?"

"Yes!"

Lin Yi nodded and took an envelope out of his pocket.

Judging by its thickness, it must have been a full 30,000.

The teacher nodded and handed Lin Yi a Martial Arts Exam registration form.

"Fill this form out first, then bring it back to with the registration fee."

"Thank you!"

Lin Yi nodded politely.

He didn’t intend to go back to the classroom to fill out the form.

Instead, he sat down at an empty table right there in the registration office.

The registration form for the Martial Arts Exam only asked for so basic personal information.

There was nothing particularly special about it.

Further down, however, was a section to write the na of the desired Martial Arts University.

It also asked for the nas of family mbers who would accompany the applicant.

And in the family mbers section, there were five blank spaces.

This ant that if he were accepted by a Martial Arts University, Lin Yi could bring five family mbers with him.

They could all go live in the New District together.

This was a perk offered by the Martial Arts Universities.

Sothing akin to the saying, "When one person achieves enlightennt, their entire household ascends to heaven."

Lin Yi glanced at it for only a mont before unhesitatingly writing three words: "No family mbers."

Once the entire form was filled out, he handed it over with the envelope.

The teacher in charge of registration glanced down at it.

When she saw Lin Yi’s na,

her head shot up. "You’re Lin Yi? From Mr. Liu Song’s class?"

"Yes, that’s . Is there a problem, ma’am?" Lin Yi asked.

The teacher smiled and shook her head. "No problem at all. Your horoom teacher will be thrilled to hear you’ve finished your registration!"

"Alright, you can go now."

"Thank you, ma’am!"

Lin Yi gave a deep bow and walked out.
